Re: Trying to learn SH cash games..

Another hand here im in doubt about....

My read on Hermanatorz is he raises A LOT pre flop.. And also on the flop.. Anything from 2-7$
And with all kind of hands... A couple of hands before this one he raised to 6$ with 83o and took the pot down preflop....

As you can see from his starting chips he has 462$ before this hand... Max buy in is 100$
So he has won a lot... But it was in the beginning for me at the table.. He won 2hands in a row with flush for over 100$ in each....

Just want to know if i had a chance to get out of this, or i was meant to loose from the beginning..

No hes just a total jammy cnut. To get all your money in on the flop and you be behind he had to flop a straight or a flush, which obv as you know is dead unlikely, so just a tragic flop for you. Its very tough to get away from your QQ there.

Nah I agree with muse here cains. Your read is fine, against a very tight player you could maybe get away when he raises that flop - but no way against this player, I would have gone broke there as well

Comments: Im on the button, so i have position.. And would be okay to just take it down there..
Pot 8,5$ on flop.. He bets 3$ I have nut flush draw.. No doubt in my mind he problably didnt hit, or have A5,A7 as possible hands.. With that small bet, im ready to just call and take the next card.. He bets small again... so now its about 17$ and i have to call 3$ to get the river card.. Thats okay for me again.. But im in doubt of one thing here though... Should i have come over the top here, and make a pot size raise here???
The check on river = weakness for me.. So deceided to give it a try..

My Comments.: As you can see on the time, this hand is only 2min after the other with rockets.
They didnt see my aces last time.. This time im on the button. So much better position wise.. I only raised to 15 because they only raised to 4.. Was a bit surprised to see 2 callers, but blackvote has been raising a lot preflop, and postflop earlier on, so he could have anything..
Was so glad to see no straight or flush draws.. But with the 7$ bet into a 46,5$ pot worried me a bit.. Did he hit a set... So reraised half the pot.. Thought that would take him out, or he would go all in...
He just calls... That worried me a bit.. Also since he moved all in on the turn... Did he just trap me to take the most of my money?? Hmm with 106$ in the pot.. And he is all in with 28$ i just have to call.. If he has a set, then its just crap.. Luckily he didnt. :
Should i have moved him all in on the flop??

Thats if for now..

Re: Trying to learn SH cash games..

Just a quick reply after scanning quickly there. You played both AA hands spot on preflop, dont worry if they fold cos you bet hard, yeah sometimes you wont get a call but rather win a pot than slowplay and win nothing at all or lose a lot especially OOP in the blinds.

Second AA, yeah move him in on the flop, it didnt make any difference here but yeah move him in.

Re: Trying to learn SH cash games..

Hi cains,

Great thread you have going here.

Hand 1: Raise on the flop definately - he could easily fold here, and even if he doesnt you have a great draw/position (can check behind on the turn if you miss here). As you played it no way I raise the turn, thats a pretty unusual line.

Hand 2: How you played it is ok, but you can raise on the flop as well. This one is up to you, if you have been playing tight and not given any action yet you might as well try it as they will probably fold which is the best result. Raising in hand 1 is better as you were the PFR there but here is ok as well.

Hand 3:Standard here - your reraise was fine dont worry about it m8. I would not try and get tricky with AA OOP And multiway, its just asking for trouble (by tricky I mean flat calling the first raise) - you played this one fine, just got no action.

Hand 4: Is nice and standard as well, good to get a payoff with AA soon after the frustration of hand 3.

Keep em coming mate this is a good thread

Just seconds after my bet on turn i though.... WHY!!!! If has a better hand than me he will call.. If he doesnt. He will fold... Or ????

One of the reasons for this high bet, was this hand i had a few hands before this one against the same opponent.
And yes i played this hand very bad......

Re: Trying to learn SH cash games..

I don't have a problem with the way you played either hand cains.

Hand 1 - you can't give him a free card there IMO so your turn bet is fine - there are so many draws there aren't many cards which aren't gonna scare you on the river, and if he bets you face a real decision, and not an easy one. You have to bet strong IMO - if you get check raised then you can probably chuck it(not cheaply mind, but still), if he calls whilst drawing then you are giving him poor odds for it, and if he folds as he did and which is most likely to happen, you pick up a decent pot. If you check, then you are only ever going to pick up the same size pot, but your chances of doing so are much smaller.

Hand 2 - your bet is ok - i'll usually bet suited flops if heads up in a pot, because as scary as it looks to you, a suited flop + bet looks even scarier to an opponent and you'll get a fold from him most of the time there. Maybe less so with a Q and K there in a raised pot, but taking a shot there is legitimate IMO. Having raised it preflop if you check then you are as good as giving it up anyway.

After he calls then I think you are right to leave it at that...his final bet looks priced to tempt a call, probably from a strong flush made on the turn, so again I don't see a fault there.

So yeah, overall both hands look ok to me, but thats just my opinion.

Re: Trying to learn SH cash games..

Sorry for the long time before reply cains m8.

Hand 1 dont worry about it. You definately have to bet that turn hard. I would be doing so there with top set let alone KK. It is a far better play than the alternative of giving a free card.

Hand 2. Against one lone opponent a bet is not bad here but I would be inclined just to check. I hate the fact the board is one tone when you dont hold any of that suit at all. If you did the bet would be automatic of course but here you are liable to get called a lot I feel which leaves you wondering where you are (and unable to play a big pot - even if you hit your hand he might have a flush already)
