TDP Homepages

Ive binned this idea
http://www.thedailypunt.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=102481

and went for the front page option instead. I think that this will be a lot better. Good to see some of you getting stuck in already. I think im gonna go and enable everyone so as you all can just fart a bout with whatever im adding today. We can sort it all out later all i sask is that you dont spend too much time on anytthing and dont think of it as permanenet at the mo as it could all get deleted. This homepage looks good though so it should be here to stay i hope. Have a tinker with it and let me see what it's capable of. Ill make it so as it auto updates without admin approval etc

any questions then just add them to mine and between us all we'll get there

Re: TDP Homepages

also we'll not be allowing you to upload music as we cant use any extra resurces on this perk. If you want to add music then get a www.ripway.com account (fake email req) and then just post in your url's

Re: TDP Homepages

if someone can make a page up to see if i can comment it would be appreciated. Failing that does anyone see a way to comment on my pages? Dont worry about us deleting any pages as i dont think we will have to. i think thats it all near enough as it is. Lots to learn about what you can add etc but we'll get there. Its only on the front page for now and will be moved folks. i need to make way for all the other stuff see

Re: TDP Homepages

I'm still looking at the comment business. Ive got it set so as you the user approves the comments but i cant see where to comment etc. I will though. So if you see anything like an ability to comment then please do. We can tidy everything up later.

Welcome to TDP MEMBER HOMEPAGE for the first time
This page is only shown the first time you use TDPHP. It is designed to help you get started with setting up your site.

Please read all of this before continuing!

Your site has now been set up with some default text, no pages have been setup yet. Here are the steps you should follow to get a working site.

Click on the icon below and you should now see the control panel for your site.

From here you can change your site name and enter a description.

Once you have done that, you are now ready to start creating pages.

A dropdown below the Create new page button allows you to choose the type of page you want to create, e.g standard html page, rss feeds, gallery etc. N.B. The page creation options may have been limited by your administrator.

Pick the type of page and then click the Create new page button.

Complete the entries on that page and save it - That's it you have created a one page site!

If you create a music page you will not be able to upload a file. TDP does NOT host mp3 files or any other audio file for that matter. Sites like Ripway (fake email req ) host mp3 files though i believe but not The Daily Punt. There is however an option to link to an audio file uploaded to a site such as Ripway on your music member page but please remember to read Ripways rules on copyright etc. Any problems take it up with them.

Re: TDP Homepages

i dont really know whats the best waty to go with it now. i changed the contact page for now with a 'repositry page' which is just a static page i think. I made a title 'betting record' but i aint too sure about that now. I like the idea but i havent thought on how to get the best out of it.

Anyone any ideas?

Re: TDP Homepages

i accidently enabled our first 50 members as homepage creators. I never realised and say that aliensyndrome and Gettinglots and Slick and Mick had created one and i thought 'bloody hell this IS popular isnt it?' with a big smile on my face and the freedom of speech being taken to the onlie limit ringing in my ears/eyes. then i realised what i had done. It could be a good thing. I'll leave it as that though and won't autoactivate anymore. Im looking at getting inactive Member Sites off the list too. There would need to be a page created on them to show but that makes sense really.

'look at The Doc in there he wasn't slow was he he hah ahh hahhah' I think i announced at the screen Doc

Re: TDP Homepages

Im all for just letting folks have whatever on their page. I think i would even go as far to say that they can even just have bits from their sites on there. Folks know where to come and see them and i'm all for people that peruse the internet sports gambling forums to be able to come and go as they wish and i aint bothered if their such and such forum/site through and through i only care about what they do when their on TDP and i'm sure they all are well versed in conducting themselves.

Re: TDP Homepages

I think i should make a copy of it and maybe try and think of ways to use it to encourage internet participation. I'm sure it could be used for other things with a bit of tweaking. We could totally recrate it on another page with diff 'members'. What would these 'memebers' want to sign up for. to be the most rated and viewed pages on the net and thats what we have 'Davies Preview Page' etc

Re: TDP Homepages

adding vid tags

* For YouTube use: {youtube}video_id{/youtube} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdXTDovB9K8 then your video_id is cdXTDovB9K8, that means, again just the number at the end of the link!

* For iFilm use: {ifilm}video_id{/ifilm} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2732615 then your video_id is 2732615, that means, yes you've guessed too, just the number at the end of the link!

* For Google Video use: {google}video_id{/google} For example if the link on your browser displays http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...25506469882756 then your video_id is -3406925506469882756, that means the characters that come after "docid=". Please note that in some cases there might be a minus sign (-) before the last sequence of digits or not!

* For Yahoo! Video use: {yahoo}video_id{/yahoo} For example if the link on your browser displays http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vi...155220&cache=1 then your video_id is 1155220&cache=1, that means, everything that is AFTER the last DOT on the link!

* For local Google Video sites (like Google Video France) use: {google.TLD}video_id{/google} and replace "TLD" with "co.uk", "com.au", "de", "es", "fr", "it", "nl" or "pl", depending on the local Google Video service. For example if the link on your browser displays http://video.google.fr/videoplay?doc...25506469882756 then your video_id is -3406925506469882756, that means the characters that come after "docid=". You then write inside the editor: {google.fr}-3406925506469882756{/google.fr}. Please note that in some cases there might be a minus sign (-) before the last sequence of digits or not!

