Re: Scottish Highland League 27th Dec
Think i'm going to concentrate on Highland league games from now on after noticing betandwin pick them.
Lads if you have account with betandwin a good website is www.highlandleague.net. Team news from Highlandleague.net There is talk of snow in the East of Britain on the weather forecasts but it looks unlikely to affect the HFL region so we are all systems go for the remaining six Christmas Scot Ads Highland League matches. Top billing on Tuesday will go to Deveronvale v Huntly at Princess Royal Park. The Banffers will be without Ross Bremner and Paul Munro for the match that pits former managerial partners Gregg Carrol and Billy Anderson against each other. Huntly have no injury worries. Buckie Thistle v Keith looks just as appetising with the Jags set to give Kevin Souter a run out during his brief return from the States while it has been rumoured that Franny More and Stephen Bruce could also feature. Neil Murray certainly won't as he is suspended while long term injury victims John Coutts and David Angus are also set to miss out. The Maroons, who currently sit top of the form table, will be without the suspended Derek Nicol and the injured Kenny Tawse. Alan Fraser and Neil Robertson are doubtful with ankle and knee injuries respectively. Fort William have failed to pick up a point so far this season and on the 27th they will have their last chance to do that this year when Brora Rangers visit Claggan Park. Fort have a full squad to choose from for the first time and it looks like Brora will almost be in the same boat with Mark Kennedy set to return but Gordon Mackenzie still has one match to serve on his ban. Talking of bans Steven Edwards' 8 game suspension will come to an end when Clach make the short trip to Station Park for the festive derby clash. The Lilywhites will be without Gary Ross, Andy Lewis and Dave Mackay but Nairn are slowly nearing full strength again with Scott Nicholl the most likely to join Steven Edwards on the sidelines due to injury. Rothes will be hoping to round off a year of change by completing a league double over Inverurie Locos at Mackessack Park. The Speysiders will hope to have Chris Henderson back but Jamie Miller misses out and Kevin Collins remains a doubt for this one. Tommy Wilson is suspended for the Locos and with injuries to Steven Park, Richie Singer and Kenny Coull keeping them sidelined while Danny Milne sets off for holiday it looks as though the young guns could well heavily feature once more. Last but not least Wick Academy will look to get back into action after a few idle weeks but one player certain to miss out is skipper Martin Gunn who is suspended as the Scorries welcome Forres. Steve Paterson will be without Gary Black and Andy Matheson for the trip North but expects most of the rest of his squad to be available. |

Re: Scottish Highland League 27th Dec
excellent stuff Milners. Must be money to be made as it does get a wee bit of coverage. I always see it in the sunday Mail but never do more than just glance it. Just looking there now and there could be something to pick up too

Re: Scottish Highland League 27th Dec
Going with the loco's who's away form has been excellent with 6-1-1 record and Rothes at home is 3-0-5 - evens is a decent price for me.
Next i like Forres as paterson have sorted them out with a good record of 9-0-3 and Wick aint that great 10/11 seems a bit nice price there although wick home form is 2-1-4 and Forres away form is 4-0-2. Don't really fancy anything else to be honest. |

Re: Scottish Highland League 27th Dec
Fort William game off then it seems. I was gonna go against them but given there's just a few hours to kick off I'll leave it for this week while I try and get clued up on it.
Hopefully betandwin will offer it for a while and hats off for putting their necks on the line with this ![]() |

Re: Scottish Highland League 27th Dec
Komp also good coverage in the P&J (Aberdeen local paper) they used to sponsor the highland league:
Christmas Eve gives the other championship-contenders an ideal opportunity to capitalise on the Broch's defeat. In this afternoon's Scot-Ads Highland League card, Deveronvale, the leaders, and Huntly should provide plenty of goalmouth action when they clash at Princess Royal Park. Vale boss Gregg Carrol knows his troops will have to be at their best to take their winning streak to five games. He said: "It should be an exciting encounter, like every other derby game between ourselves and Huntly. Traditionally there has always been that little bit of extra needle, which adds spice to what should be a good game of football. "Huntly beat us 3-1 at Christie Park earlier in the season, so we will be looking for a better performance this time. We have been playing well and scoring a few goals lately so, hopefully, we can keep our good run of form going." Huntly assistant manager Mike Cormack said: "It should be a Christmas cracker, but it is just great to get a game. We haven't had an outing since we played at Keith on December 3. "We're all looking forward to a local derby, especially as both teams have a lot to play for. The ex-Deveronvale players in our squad will be well up for this one." Elsewhere, Buckie Thistle and Keith should serve up another helping of fine festive fare when they meet in a table-topping clash at Victoria Park. Jags striker John Coutts could make it to the bench as he is well on his way to recovery from a troublesome shoulder injury. Neil Davidson is unavailable, but talented midfielder Kevin Souter is home from the United States until the end of next month and should be involved in the next four games. Martin Allan's Maroons have Derek Nicol serving a one-game suspension, while there will be late tests for Ally Fraser and Neil Robertson. Nairn County's Steven Edwards will serve the last of his eight-match ban when Clach visit Station Park. Clach are without ball-winning midfielder Andy Lewis, who cracked a rib in training last week. Gary Ross and Neil MacCuish are unavailable. Forres Mechanics will look to maintain their title push when Steve Paterson takes a full-strength squad to Wick, while Academy will be without influential midfielder Martin Gunn, who is serving the first of a two-game suspension. Rothes have been in fine form of late and Gordon Winton's men will look to build on their superb 1-1 draw at Buckie when high-flying Inverurie Locos come to Mackessack Park. The Speysiders have a doubt over midfielder Kevin Collins, who is still carrying a groin injury while Mark Adam is unavailable. Locos will be without skipper Tommy Wilson, who is serving a suspension, but central defender Steven Park has recovered well from his broken rib and punctured lung and is added to the travelling squad. Inverurie midfielder Richie Singer will be out of action for six months with a knee ligament injury picked up in the Scottish Cup game against Stirling Albion. For the first time this season, Fort William manager Rab Mulheron has a full squad of 21 players to pick from for this afternoon's basement battle against Brora Rangers at Claggan Park. Brora will have to do without the services of the experienced Gordon McKenzie, who is suspended. |

Re: Scottish Highland League 27th Dec
Aye going to go small on Inverurie and Forres as i'm sure one will win but i'll work out the teams that are doing well.Did notice that Betandwin a few months ago had loco's at 4/5 while a local bookie in Inverness had Inverurie at 1/10 although the match ended in a draw etc.
