Re: Newcastle Managers Position

Le Guen is pretty far down the track with Rangers and is discussing a contract with them this week with Real Madrid looming in the background with a supposed offer. His wife, family and asst manager were all in Glasgow at the weekend looking at houses and the city. He is either going to confirm with Rangers in the next week or two or is using them to get Madrid to declare their hand. He won't be going to Newcastle IMO.

Re: Newcastle Managers Position

Crowie - aye possibly madrid. A man held in such high esteem in World Football would be mad to settle for a job like that. He doesnt need the money and there are better jobs surely up for grabs in the summer. I dunno who he will join but I suspect he is only using Rangers to get a better deal or like you say, force another club's hand.

Re: Newcastle Managers Position

As I said in the McLeish thread in TS AFU, I can't understand why he would come to Rangers as it would be a big step down IMO for a manager very much on the rise. I would have the same opinion if he was joining Celtic as well btw.

Jesus man! One of the first rules of successful betting is ALWAYS ensure you get the best price. If for example you have stuck a tenner on that bet and PLG does end up at Newcastle then you might make £400 from Hills but you would have made an extra £600 with Betfair. If your well enough off to not worry about potentially missing out on say £600 then fair play to you but if you bet like that long term then you will either lose money or you will be making less profits than you should be if your winning.

Even just a quick check on Oddschecker shows that he is 66/1 at BetDirect and 50/1 at Bet365 & Totesport.

Sorry for sounding like I am preaching or talking down to you but I always feel its the responsibility of more experienced punters, or people who have been punting for a longer time than you probably will have, on places like TDP to advise "newbies" or pick up on "mistakes" and believe me, not taking the best price is a biggie. Get yer paperwork sorted out and get it sent off to Betfair NOW, you won't regret getting it sorted long term.

Re: Newcastle Managers Position

Couldn't argue with Crowie there.

I for one used to just stick strictly with Corals for anything and everything and it limited my profits from my bets.

I soon got into having many accounts and allowing myself to get on the best price available.

Like Crowie says - long term you will notice the benefits

Re: Newcastle Managers Position

Yep..I think its something 90% of punters will do for the first few months, but with the number of amazing sign up bonuses available these days there isn't much excuse anymore.

I just wish I could take them all again

Re: Newcastle Managers Position

Beanie, open up a new current account (and get £25 for doing so, from say First Direct etc) Then open up betting accounts under a different address (say your nans) et Bob's your uncle.

Im not mate. Dont mind them really.

But they arent a 'force' and cant attract a top manager. Look at the last ones they have had, Souness, Robson, Gullit and Dalglish - hardly hot property.

Consistantly inconsistant
