Hello as i mentioned elsewhere (i'll delete that) we've got a link directory set up here-

I will remove the articles part unless i (we?) can think of something we can use it for. Why do we need a link directory? Theyre 40 years old komp and so web 1.0 wtf are you having one of them for? My answer would be that they werent that old when i started to want one on TDP () and they do run themselves. I could have made it on a non 'reciprocal' (anyone can add any link) basis and actually made it quite interesting and good but we've got that elsewhere and it isnt that good. this is on a link for link basis and i think website and blog owners still like these sort of things and the more links to TDP the better (im worried about the need to link to the directory and not TDP home page but ill check that out in a bit) Anyhow the more links to TDP the better and i dont think thats in any doubt.

so i'll need to make it as all encompassing as we can. I dont know if its negative for non betting sites to link to us and if anyone knows then i'd love to know. I was thinking of expanding it to cover 'betting/gambling' 'sports' and then having an 'other' category. My categories are a right mess and all over the place so if anyone has any ideas on creating a bit of prder to the procedings then that would be a great help. anyhow here's the cats to the one i made last night and broke along the way-

as you can see its a right mess. Blos in football i think were supposed to be 'Betting Blogs' in ??????. 'Sports Betting' i now see is differant from 'Betting' and ...we'll i think i'll have to get it sorted from scratch. Football is in sports betting' then and Poker is in 'Betting' . then again 'football' is a sport and i want football sites to add themselves fo football will have to be a top level cat. so we have ..all the Sports....Betting...Sports Betting..bah i shouldnt have had that big smoke before attempting this.

shit i should have made the instal directory just 'directory' I'll go see if i can move it. link_directory looks so tacky. If i have to reinstall it i will. actually i will go and reinstall it in /directory/ and use this install for a test directory. There's loads of modules available to add 'last 5 links in x category' etc but theyre not free and a bugger to find. Hopefully get this done for tea time and ill go get myself prepared for the poker tournement tonight (see poker forum for details)

ps can a mod tell me if you have the admin powers to make announcements (like Dan's Poker one)? We need to look into that too. Not announcements specificaly but optomising moderator priviliges.

infact a full list of what you can do in your admin would be great. I'll search google for 'vbulletin moderator plugin' and hopefully find something that lets us just disallow the 'delete the whole place' button. Not that you would be daft enough to use it but come on how pissed off have you been with me in your time? 'right im off - boooom!'

i forgot to mention that the reason why we need a link directory is because we need links and we need people to just add them with no manpower required on our parts. this will be TDP's first contact with a small site to a big site. there will be an easy contact form there for future link discussion. We can go to folks but all the while we have a system set up for folks to come to us too. Off topic i am thinking of becoming a fulltime blood and organ and marrow donor. The government will love me. I just give everything away and they can talk with me and make life easy for me. Probably lock me up (i shouldnt laugh)

so we've still got my list of earlier and i think the links and reviews probs could be sorted. To add is 'mods admin'. Also that login box top left of forum is worrying me slick. If we have to have it there cant we have a slim one? actually its surely temporary only isnt it? Folks will be wondering what it's doig there i think. It looks like its fallen of the internet page above ours on the net. If we just keep a tight grip on it all and tick them off as we go then it will be job almost done (on that side of things) lets go go. Watch this dynamism folks. Its a 'betting directory' so i need to remove the 'betting' from the top level categories i already have so i must remember that before i look at the list. nah i cant get my head aound the bottom level of it all. Sports betting is differant from Sports. Maybe it is not a 'betting dorectory' then. I think i forgot what i mentioned earlier (fcuk you see why i dissappear for weeks on these things. Ill delete it all 10 times and start again)

Right ill go look at the list from the other site and apply it to our cats and see if it expands it any. I think we'll need a Other Games of sorts.

Booksellers - dunno if that should go in each cat or on its own. Maybe as its own and then in that you have all the other cats.

I suppose being linked on sports sites is what its all about. David McReady pops into his local badmiton forum only to see a link to The Daily Punt on its links page. He clicks and suddenly he's telling us how great Costa rica are at badmiton and to get on at 10/1 for the next badmiton world cup. bollocks im getting the same error as i got the last install slick When i click submit when submitting 'aussie soccer stats' i get that horrible thing when it tries to open the submit.php file. It was ok when i first installed it last night. I did manage to add ass to it and with ease too. Anothe bloody stick in my spokes. linkscaffepro really looks like the one to get slick. it would suit us. cant get it anywhere. found the chinese version and nothing else. while im on the subject we need to add something else to our to do list-

Slick i give up on the reciporacal links thingy. Give it a bash yourself. It needs to be SEO Friendly, automated reciprical checking and well i dunno have some nice modules about the page showing the links etc. This one would be ideal i suppose
