Just thought i'd start a thread... i'm away to ponder it all now.

Had a bit of a look into this & feel the odds are a bit one way, obviously in Indias favour.
Reasons for this are that although the last series in India ended in a 5-1 drubbing it was a very different England side than it is now, ie Blackwell, Plunkett, Kabir Ali & Freddy as skipper. I think the wheels came off a bit there tbh.
Despit that drubbing India only lead 16-13 in their own country.
The 2 sides havent met at this ground. Pitch is reported as 'soft but should have a bit of bounce in it' ....interesting.
2 key factors for me are that Bells record vs India is outstanding, & I think Sambit Patel could be useful as well. Also India could still be on a high after beating the Aussies on monday.
To my mind England are the value bet. Yes India are rightly favourites, but 1.55 ?? Not with my money.
I'm going in with smallish stakes on England @ 2.78 & Bell HS @ 5.2.
If I could be arsed to get up at 3:30 & check we were bowling I'd go in heavier, but as it is.....

I agree entirely on the odds Swoops... the last tour, the last warm-up and the T20 debacle all influencing that i think.

I don't like to go steaming in too much on the 1st match of a series, particularly when England haven't played sensible cricket in a bit but a couple of things catch the eye.

Series bet: Flintoff Performance 395+ 7pts @ 5/6

I think a few personal issues to iron out after his last visit will make him even more up for it than usual if that's possible. He'll want to score a competitive ton as well and batting at 5 he should have plenty of chances.

1st ODI: India Most 6's 4pts @ 2.1
Most firms go odds-on for this, India have more big hitters than England and if they fire then this has a splendid chance.

I concur that England are the value punt... i just have to have a dabble at the price.

If England win toss (bound to insert) then they have a top chance in this. Will then consider selling India runs if put up around 245.

England have deep penetrative & containing bowling strength and bat down to Broad at 9.

That was shite. Fred gets a bad decision to get the series bet off to a shocker and England get, to use the technical term, absolutely humped.

6's bet absolutely trotted up mind so that's something... i'm guessing they wont be offering 2.1 about mondays game.... quick check shows 1.8. Yep, that price at least requires some thought.

I've thought long & hard about this 3rd match & was on the point of laying India @ 1.48....then luckily I decided it was a stupid thing to do as although they might win its hard to back England at the moment.
