I ask because Im interested in the Chelsea -1 (essentially Chelsea to win by 2 or more). Its 6/5 and as they cover that handicap more often than not (5 times in 9 aways thus far) looks a decent shout.
If Chelsea win by 1 only, U get ur entire stake back... If they win by 2, then U get full stake * odds back...

Just seen the line-up of the West Brom & Villa game...
Mellberg & Milner is back in the starting line-up. Looks like O'Dreary is serious about winning this game...Even the Djemba twins get to sit on the bench...

I'll back Villa level ball for now...

Re: English Prem 2/3/4th Jan

I've tried this type of bet once before, and it worked out OK, so I'm going to have another go - the "half with most goals" bet.

Bet365 always seem to have it 21/10 the first half to have most goals, 11/10 the second half, and 5/2 for the same number of goals in each half. One that's caught my eye today is Birmingham v Wigan. So far this season, of Birmingham's home games, their record is 6-1-2 (first half most goals - tie - second half most goals respectively). Wigan's away record is 4-2-3. That means that this season taking into account Birmingham's home games and Wigan's away games, the first half has had most goals on 10 occasions, there have been 3 ties, and the second half has had most goals on 5 occasions. 10 out of 18 games (55.55%) means that the 21/10 for the first half to have most goals this afternoon looks pretty decent to me.

Re: English Prem 2/3/4th Jan

got a fancy on Sunderland today. I have thought pretty much all year that they have to win sometime. And thus far they have disappointed.

Fulham have several injuries (Helguson, Diop poss) and are suffering after the battles of the festive season. Sunderland are pretty much unaffected by injury and in anycase, the second string players are just as crap as the first string players.

Le Tallec, Whitehead and Stead were unlucky not to score. They should have had a second half penalty and the man that should have walked for the handball was Cahill. Arr its tough at the bottom when everything you do stinks. I think rather than being dispondant, they are going to be fearless. Its a cliche that clubs play better when theyre doomed (dooomed I tell ye Mr Mainwaring) but I think this is starting to show for the Maccams. Nothing to lose, everything to gain

Newcastle are in tatters at the moment. Boro are playing terribly too at the moment. Both teams woefully inconsistant. I cant see the "Souness oot" campaign will aid Newcastle's cause one jot, if the 'right' Boro team turn up, the Smoggies are capable of compounding the situation further.

Be weary of the Bolton game now.

Both managers have rested some players it seems. Allardycehas rested Okocha for the starting line up and for Liverpool no Sissoko. Alonso on bench with Traore and Sinama Pongole starting.

Definately a game i shall not be going near now.

deffo kiko, 1 up front for us, no alonso or Riise I believe - pongolle wide right with Crouch up on his tod? Hmmmm Still to be convinced about Sinama-Pongolle, yet to see a decent end product.

Given is fit for the Toon.

I am going to chance the 0-0 Bolton i think now after seeing team news.

Never been convinced when i have seen Pongolle myself. I mean he was linked with a loan move to Aberdeen earlier in the season. Quite surprsed to have seen him getting opportunities like he is.

Given playing is a big surprise. Big plus that for them but they are still lacking on the attacking front. Still going to go with Boro.

Sissoko & Hamann to boss the midfield for me, a 1-0 Liverpool - crap game, plenty of bookings....

Re: Your Everton bet I cant see any odds you put up? So its kinda hard for me to comment! If your talking along the lines of 6/5 Charlton DNB then I couldnt put you off it. As I have no idea the outcome it would suggest if either side you can get 6/5 DNB then that would be a bit of value.
MrM..i listed the bet at the end " Charlton +0.25"...they win half if it's a draw on the AH.
But from your comments I see you think it's going to be closer than I think...good luck

Beattie 1-0!!...game on!

And so it proves. 2-0 Birmingham, both goals in the first half, and a nice little 21/10 winner

Re: English Prem 2/3/4th Jan

So, onto the midweek matches.

3 Jan-20:00 Arsenal v Man Utd 7/5 2/1 9/5

Can Arsenal muster up a performance to beat Manchester United? Hmmm

I was disappointed by their weekend performance and just dont know who fires them up for these big games. Henry is a cracking player but isnt a patch on Viera when it comes to leadership and marsalling the troops. Until lately I would have said the same of United, but Rooney has been in top top form of late - much as it grates

Cant see anyway past united tomorrow. Gonna have a look at the team news and see if I can talk myself out of it.

2.82 Arsenal - 3.2 Draw - 2.96 Man United betfair

reddie Ljungberg and Robin van Persie are out for Arsenal, though Gilberto Silva hopes to return from injury.

Ljungberg has a virus, while van Persie sustained another kick at Aston Villa on the same knee injury that had previously sidelined him.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is hopeful Wes Brown (groin) Paul Scholes (migraine) and Alan Smith (chest infection) will be available.

Ruud van Nistelrooy should return up front in place of Louis Saha.
