Very interesting decision. I dont know whether its offside or not as I dont have the official rule book on me. Its all down to whether if a player leaves the pitch by his own momentum (eg accidentally as in this case) are they out of play as theyre off the field. Or regardless of how they ended up off the pitch are they still active as they didnt get the refs permission to leave.

Its weird everyone seems to be saying it was iron clad offside but the refs and linesman know the rules better than your average Joe and they were well aware a man was off the pitch there surely? I reckon he was still active "by the rulebook" and thats why they allowed it which makes it a correct decision. I cant believe the pundits dont at least consider that it might be a legit goal

Just about to say i wish i had unders on all the 1st round games but i'll be surprised if this finished that was as Italy look due a goal.

Just had a look @ the stats on first round games in case unders was a usual trait and in the main it is but the overs in the 3rd round matches look a lot better bet, I'll gather some stats b4 then as this aint the thread for it.

Sounds interesting slick. i suppose ...nah aint it the aye the 3rd games. Folks either relaxing or trying. I dont want anymore goals., got the overs and the most goals first half. another goal wouldnt suprise me i suppose. a consolation for the italians.

ilike your thinking here slick could the h2h ,rather than goal difference , being the first separating factor of teams tied in the group be a factor for more goals as well
