Also think Milan will do it myself and as well to note they shouldnt even have been in the tournament in the first place.

The local bookie Frank Hughes from Newry always gfive out super odds and they have Milan outright at 4/5

Re: Champions League final AC Milan v Liverpool 23rd May

I read a lot stuff today to make a preview tomorrow for -- rene

And it´s not easy imo. Liverpool versus italian teams and in finals aren´t bad in the past. They won in Greece a final and they had the better performance this year in CL, especially on the away side.

I´ll wait for the latest news tomorrow and some squad and lineup informations...

But it´s not as easy as it seems in my eyes.

Re: Champions League final AC Milan v Liverpool 23rd May

A couple of weeks ago I was planning without hesitation to lump on AC Milan , largely on account of being spellbound with awe and wondering how on earth Liverpool are going to cope with the worlds greatest current midfielder; Kaka .

Fortunately the spell has been broken, not least through further thought and consideration.

Personally, I don’t feel statistics play a major role in games such as this, and to a lesser degree, neither does current form. This leaves a little bit of a conundrum insofar as deciding on an angle, deciding on the point of departure leading to prediction.

I will state now, that if the Italians were playing either the greatest team in England; a certain Manchester team , or the special ones it would have been a certain Italian job , but playing Liverpool will be different.

The scouser`s go into this final as the 3rd best team in England , and lets be frank here, they clearly lack the consistency to win the premiership – but in one off games it’s a different ball game . And the beauty of it is, every scouser and his dog knows the current Liverpool side will not win an English premiership title , there are no illusions – what counts on the Spion Kop is the Champions League.

Liverpool have been preparing for this final since before Christmas , as they have had nothing better to do since then , and more importantly, nothing but this final to focus upon – the work is done, they are there, the finishing line is to make it count against the illustrious Rossoneri.

How are they going to achieve the win?

Honesty amongst friends , Liverpool have no star quality , all players are equally mediocre – but the rub is – this is their strength – they are a team and play as a team.

However, the one thing that keeps running round in my head is what are they going to do about Kaka, he has to be contained. And whilst I am a firm believer in the old cliché that one player doesn’t make a team, I do believe that one player can make a difference to a team. And the Milanese difference is the adopted Brazilian . Obviously, Benitez will have a plan, the essence of which will be to close him down, not allow him space and time on or with the ball – but that’s how Liverpool will play this, so it’s just a matter of delegating the responsibility.

Come the final whistle there will be no beeping Fiats or Ferraris on the streets of Milan – but the Kopites rendition of you will never walk alone will be heard from Penzance to Penrith.

Rafa Benitez will be well advised to sleep with one eye open on Wednesday night , otherwise, come Thursday morning he may well find he has snuggled up to a horse`s head…

BET
…..
LIVERPOOL 90 MINUTES = 4 POINTS @ 3.70
LIVERPOOL EXTRA TIME = 1 POINT @ 16.00
LIVERPOOL PENALTIES = 1 POINT @ 11.00

Im with you Merlin, if you look at AC Milans record away in the competition this year, hardly spectacular. Ok they beat Man Utd hands down last time round but remember Utd hardly set the world alight in the last couple of months of the season. Liverpool are built for one off occasions such as this and even though the likes of Kaka and Pirlo can cause damage to any team in teh world I still trust in Mr Benitez and can only see a Liverpool victory tomorrow night (maybe not in 90 mins but could be pens and Reina vs Dida is no contest)

Yes... jealousy that the Reds made it -yet another time- to the final and the Devils couldn't!

Re: Champions League final AC Milan v Liverpool 23rd May

AC Milan - FC Liverpool
Lets go .. 23 hours to the final in athens and I´m sure we´ll see two great european football teams. But imo Liverpool get the cup here. Liverpool have lost only one match in the second phase of CL versus the Blues in the halffinal tight with 1-0. But they kicked out Barcelona (2-1 and 0-1) with an impressive win at Barcelona and they kicked also Chelsea out in penalty kick. So Pool crashed to top favourites this season and they played excellent on the international stage. Benitez is a very good Coach. He won 2005 in the hot night of istanbul when Milan led 3-0 after 45 minutes but Gerrard,Smicer and Alonso striked and Dudek razed the dreams of Milan in penalty kick. Milan won only versus Munich away (0-2), but Munich is not on their track this season. They can´t win versus UK teams in this season away. No win versus Glasgow (0-0) and lost at Old Trafford (3-2). Milan is too sure here and Liverpool looks good to me. hard workers and fighters. And if the defenive-midfield keep Kaka and Seedorf in check like Lampard in the match versus Chelsea they have a good chance to get the cup the 2nd time..

- Liverpool to win the Cup

btw. balance of Serie A vs. EPL in CL Final 2-3

One word

ROMA

Man Utd destroyed Roma and then Milan put out Man Utd. When Man Utd played AC they did have form.

I'm still hurting from 2 years ago and I'm going to play with fire once again.

I know this is stupidity but I'm stupid. I'm not only going to take AC to lift the trophy but i'm considering them on the handicap (-1) as well. Inzaghi and Kaka
