Explaining the scam he said: "Let me tell you the last test we did. It was the Second Test against Australia in Sydney. Australia had two more wickets left. They had a lead of ten runs, yeah. And Pakistan had all their wickets remaining.
"The odds for Pakistan to lose that match, for Australia to win that match, were I think 40-1. We let them get up to 150 then everyone lost their wickets. That one we made 1.3. But that's what I mean, you can get up to a million. Tests is where the biggest money is because those situations arise." Majeed then continued to detail how he runs his slick operation. Reporter: "Do we get information like there will be three no-balls in the third over?" Majeed: "Of course, everything. And you get the indication to show if it's on or not. They'll change gloves at a certain point." Reporter: "You will be relaying it." Majeed: "Yeah, it all comes through me. We don't do results that often. The last one we did was against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup which was about two months ago. And you get a script as well." Reporter: "What does that mean, a script?" Majeed: "This bowler is going to concede this many runs, this batsman will do this." |

Re: Pakistan vs Australia 2nd Test Match 21/07/2010
There`s that much sub continent cash going around on these games that its bound to attract bribes for corruption!
Imagine if your a dodgy sri lankan bookie, whos taken a 1 sided book on say a bang infor India to pummel an out of sorts New Zealand, at all rates from say 1.90 into 1.50, and you havent taken a penny on the all blacks - what are you gona do ??? Sit back and take a 500million hit, or pay a few indian players a mill each to throw attempt to throw the game and make yourself 490mill ?? Its a no brainer. I know there`s loads of other dodgy goings on with wides/dropped catched etc , but imvho it all stemmed from that. Then when they got the players in their pockets, the Cronjes etc, they started offering markets on number of wides per over etc ,and that way could manipulate their pocketed players without having to affect the outcome of the match to much. That Sydney test was very blatant. When those last 2 men were batting I remember the commentator saying that the captain appeared to be completely clueless, letting Auss get the runs without appearing to be trying to stop them ,or to take the wickets. And the Akmal dropped catches were clearly cheating! And then they come to England, and play 4 tests - they dont want to appear to throw them all - so the 1 test they actually try in , they actually beat England and play very well. Again Akmal clearly upto no good , and he wants burning on a cross outside the PCB. Its greed ,plain and simple, and those passionate supporters will never forget. Legalise betting in that part of the world if you want to stop the corruption, or at least make it less blatant. I think I traded that Auss game for a small loss, cant remember now, but it makes you think! Fuckers |

A lot of them are just looking for money, women and food. Fcuking scum, ban them for life.. |

ICC charge three players under Anti-Corruption code
Fri, Sep 3, 2010 1:45 AM The International Cricket Council has charged three Pakistan players with various offences under Article 2 of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code for Players and Player Support Personnel relating to alleged irregular behavior during, and in relation to, the fourth Test between England and Pakistan at Lord's last month. The three players, Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir, have been officially notified of the offences they are alleged to have committed and have been provisionally suspended pending a decision on those charges. In accordance with the provisions of the code, this means they are immediately barred from participating in all cricket and related activities until the case has been concluded. The players have a right to contest this provisional suspension and a further opportunity to defend these charges at a full hearing before an independent Anti-Corruption Tribunal in accordance with Article 5 of the code. The players have 14 days from their receipt of the charge sheet to indicate their desire for a hearing. Any player ultimately found to be guilty of committing an offence under the code would be subject to the sanctions described in Article 6 of the code. In this case, the alleged offences, if proved, would involve the imposition of a ban. There is also a possibility, at the discretion of the independent tribunal, that a fine would be imposed in addition to a ban. ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat said: "We will not tolerate corruption in cricket - simple as that. We must be decisive with such matters and if proven, these offences carry serious penalties up to a life ban. The ICC will do everything possible to keep such conduct out of the game and we will stop at nothing to protect the sport's integrity. While we believe the problem is not widespread, we must always be vigilant. "It is important, however, that we do not pre-judge the guilt of these three players. That is for the independent tribunal alone to decide." Details of the date and location of the tribunal hearing (as well as its composition) will be finalised in due course. The ICC Anti-Corruption Code for Players and Player Support Personnel was updated and strengthened in 2009 with the unanimous support of ICC Members. |

Re: Pakistan vs Australia 2nd Test Match 21/07/2010
The Pakistani cricket commissioner -a diplomat- has just been interviewed on 5live. He's questioned the players at length and has reached the conclusion that they are "100% innocent" regardless of the strange coincidences. That's alright then!
He added that the players are possibly taking legal action against the NotW paper, suggesting that the allegations in the paper were cooked up, citing the bugging case etc. True comedy from a pakistani diplomat! |
