17th June Holland v Romania

17 Jun 19:45 Holland v Romania 3.20 3.75 2.10

Odds Bet365

As for all the reasons mentioned in the other thread found here..
http://thedailypunt.com/forum/euro-2...n-romania.html

I expect Romania to win here as the Dutch play a 2nd string eleven and wave goodbye to the French and Italians.

Can't blame them as helping either side would hinder their chances of lifting this trophy and good luck to them as they have got themselves in this position through some cracking football to have that option.

Romania win

Re: 17th June Holland v Romania

holland too classy for them mate

balkan teams are making some shock appearances every now and then, but the football they play is boring to say the minimum

i fancy holland here @3.20

small stakes though, coz i am not in van basten's mind, i dont know if the guy say to his players " hey, we have excellent chance here, to send home, both italians and french"

Re: 17th June Holland v Romania

if Van Basten plays honest like RVN and doesn't fall in the box and the Italians or the French come back to bite them - how will he and the nation feel.

Everybody saying - well done VB for being honest and putting out your strongest team but you've been put out in the semi's.

Other thing though is if Holland beat Romania 1-0 and the France v Italy game finishes 0-0 do Romania still qualify ?

Re: 17th June Holland v Romania

from the BBC 'Kegman
Quote:
The Netherlands have won Group C and will play the Group D runners-up in the quarter-finals.

Romania will qualify for the quarter-finals if they beat the Netherlands, eliminating France and Italy.

If Romania fail to beat the Netherlands, the winner of France v Italy will go through.

If France and Italy draw, a point against the Netherlands would be enough to send Romania through. France must win to have any chance of qualifying.

If France and Italy share a score draw (1-1, 2-2, 3-3 etc), Italy will go through if Romania lose (by any score). In this scenario, Italy, Romania and France will be level on two points each but Italy would have scored more goals in games between the 3 teams.

Romania will finish bottom of the group if they lose and France and Italy draw 2-2, 3-3 or 4-4. France will finish bottom if they draw 1-1 unless Romania lose 3-0 or by a four-goal margin.

If France and Italy draw 0-0, Romania can lose by one goal, two goals or by a three-goal margin other than 3-0 but still qualify. In this scenario, Italy and Romania would have identical head-to-head records, but Romania would have better goal difference in ALL group matches or, in the case of the three-goal defeats, goals scored. France would finish bottom, having scored fewer goals head-to-head v Italy and Romania.

If Romania lose 3-0 to the Dutch, Italy would qualify with a 0-0 draw against France because of their superior coefficient points. France would finish bottom as they would have scored fewer goals head-to-head v Italy and Romania.

If Romania lose by four goals or more and the other game ends 0-0, Italy would proceed with a better overall goal difference than Romania. France would finish bottom as they would have scored fewer goals head-to-head v Italy and Romania.

If France and Italy draw AND Romania avoid defeat, then Romania go through
A French win would put Italy bottom, i'm already on that @ 13/2 and Italy not to qualify @ 6/4, it's all still in the balance

Re: 17th June Holland v Romania

Holland @ 3.20 is without a doubt one of the best bets of the tournament.

This is Romania who they are up against who are a decent side but they don't have one ofthe best sides in the competition thats for sure.

Holland resting 9 players but the players coming in aren't going to want to lie down and will want to make a case for them to become more involved the longer the tournament goes on.

The team is...

Netherlands: Stekelenburg, Boulahrouz, Heitinga, Bouma, De Cler, De Zeeuw, Engelaar, Afellay, Van Persie, Robben, Huntelaar.

That defence is a better back 4 than the regular one IMO.

In midfield they have some players who have been outstanding in the Eredivisie and we all know about Van Persie, Robben and Huntelaar. Thats 3 players right there who could cut open ANY defence in the world.

3.20 is an amazing price. I understand why they are 3.20 as many believe they will lie down but i can't see that.

Holland are flying right now, they feel they can beat any team right now and will want to continue that momentum.

Highly recommend a cheeky punt on the Dutch, even with the view to laying off.

Re: 17th June Holland v Romania

Strange this. The other thread says that Romania are going to win and I come into this thread expecting to see the same and it says that they won't

I'll copy and paste my post from the other thread...

Quote:
I don't think Romania will do it myself. I get worried when it all looks a bit obvious like this. Romania outdid the Dutch in the qualifiers, the Dutch will field a weakened team and they also have the incentive, as you all say, of getting two top rivals knocked out by losing.

To my mind there are two flys in this particular ointment.

1. The pressure on the Romanians is massive. Probably more that they have every had to bear as they are now expected to qualify.

2. If I was a second string Dutch player I'd be putting a couple of hundred percent into this game knowing that

a/ There's a chance I could impress the National Manager and end up playing in a European Championship final.

b/ I can put myself in the shop window for club managers to see and this might be the only chance I get of a game in the tournement.

I'm laying the Romanian win

One of those things of saying because a team has to win they must win. And that the Dutch will lie down.

For the line up the Dutch have and the price they are sitting at i find it a value bet ODM.

Follow me on the Dutch

Niciulaue of Caley Thistle starts upfront. Not an International class player to me.
