Favourites seem to be playing to form so far this tournament and Italy at nearly evens looks a good bet to me.

I would be looking at the under 2.5 myself slick. I can see Italy doing their usual sit on a 1 goal lead. Im for itally ht/ft at 3/2 and also under 2.5 goals at 8/15.

Italy are closer to 1/2 than evens with most slick. Well half and half. 8/11 with Paddy Power and Boylesport and as low as 11/20 with Sportingbet. Actually Italy have to win it dont they? That dont change nothing for me. I can see an Italian 1-0 or 2-0 win

Its at this point with Italy ( going on past tournies ) that i expect them to throw caution to the wind and cut loose and play football , they never do , so i suppose your unders is looking like a decent bet Komp.

Aye looks a game that will definately go on the unders (famous last words) , Romania seemed to contain a pretty effective attacking outfit in France and should deal with Toni who is usually shoved up front on his jack with similar ease, will go along with 1-0 ,2-0 to the Italians all day long.

Italy v Romania - Vienna

Italy were surprisingly crushed 3-0 by Holland in their opening game although two of the Dutch goals came from breakaways after the Azzurri had gone close themselves.

Without doubt the scoreline flattered Holland and quite simply it wasn't Italy's night.

Earlier that day, Romania had played for a 0-0 draw with France and got one with relative ease.

The fact that France looked half asleep and played with a formation designed not to concede rather than score made them perfect for Romania but Italy should prove a different challenge altogether.

Roberto Donadoni's men created plenty of chances against Holland and if they can breach Romania's admittedly well organised defence once, they can tease them out of their shell and hit them again.

Okay, there's a saying that no team are better at defending 1-0 leads than Italy but to be honest that's a bit old hat.

Italy scored two quickfire goals to beat Germany in the semi-finals of the last World Cup and six of their nine wins in qualifying were by two goals or more.

It means there could be a bit of value in the handicap markets and we'll get with Italy at 12/5 giving up a goal.

On the first goalscorer front, dead-ball specialist Andrea Pirlo looks overpriced at 20/1 with Ladbrokes. He didn't quite find his range against Holland but should get chances with Italy more than capable of winning free-kicks in shooting range.

The Milan man was critical of Donadoni's tactics against Holland and may just be.

odds on Italy and bets placed are only due to their reputation. Romania showed much more in this turnament and last year overall. 2,20 at places for double chance on Romania and above 5,0 for straight win are simply great. I am on x2