* For Vimeo use: {vimeo}video_id{/vimeo} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.vimeo.com/clip:78198 then your video_id is 78198, that means, yes you are a genius, again just the number at the end of the link!

* For Metacafe use: {metacafe}video_id/video_name{/metacafe} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.metacafe.com/watch/143709..._knocked_down/ then your video_id/video_name is 143709/i_get_knocked_down. That is a tricky one because you need to ommit the last slash (/)! Be careful with this one!

* For Bolt Video use: {boltvideo}video_id{/boltvideo} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.bolt.com/wakey1989/video/..._new_all_PAGE1 then your video_id is 1293961. For Bolt Audio (music) use: {boltaudio}video_id{/boltaudio} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.bolt.com/MeLo-X/audio/121...ED_audio_PAGE1 then your video_id is 1214080.

* For Bofunk use: {bofunk}video_id{/bofunk} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.bofunk.com/video/3466/he_..._can_sing.html then your video_id is 3466. Bofunk uses ASX files to stream content.

* For Break use: {break}video_name{/break} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.break.com/index/rally41.html then your video_name is rally41. Break uses Windows Media Video (WMV) to stream content.

* For Jumpcut use: {jumpcut}video_id{/jumpcut} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.jumpcut.com/view?id=E227D...F94E6A17CD0207 then your video_id is E227D48AF9B111DABAF94E6A17CD0207.

* For Current TV use: {currenttv}video_id{/currenttv} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.current.tv/studio/media/2144246 then your video_id is 2144246.

* For Revver use: {revver}video_id{/revver} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.revver.com/video/29572/ then your video_id is 29572.

* For College Humor use: {collegehumor}video_id{/collegehumor} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1714080 then your video_id is 1714080.

* For MyVideo.de use: {myvideo}video_id{/myvideo} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.myvideo.de/watch/17290 then your video_id is 17290.

* For Sevenload.de use: {sevenload}video_id{/sevenload} For example if the link on your browser displays http://sevenload.de/videos/ZHNTpBZ then your video_id is ZHNTpBZ.

* For Stickam use: {stickam}video_id{/stickam} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.stickam.com/editMediaComm...&mId=174010582 then your video_id is 174010582.

* For Krazyshow use: {krazyshow}video_id{/krazyshow} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.krazyshow.com/media/playv...CBED7B6EC738F9 then your video_id is AF8BCC6F96F04A4ABECBED7B6EC738F9 (after &cid).

* For GameTrailers use: {gametrailers}video_id{/gametrailers} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.gametrailers.com/umwatcher.php?id=3542 then your video_id is 3542.

* For MySpace Video Code use: {myspacevideocode}video_id{/myspacevideocode} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.myspacevideocode.com/v-36...on-delight.php then your video_id is 3673.

* For FreeVideoBlog use: {freevideoblog}video_id{/freevideoblog} For example if the link on your browser displays http://video.freevideoblog.com/video...51fab7215d.htm then your video_id is 06d6ce03-a0db-44e5-9afd-cb51fab7215d.

* For Streetfire Videos use: {streetfire}video_id{/streetfire} For example if the link on your browser displays http://videos.streetfire.net/video/c...147e71ab0e.htm then your video_id is cf324233-408a-4e93-8c02-29147e71ab0e.

* For Crossroad Videos use: {crossroad}video_id{/crossroad} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.crossroadvideos.com/video...a9d1a2ad76.htm then your video_id is 2fabf084-ef82-4e63-a094-c8a9d1a2ad76.

* For Dropshots use: {dropshots}browser_link{/dropshots} For Dropshots we use the whole browser link, for example http://www.dropshots.com/day.php?use...2&ctime=050513, because this is the easiest way to embed video. You see, Dropshots uses variables inside the link that would otherwise need to be "found" inside the browser link. And our "motto" for the plugin is "no HTML-hassle" at all! So using some extra PHP code, we "clean up" the link and embed the variables correctly in Joomla's content. So all you have to do is just paste the whole link and that's it!

* For UUme use: {uume}video_id{/uume} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.uume.com/play_0p7PhcCcJ2ra then your video_id is 0p7PhcCcJ2ra.

* For Tudou.com use: {tudou}video_id{/tudou} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/T7tcywVL8P0/ then your video_id is T7tcywVL8P0.

* For Seehaha use: {seehaha}video_id{/seehaha} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.seehaha.com/play/19787 then your video_id is 19787.

* For QuXiu use: {quxiu}video_id{/quxiu} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.quxiu.com/mov/V12285.htm then your video_id is 12285 (without the 'V').

* For WangYou.com use: {wangyou}video_id{/wangyou} For example if the link on your browser displays http://v.wangyou.com/play.php?id=1773127 then your video_id is 1773127.

* For Mofile TV use: {mofile}video_id{/mofile} For example if the link on your browser displays http://tv.mofile.com/QM66Q9O8/ then your video_id is QM66Q9O8.

* For Biku use: {biku}video_id{/biku} For example if the link on your browser displays http://www.biku.com/opus/59150.html then your video_id is 59150.
