Germany v Turkey 25th June

Semi final here and Germany best priced @ 1.50 right now and I would recommend getting on this price before it falls even more.

I am not a big fan of the short odds bets but there are special circumstances like now when it would be a really good idea to get involved.

Turkey have upto 9 players missing through injury and suspensions.

No attacking power now with Nihat out of the tournament and Tuncay missing also.

Missing your best player of the tournament in Arda through suspension aswell as Emre missing too and you have a very weak central midfield.

Rustu will still play as number 1 keeper suspended still and we all seen how dodgy a keeper he was even though he turned to be the hero due to penalty shootout!

I didn't rate Turkey before and i don't even more now. I feel they have been VERY fortunate to be where they are. Credit to their never say die attitude but to turn around being 2-0 down with 14 mins to go and win 3-2 and then equalise with the last kick of the game in extra time and they have been riding their luck.

The Germans are starting to come into a game too and i can see them win this comfortable infact with the game ending up being a no contest.

Don't have the odds available right now but i think some of the handicaps could be quite tasty odds.

Ditto , Turkey must have by now worn out that Rabbits foot, I'm not going to talk about experience and this and that as this Tournament has ripped up the rule book.

The Turks must have too many first teamers out of the side now to threaten Germany but nothing surprises me with this Turkish side.

Re: Germany v Turkey 25th June

Same with myself even without the turks missing so many playersi still think they wouldnt threaten the germans. They are missing too many players to trouble the Germans who played well against Portugal. Paddy Power go 13/10 -1 EH and 7/2 -2 EH.

Turkey had very very little, i think one notable chance against Croatia in 90 minutes. Croatia also missed planety of chances and should have had Turkey buried. Klose, Podolski and the likes of Ballack should be able to breach the Turkey backlines on many occassions and not miss the simple chances Olic couldnt put away.

Re: Germany v Turkey 25th June

I'm also in agreement with you here , Turkey showed little against Croatia and with the loss of Nihat for the rest of the tournament , his experience with Villareal was an important factor.
keeks got this right Germany were 1.5 last night Germany -1 was 1.8 A.H.

Today Germany @1.44 and Germany -1 @1.7 A.H.

bet365 handicaps are Germany -1, -1.5 @2.05
alternatives are :
Germany -2.5, -3 @5.70
Germany -2.5 @4.30
Germany -2, -2.5 @3.90
Germany -2 @3.50
Germany -1.5, -2 @2.67
Germany -1.5 @2.27
Germany -1, -1.5 @2.05
Germany -1 @1.68
Germany -0.5, -1 @1.49
Germany -0.5 @1.37
Germany 0, -0.5 @1.22

my bet is Germany -1, -1.5 @2.05
If Germany win by only one goal half the stake is returned
If Germany win by two goals I get over evens

A couple of goals from Podolski would be appreciated as I've got him in the sweep to be top goal scorer

Re: Germany v Turkey 25th June

Couple of sub markets that might prove good value

With Tukey having so many players missing just can't see them creating a lot of chances and conceding the majority of possession to Germany . Depends really on the Germans approach to the game. If it's the right approach, Germany to score in both halves (7/5 with Paddys), win both halves (13/5 with Paddys) and win to nil at 11/10 with Paddys all worth an interest.

I'm on score both halves in a single and a double with the Russians at 14/5 to get revenge on Spain.

Roll on Wed and Thurs......

I have Villa and Pavyluchenko as top goalscorers so a Podolski double would not be appreciated!!

Re: Germany v Turkey 25th June

With the injuries and suspensions already mentioned is nobody a little worried Turkey might park the team bus in front of their goal?

I think Germany should win this but i would imagine that Turkey's only hope would be to put 11 men behind the ball, defend like hell and play for penalties?

I'd also like to think that the germans could break them down and score but how long into the game before that happens? This could be tighter than it looks.

Good Luck whatever you bet.

Using pure adrenalin rushes as a measuring stick, Turkey's fans have had an absolute ball at Euro 2008.

Repeatedly, their team have stared down the barrel of defeat and elimination and yet time and time again they've watched a miracle unfold.

And their brinkmanship seems to getting more and more daring.

A last-minute winner against Switzerland certainly got the heart pumping but excitement levels went through the roof when they turned around a 2-0 deficit against the Czech Republic to win 3-2 and book their place in the quarters.

There, it finally looked game over when Croatia went ahead deep into extra-time but, incredibly, Turkey turned it around again when Semih Senturk smashed home an equaliser with seconds left before they finished off their opponents in a shootout.

So can this amazing refusal to accept defeat kick in again when they take on tournament favourites Germany in Wednesday's semi-final?

Part of you wants to think never say never but Fatih Terim's comeback kings look to have a monumental task on their hands this time.

