Re: 26th June: Spain v Russia

Once again Keema is the voice of reason. This game could go either way but as all my pennys are already down on the boys from Spain I can only sit and wait.

Should be a good game and I hope the winner of this wins the final because a side as fuckin shite as Germany should never be allowed to win it.

Re: 26th June: Spain v Russia

I should also declare that I have backed Spain to win the competition and laid Russia for the final so I very much have a vested interest in this game which means you might like to ignore my comments afterwards.

If I could start from scratch I would not take the financial position that I'm in as the Russians are an excellent footballing side but a Spanish progression to the final tomorrow guarantee's me a profit for a major competition for the first time I can ever remember to be honest. A Russian win would leave me hoping that the Germans don't lift the trophy and that Villa ends up top scorer.

Even saying that, I must confess to a soft spot for the Russians who play football the way it should be played.

It's in the hands of the Gods now.

Re: 26th June: Spain v Russia

Come on the Motherland!!!!

Right from start to finish they've been superb, firstly with Denisov(who could have been another star of this tourney) being called up and politely informing the Federation he couldn't be bothered to their football so far - great to watch, create a shedload of chances, miss most of them, run all day and defend like Queens Park...

Great stuff, I'll be cheering them on. From a punting perspective I agree with keem that the only punt I can lay my hat on is goals - both teams will get in behind the other down the flanks with ease as Aniukov and Zhirkov are so attacking. Spain should have the better of it as their midfield three offer them so much control - but on the flipside I can't really see them shackling Arshavin with any great effect as he'll float in behind Pavlyuchenko and I haven't seen Senna be a real 'destroyer' yet. Spain won't give Russia as much ball as the teams they've played previously but given the amount of chances they create and the way they create them with all those willing runners from deep(who I don't see the small spanish midfield tracking all day long as required) there's no way the Ruskies will be quiet for long. The Spaniards will get plenty good service to the front two as the Russian defence looks very poor when turned and gets no protection from the flanks or infront.

Goals goals goals, hopefully more of them for Mother Russia but whoever wins like you ODM they'll be getting my full backing for the final against those miserable gerrys.

Sing along comrades!

Re: 26th June: Spain v Russia

After eventing slightly but Coral was offering 10/11 for Germany and Spain to qualify from their semis (don't know if better was available or not) but I thought this was a decent price considering I knew Lads price was 1/7 so this was making Spain 8/11 (roughly).

In a moment of madness I emptied my account on this bet so I am also hoping Spain can do it.

Both teams have impressed so fingers crossed this should be a good game but I know Arshavin was missing from their opening encounter but I think Spain will be confident that they can cope with him.

With Spain knowing that Russia have already tucked away the Dutch they won't be taking this lightly and will give Russia the respect they deserve but I think the talented squad that Spain have should be enough to take them through

Don't know much about this, haven't even seen a whole game ( I tried but I fell asleep watching the italians against the french). Anyway, having read all of your considered opinions I'm putting my winnings from last nights game on over 1.5 goals 2/5 with Boyle.

Re: 26th June: Spain v Russia

I'm on Russia all the way with this one. Although Spain have done well to get this far, it's about time now that they do their usual Championship fcuk-up and I think we're pretty much at that point now against a young Russian team (youngest team in the whole Tournament) who seem to be getting better with every game !! Could be after 90 minutes, could be extra time or even penalties, but the Ruskies will do it !

Russia (+0.5 asian) @ 1.825

Bet365 had the same price Kegman. If you get a bit windy and you want to buy some of your stake back, Russia are over 6/4 (2.6) with betfair now to qualify so you could split your stake to minimize your losses by backing them for a bit.

Re: 26th June: Spain v Russia

isn't he lovely
now I'm gonna tell you something you haven't heard yet, probably, there is a man in Russia, well there are lots of them there, but this one is specciall one, (not Jose) he is owner of Moscow servise for meeting people, kinda to put it nicely Pjotr Listerman the name of the man, and he promised russian players for each goal, they are going to get two models, and little devil from picture above was delighted by offer, and said that his team mates will be happy, cause there are lot of them who are not married. Bloody wanker, like they will marry those girls, these kids today, they do not know shite. sorry, got carried away, here's link, hope you understand Russian, notice a biiig smile on Arshavin face

Re: 26th June: Spain v Russia

Seriously, teams met in Euro in the opening game and Spain took an easy win 4-1. Russia played differently after that, and won against Greece and got their brain back, and played brilliantly against Sweden and Holland. Russia played really great in attack and created many chances to score, each team is playing attacking football and if we’ll see goal at the begining in the first half, I expect this one to go crazy with goals, hope Spain won't play the way they played against Italy, than I'm dead.
hope Spain will be like in group games, and Russia like against Sweeden and Holland, then I'll be happy.

ODM I believe mentioned crystal ball, well, my dear, I have, some of you might remember little movie(s) called Back to the Future, I have the Book from that movie and the book said over 3
