Today we have
Australia vs Bangladesh @ 2:30pm and
South Africa vs Afghanistan @ 6:30pm
Both games look like walkovers at very very short odds for the Aussie`s and the Boks, though it isnt advised in this type of event, especially given current conditions and the last few days games being rain affected meaning freak duckworth/lewis results.
So we look elsewhere for a few bets, and we look at the top batsmen markets. The fact that no one`s ever sure what a good score is, or even what a good start is, and given the small amount of balls bowled in each innings (just 120), its crucial to go for practically every shot wherever possible, which inevitably means early wickets, and the openers looks dodgy as they have to take risks trying to get boundaries in the power plays, and they have to face the pace bowlers and new ball. This leaves value options down below in the order.
Both games as stated look likely to be one sided and there`s risks involved in my advised bets if the outsiders bat first as they may only get a paltry total, leaving the classier opposition under no pressure and the lower down batsmen im tipping may not get a bat, or may not have enough balls to top score even if they do, but I still feel its well worth the risk given the odds on offer.
Banladesh are decent bowlers and may well foil a few of the aussies but they have a lot of spin and once the ball gets old they get well take a pummeling in the middle and end overs. So we go for
David Hussey @ 7/1 Cameron White @ 8/1 and
Michael Hussey @ 8/1. The aussies pace bowlers will knock the Banglas openers over quite soon id expect which leaves the middle order again to pick up the pieces.
Imrul Kayes @ 6/1,
Mohamed Mahmudullah @ 8/1, and
Aftab Ahmed @ 8/1 are the 3 im going with. All 3 can hit it, and given a bit of luck one of them can have a good run.
I cant see the Afghans getting too much joy against the Boks top order tbh and
Jaques Kallis @ 3/1 just stays there ans doesnt take risks so he must be included - the odds though mean I can only advise 1 other selection in the perm ,and its a toss up between Bosman and Smith. Bosmans a liablity though he will probably open so im going with
Graham Smith @ 3/1. The afghans are very limited but have a few sluggers. The opening bat is awfuly short @ 7/4 given he`ll be facing Steyn and Morkel early doors and theres surely value so im gona plump for 4 outsiders.
Karim Sadiq @ 8/1, Shaboor Noori @ 10/1, Mohamed Nabi @ 8/1, and Raees Ahmadzai @ 10/1.
Perm those for 72 bets and cross everything you`ve got !! Those odds posted are from oddschecker and are the best available.
