1. BETS

Each player can bet once per week, in the form of a single, double or treble. The Bet thread will appear from early midweek & players are then requested to post their bets. All bets must be placed before the earliest selected games kick off time, or at the latest 3pm saturday. NO LATER. All bets are in the form of 1-X-2, no other bets are accepted. Post your bets as follows to aid the admins:

Watford v Preston (1) 1.90 20pnt single - along with the country/league/competition that your selection is playing in if outside the UK.

Acceptable alternative formats would be to make your selected team in bold type. Please note that the bold type or the 1, 2 or X in brackets will be taken as your bet. We have had several instances of players indicating, for example, a home win in the brackets and quoting odds for the away win. It is YOUR responsibility to put your selection down correctly and not the admin's job to try to guess what your intentions were.

Likewise, it is your responsibility to put down the correct odds. Random checks will be made every week. Anyone incorrectly quoting odds lower than they should be will have any winning bets settled at those lower odds. Anyone incorrectly quoting odds that are obviously greater than they should be, will not be allowed to post further bets in that "season's" competition on the grounds that they are either trying to cheat or they have cocked up what really is a very simple instruction and they don't deserve to win anyway. The "minimum play rule - see rule 8" will then apply if relevant.

2. ODDS

All odds are taken from the Doxxbet book, the list of odds will not be posted on The Daily Punt. It is the players perogative to check the Doxxbet website & select the odds & post them up with the selection in the relevant thread. The odds in the book may obviously change during the week, but you take the selected odds @ the time of the post. The administrators, not to mention the other players are around enough to notice when a price sticks out, & Tip-Ex or the Racing Post will settle any odds queries.

3. LIST OF FIXTURES

Anything that Doxxbet offers on football, we will accept, providing it kicks off in the window of 6pm friday & 10pm sunday British time, nothing outside of this window will be accepted. If you cannot find a game on the Doxxbet site & it is not listed in the list below, that game cannot be selected. In the case of internationals or a strange week ie xmas, the rules for that week will be announced in advance.

Any changes from this, ie International weeks will be advised at the time but the Internationals will be included, as will the FA Cup, but we will clarify on Mainland European cups as we go. All games are settled @ 90 mins play. If Doxxbet choose not to offer a book on a certain match within a division, neither will we....I am thinking in particular of the end of season Italian draws @ Evens.

4. COMPETITION DURATION

From the starting date of August 9th, the divisions will commence, being organised from last seasons finishing positions. From then on seasons will run in 10 weekly intervals, as follows:
TC 1: 9th August - 11th October
TC 2: 18th October - 20th December
TC 3: 27th December - 28th February
TC 4: 7th March - 9th May

If a tie should occur in a relegation/promotion position, after 2 decimal places, it will be decided as a play off in the following weeks midweek fixtures, at the discretion of the admins.

5. POSTPONED OR ABANDONED MATCHES

If a player bets on a match which is postponed or abandoned at any time that match will be disregarded from the bet. For example a double would then become a single etc same as the bookies would treat the bet.

If a player is unfortunate enough to have any or all of his selections postponed or abandoned, he will not be affected by the minimum play rule. Substituting matches which are postponed is not allowed if the bet has already started ie in a double, one game has finished before the other is postphoned, unless it is a single & the game has yet to kick off.

6. EDITING OF BETS

If you make a mistake when posting a bet eg with the odds, you should show the correction in a separate post. Under no circumstances are selection changes to be made. Any bet altered will be declared void.

7. BANK

The start bank of each player is 200 points, & all bets will be made in points. A maximum bet in each week is half of the players available bank, no more, be it single, double or treble. The minimum bet in each week (excepting no bets, see below) is 10 points, unless half the remaining bank is less than 10 points, this is to deter a player landing a big treble on week 1 & betting 1 point bets from then on.

8. MINIMUM PLAY RULE

As some would argue that a no bet is as strategic as a winning bet, each 10 week season will be allowed 2 no bets.
In the interests of fair play, however (ie.someone getting a treble in week 1 & not betting again) the following stipulations will apply:
3 no bets in 10 weeks - player cannot be promoted & will remain in the same division unless relegated
4 no bets in 10 weeks - player will be relegated 1 division regardless of finishing position
5 no bets in 10 weeks - player will be removed from the competition but may rejoin in the bottom division if he so wishes

9. FINAL 2 WEEKS EACH SEASON

If the player feels it is necessary, he may send his final 2 bets to the administrators by PM. This will be pointed out closer to the time.

As part of The Daily Punt's agreement with Doxxbet - each competitor must register and open a player’s account with DOXX Bet before being able to participate in the competitions (trying to make this optional - will let you know). note: Upon registration, the 'bank' fields at the bottom of the registration form are optional.

Prizes will be credited to the competitor’s player’s account as opened with DOXX Bet within 30 days from when the winners are announced on The Daily Punt website.
