Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
My god , are Arsenal still available at 2.1 , I really cant belive that price , so I'm off to check. Nope evens is the best you can get at Bet365.
Any give me any reason why Arsenal wont win this by more than 2 goals? In this form we all know they cant be touched least of all by a mediocre blues outfit with one eye on the beach. Will players be rested , well tha wont matter either IMO. Bergkamp in full flow has always made Arsenal tick and his touch looked spot on midweek. Henry must play to prove fitness oh the list goes on . Arsenal evens (8/10) |

Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
Looks a good bet. Arsenal have been flying again (without Henry too) after a prolonged indifferent spell and will want to keep it going for the cup final. Only a couple of bookies at evens now with the rest at 10/11. Currently 1.98 to back on betfair. Can see that shortening.

Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
Aye, shame I didn't act sooner, that 2.10 would have been a nice price. Just had a quick look at Tip Ex and Bet365 cut their price at 9.15pm on Wednesday night. Wonder after what Arsenal goal that was
![]() Canbet were actually 2.20 until 7.45am Thursday morning (they must not work nights ). Mind you wouldn't trust that lot anyway, they are "blacklisted" Old favourites Bet&Win actually started with Arsenal at 1.70 and Birmingham at 5.00 but pushed Arsenal out to 1.80 and then 1.90 on the 9th. Could have been on Birmingham at 5.00 and laid on Betfair at lower, over £4k matched on Brum at prices between 4.20 and 4.50, currently 4.70 to lay. |

Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
Southampton are 2.60 to back (betfair) with 2.64 being asked. Man Utd a week away from the cup final and on the back of a poor home performances against West Brom and Chelsea, will surely get at least a draw here. Saints are in a desperado situtation and are shipping goals.
A lay of the home side at 2.64 or possibly a bit less looks good value to me and I've taken some. What would the odds be in this fixture in the first week of the season? Matched at 2.62. I reckon Southampton true odds are around 4.25. Last edited by Parahandy : 14-05-2005 at 23:17. |

Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
I agree with the home win on WBA TrickRick.
WBA are the kind of side that fight for everything and they will simply want / need it more than the Portsmouth players who will already have one eye on their summer holidays. I don't like the price on WBA though so I might be tempted to steer clear. For the same reasons I fancy Spurs to beat Blackburn. Blackburn fight for everything under Hughes but they have nothing to play for now. Spurs still have a small chance of making 7th spot if Man City beat Boro by a slender margin and Spurs beat Blackburn by a margin 2+ goals bigger than the Man City win. In essence I see Blackburn players not fighting for everything in the same way as before they were safe from relegation. Again the price is on the skinny side so I might stay clear though. |

Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
I've finally decided that whilst WBA and Spurs should win today (given my reasons above) that their price is too small to warrant a punt from me.
So sniffing for value I've had a little look at the Man City and Boro game. Both sides come into the match with fairly decent recent form. Man City have only lost once under Pearce (in 8 games) and they are going for their 4th home win on the trot. Having said that Boro have not lost in their last 5 PL games either so a tight game is on the cards. Boro have lots of injuries but they tend to be the same long term ones that they have suffered from for a bit so I dont see how this impacts on the form stats too greatly. For the record the players out are as follows. Middlesbrough have nine players on the sidelines, including Joseph-Desire Job. They are also without Mark Viduka, Gaizka Mendieta, Malcolm Christie, Ross Turnbull, Brad Jones, Danny Graham, Chris Riggott and Andrew Davies. Man City have Richard Dunne out but Fowler is due to return. I would imagine Boro will come with a plan of keeping it tight and trying to hit Man City on the break. I think Boro are good enough at the back to keep Man City's chances limited and besides even that, I'm not sure if Man City are good enough to carve out chance after chance against Southgate and Ehiogu. Everything points to a draw here for me. A small wager on the 3.00 available as a result. |

Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
I agrree with you Gettin, i can see it being a draw and ill be devestated. One thing im sure about is our defence though. You take out the big three Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United and we have the best defence in the premiership (4th really but there miles ahead of everyone) So i can see it being a 0-0 Draw, if we can break them i cant see us not winning. 1-0, 2-0 and 3-0 our home results under Pearce. Must remember the SWP factor as well, he can break any defence at any time. The goals he's scored this season our absolutely astounding. I dont think im offering any betting advice here, i just like talking about City

Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
I've considered all that Chris and I am trying to envisage Man City swarming all over them and getting the goal. If City score I'm not sure they will end up 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 winners though. I can imagine that the natural inclination (through nerves more than anything) will be for City to get deeper and deeper. Given this scenario I'm not sure if they will be able to hold out.
Hmmmm. My head hurts. Still going for the draw though. Last edited by GETT1NLOTS : 15-05-2005 at 11:17. |

Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
About us going deeper and deeper though, we played in our own box against United and Chelsea away and drew 0-0 twice. Our defence is superb, and when you get past that then James is the best shot stopper ive ever seen. He's probably made the 2 of the top 3 saves this season in the premiership. I told you i just wanna talk about City.

Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
No that's a fair point. I might take a small slice of the draw stake and place a little bit on the 8.00 available for a 0-0 to get extra value on the bet. It's only a small stakes affair for me anyway so i wouldn't mind seeing Man City going through for you and Keema.
Shame Spurs are going to win 6-0 though. ![]() |

Re: English Premiership Sunday 15th May
Just my "simple" analysis for SUNDAY EPL
Birmingham v Arsenal Arsenal for me as they are the form side, Brum nothing to play for Bolton v Everton Bolton good at home , Everton already on their hols [ mentally anyway] Charlton v Crystal Palace Derby match no bet Fulham v Norwich Fulham are in form now , Norwich cannot win away Man City v Middlesbrough Difficult to call , but City are in form and have class players who will perform for Pearce Newcastle v Chelsea Newcastle have been very dissapointing this season , best fans in the country IMO , but Chelsea are a class above the rest this season. Southampton v Man Utd Even their manager says that Soton cannot defend and United have the players to score Tottenham v Blackburn Spurs have got to score and I believe they will score even though Blackburn have a good defensive record West Brom v Portsmouth The bookies make WBA favourites and I have to agree with them , the price is small ,but if they can force a draw at Old Trafford they have a start with those fans at The Hawthorns, it is difficult to believe that Portsmouth will lay down and die to see their rivals go down , but the senario where Soton fans have to be greatful to Portsmouth for keeping them in EPL IS BEYOND BELIFE. Most of this is obvious , but I feel better having put it down to justify my excessive bets today before the enforced layoff of footie betting following next weeks cup final. Good luck |
