Re: Scottish Play-Offs: 1/2nd May

Fcuk im still about 2 weeks away from finishing what im doing and then ive got www.britfootball.com to go and sort. I cant see me doing much research into thse games.

all the prices seem to show what buggers of ties they all are. Ob be interested at Arbroath at QP. QP's nice passing game might again become undone by Arbroath who will be well up for this. Interested in what edin thinks and also in the reports between the 2 this season. I would have made that game 11/8 both ways too.

Brechion v Ardrie is a no no no for me. There's a wee bit of form to look at oin the Raith Stirling game but it looks horrible on paper to me the now. I know i hate backing against East Fife at home but Stranraer might just have too much for them imo. Im pretty sure Stranraer went there last year in the cup and won but i'll need to check. Stranraer top scorer (sat aside) moore had a bust up with the manager but i think it shows their passion. aye i could be interested in Stranraer especially if Mcrilly aint suspended.

anyone got any hard and fast thoughts on any of these games ?

Re: Scottish Play-Offs: 1/2nd May

Hmmmmmmmm...

Back to reality for Arbroath after missing the chance to win the league two Saturdays ago, and playing with a team full of reserves yesterday. I'm dismissing yesterday as a meaningless game as the manager was playing some fringe players who have just played their last games for the club.

Our record has been pretty damn good this season away from home, we have one of the best away records in Scotland (THE best before the Dumbarton game). Unfortunately for us, Queens Park have been on a similar great run lately.

Our players and fans were on a real high over the past few months when we were sneaking up the league, but a bit deflated now after the defeat at Berwick. A good performance is required on Tuesday night, and i'm sure the manager will have us well fired up for the game, as we came so close last season in the playoffs, and this season for top spot.

We've shared the points with QP this season, 2 wins each, with the last 3 being quite close affairs. We dominated the last game a few weeks ago though, and came away with a deserved 1-0 win.

We didn't play very well against Berwick to be honest, a lack of creativity and attacking opportunities, but a quick check of our results before then will show what a great run we've been on. I'm sure the manager can't afford to go out defensive like he has a couple of times recently, especially against such a good passing side as QP. We have to go there and try and get a result.

Team news - our player of the year Jamie Bishop will be missing on Tuesday annoyingly. He's a rock in the centre of defence, but misses out due to uni exams. Ian Dobbins should be able to step up though, slightly less physical, but a bit more skillful with the ball at feet. On a brighter note, midfielder Sellars is nearing full fitness, and should appear at some point during the playoffs. No other major injury worries, full strength team.

All in all, we shall be going to Hampden with a strong team, and looking for a good result after our amazing away form this season. i think the 7/4 available at ladbrokes looks quite tasty if anyone was interested (not looked anywhere else really, as oddschecker doesn't have playoff odds up). With so much at stake, i agree with komp that the odds should have been more evenly matched.

Arbroath @ 7/4+ at low stakes (but no-bet for me)

Re: Scottish Play-Offs: 1/2nd May

Danq is a Queens Parker is he?!

Like to hear what he thinks on the game. U going to it Danq?!

I was looking quickly for the 'to qualify' odds at any bookies, but didn't see any. Think Arbroath could be a good shout over 2 legs, if the odds were nice enough.

We've never lost a game in the league this season by more than 1 goal (bar yesterday), and with our ratio of wins to losses, you've got to hope, stats-wise anyway, we'd have a great chance.

bollocks my last post was wrongly posted 3 times Edin and i chose to delete one of them and it deleted all three

i just mentioned things about artistic license, danq hitting the bottle, feelings of enjoyment of smooth silky passy games and how the 7/4 on your team was probably about the same as your biggest price youve been at Queens park all season and how i will need to check out my 'alernative to betbase' thread in Betchat

Queens Park v Arbroath:
Queen's Park manager Billy Stark faces several late decisions on his team selection ahead of the first leg of their play-off clash with Arbroath.

Damiano Agostini missed the weekend win over Dumbarton after feeling his hamstring tighten up in the warm up and is rated doubtful for the clash, while Richard Sinclair has been struggling with an ankle injury and is touch and go to return.

Steven Reilly is also struggling with a hamstring problem which will be assessed nearer kick off.

Stark said: ``All our hard work now comes down to this. Both teams know one another, which is maybe a negative, but we are looking forward to the games.''

Arbroath manager John McGlashan has a clean bill of health for the Hampden Park clash.

Striker Alan Brazil, who missed the weekend defeat by East Fife, returns from suspension to take his place in the squad.

And McGlashan said: ``We had the luxury of being able to rest players on Saturday so everyone is now fresh and we find ourselves in an unusual position at the end of the season of having everyone fit.

``We played Alloa in a play-off scenario last season so we are not exactly new to it altogether but they will be two very tough games.``

Looks like that labrokes price is the best price Edin. Anyone got any under 2.5 goals odds?

Re: Scottish Play-Offs: 1/2nd May

Queens v Arbroath , this is a real tight game , no bet game if i was betting i would just back who was ever outsider , Queens like to spring Weatherson ,and Arbroath will have to watch him ,but i think Arbroath are capable of taking something, tight game. East F v Stranraer ,i think 11/8 Stranraer , they probably would not of been in this position if Moore had not been suspended for a long period earlier in the season, hes finding the net now and they aint in bad form. Raith v Stirling looks tight , think Stirling off key a bit , and Raith in good form , they key for me was the signing of M Andrews he has been a rock at the back for them another close game no bet. Brechin v Airdrie another close game no bet .

Re: Scottish Play-Offs: 1/2nd May

Sounds good to me Edin but then again i have to ask myself that old thing of value over errrr 'hope'? What i mean is i think that thes should be more closely priced but i aint really that confident about putting my money on anything. Arbroath is value at the price imo and if i was a long term strategist of sorts it would be something i would have to back to keep my % thingy going but i'm not so i don't know if i want to lose anything on Arbroath tonight.

Brill Expekt have their extra markets back for these games