Quite simply, Turkey have run out of players and their squad is so decimated by injuries that there is even speak of the third-choice goalkeeper coming on as an outfield sub.

Striker Nihat Kahveci, whose late goals stunned the Czechs, is the latest casualty to fly home and that means injury and suspension has robbed them of nine players for their last four clash.

Germany, by contrast, have virtually a full squad to choose from with Torsten Frings looking set to recover from a broken rib.

It's all reflected in the match prices though and those who believe Germany simply have to be backed will have to accept odds of 4/9.

Germany adopted an open game to see off Portugal 3-2 in a thrilling quarter-final but I expect them to be more cautious against the Turks.

And that's why it could pay to look at the half-time market rather than the full-time one.

Turkey have failed to score a first-half goal in the whole tournament, twice going in at 0-0 and twice heading for the dressing room 1-0 down.

Their tactics on Wednesday will almost certainly be to keep it quiet for 45 minutes, stay in the game for as long as they can before trying to pull off their late party trick.

With that in mind, it could pay to back 0-0 and 1-0 Germany in the half-time market at odds of 15/8 and 9/4 respectively.

Any semi-final has a large degree of caution to it and history certainly favours us - even when we just focus on these two teams.

Turkey held Brazil to a goalless draw after 45 minutes of their 2002 World Cup semi-final and, in the other last four clash that year, Germany and South Korea were deadlocked at 0-0 before Michael Ballack's second-half winner.

More recently, Germany and Italy failed to produce a first-half goal in the 2006 World Cup semi-final while the other semi - France v Portugal - was 1-0 at the break.

Add in scorelines of Greece 0 Czech Republic 0 and Portugal 1 Holland 0 in the 2004 European Championship semis and history is stacked in our favour.

Backing Germany 1-0 and 0-0 in the group phase would have produced two winners out of three and although there's a slight chance that Ballack and co will look to kill the game off early, cat-and-mouse is more likely.

The 4/9 about Germany is probably about right but Turkey's ability to score late puts us off full-time correct score bets or the Germany to win to nil option.

The goalscorer markets are designed to cramp value on the likely German net finders so we'll keep it simple and play the two HT scorelines.

Re: Germany v Turkey 25th June

unfortunately

this is the end of the road for turks

some people-my self included- we said that turks offered excellent games in this tournament, some others said that turks were passionate till last second...

i disagree with everybody, and with my self

turks tons of luck so far, czechs couldnt make it 3-0 for example, luck and only luck pushed them to reach semis, because quality of the team is under huge doupt

i think the very experienced german team will cruise to final

Germany @1.50 the gift of the euro2008 guys

Re: Germany v Turkey 25th June

Aye we all love the Germans dont we? It's just a bridge too far (didn't mention the war) for the Turks , their luck simply must run out here.
13 fit men , players playing out of position , the goalie for one, ex-Bury players on the wing. nah , it's like a derby too with all them immigrant turks in The fartherland.
I think all has been said here and I have nothing new to add , german win.
Oh I do have thios wee video

Re: Germany v Turkey 25th June

aaaaa, it should, could be us tonight fuck oh, well, life goes on

I've been thinking about over 3,5 in this one but kinda afraid about goals coming from Turkish side, who will score? third goalkeeper!!? can not believe that Germans will crush them 4-0, 5-0, if they do not underestimate Turks, they might crush them, on the other side, who knows, maybe Turkey will rise again, and score from the dressing room in the half time,or right before the end they will kick the ball and it will be a looong flight from Turkish penalty box into the German net, and while they are celebrating goal, Ballack will get so mad at his team, that he will score his own goal, to punish them little bit more, and then Terim will get on the pitch and will jump highest after corner kick and score beautifull goal with his knee, jumping so high above those tall German defenders. and Rustu will suddenly decide that it is time for him to score some goals and become best goalscorer of the tournament, so he will replace himself with third goalkeeper, and go to become one of most respected forwards of our time, cause we will score 6 goals in 4 and a half seconds..

so over is definately in

it is going to be "great" game to watch, for me, won Germany, lost on penalties against Turkey, after being better most of the game, it is not fair, but, hell, it is life...

Re: Germany v Turkey 25th June

My final analysis of this game is this: Turkey with a strong side had roughly 1 shot on target against Croatia and scraped through with a lot of luck to the semi final. Even if Turkey hadnt had players suspended or injured i would still fancy Germany srongly to beat them but now that they aremissing so many key players they shouldnt have a chance. Comon the Germans!

Re: Germany v Turkey 25th June

Just hearing its a very warm night in Basle Cinny. Im thinking that maybe the Turks will be able to hold them for a while and then as the game goes on things will cool down and The turks will throw caution to the wind and the game will open up. thats why ive gone for-

1 Germany - Germany ht/ft @ 1/1 5pts single
2 Second Half most goals @ 1/1 4pts single

good luck to us all cinny
