Hello just to mention what i am finishing up here. One or 2 of you will know
the problems and rifts that the frontpage has caused between me and most of you.
I dont want to go over or it all or more likely i just dont want to think about
it and i avoid it so i will continue to do so.

Anyhow i am posting this from the frontpage and with a bit of work it should
just look like normal post to you if i am capable of a normal post these days.
If you wish to use the frontpage to submit anything then your more than welcome
and of course i positively encourage it. It maybe be via one 'content type' or
another but the bottom line is its all tied in and its a post.

The forum is the worst thing in the world for google and i aint helped.
Anyhow to make up for that i am promising you all a super duper google rich
frontpage (in time) Aye so i'm gonna become a frontpage dweller from now on. I
will have to sharpen the brain a bit and i think a change of personal
circumstances can go along with it. Take me another week to get it in some kind
of order. Actually i aint here to talk about that. Im here to mention that your

And use the user friendly input form. Upload a picture with your post. It
will resize it. If you wish you can use (this dreaded word) the 'blog'
submission form for some of your 'meatier' posts and it will automatically post
it as normal and also you get to have a record of it all like jbgb007UK's
'record' which was created when i imported one of his forum posts

Ive got a funny feeling these links wont come through but i will look at

so what does it all mean? I dunno. It's just the best frontpage and forum
interaction that we can have. At the very basic level people just posting a few
more nice match write-ups etc. They will just appear as nomal posts and both
share the same commentin g system. also i get my rss out that ive always wanted.
Every single post on our feed will be a betting preview (well under the betting
preview rss) this means a far greater audience for everyone. Be bloody great as
our rss will be bloody great. well it will be better than what we have now and
thats just a post of odds as only the 1st post appears in a rss feed.

In time the 'blog' feature will morph into a betitng record type of thing.
one wth loads of filters and fields for folks to play around with.see who's got
the best record in Scotland for their tipss this season as thats what people
want to know. don't worry this all entrely optional and frontpage based. the
only discomfort that you will recieve is far more posts in the betting forums
and as i say you wont be able to distuguish if someone has posted from the forum
or from the frontpage. People choose what forum to post their 'post' in and
they can even choose what thread. that will stop any changes happening to the
Brit forum heirachry(??)

I want to start making stars out you all and i will be pushing you on the
frontpage with profiles and merchandise etc. I was hoping to follow Bettingzone
with their 'Today's Tips'. A place that people visit daily irrespective of whats
going on in forumland etc. the forum feeds the frontpage and the frontpage feeds
the forum. I want folks to bookmark us and visit each day. we can take it from
there. Folks like easy tips and thats what we'll have on fp. I haven thought too
much about the mechanics of it ut you'll choose a date and it will appear at
automatically at 8pm every evening for the next day and so on etc

Anyhow i will go and crack on. You shouldnt see anything to affect the forum
in any negative way and hopefullyin a week or so's time i will get it finished
and then fcuk off for 6 months and give you all peace.

bloody hell i think ive fixed the whole place (touch wood) Place is flying for me now. I dont think it had anything to do with the forum upgrade nor the frontpage software. It was to do with the new theme (skin) I wont bore you with the 'html talk' but suffice to say that every little image(the red and the black bars) where all loking for a http://thedailpunt.com/image etc etc when infact they shoulkd have just been loking for /image as they are now. What i understand it to mean is that everytime you turned a page on TDP it was trying to 'reach out' to the internet and connect with these image files when infact all it needed to do was pop along to the next folder on the server and there the images were. this would mean that 50 folks could be trying to load 50 images all at he same time and i think that was too may 'calls' on the server. Well i hope i'm right and i think i am. this would be great if thats us back in shape. if we sussed this out when wee put the skin on it could have saved some fuss
