Milners...

Thats 2 of the worst teams in the league at the moment playing there and Chesham are in absolutely awful shape at the moment. I couldnt bring myself to back them. I backed against them at home at the weekend and won that bet when they went down 2-0, I wouldnt dream of backing them at 6/5 despite playing Aylesbury who are in bad shape themselves.

Re: Non League - Boxing Day / 27th Dec

Here is my plays I have staked on for boxing day...

Droylsden v Northwich @ 6/5

Leigh Rmi v Harrogate @ 11/10

Vauxhall v Workington @ 6/4

Eastbourne v Lewes @ 6/4

Hampton v Staines @ 13/8

Im contemplating putting more on Northwich and Workington but am undecided.

On the subject of Gloucester, 9/4 is an ok price, but when you look at who theyve beaten this season, it really is only the worst sides theyve beaten. If you look as well, Halesown are actually one of the toughest teams to actually beat. Good luck if you go with that one Krider.

If youre looking at some bigger odds its worth looking at Hinckley away to Kettering at 13/5 (I'll lay Kettering if the price is around evens on Betfair I reckon) and Hendon away to Leyton @ 5/2.

One more. Runcorn @ Prescot.

Preliminary research has Runcorn as the form team in the Unibond. They've also beaten Prescot 5-1 earlier in the season. 5/2 looks a very odd price. It stands out as value to me but I must confess to the need to look for the catch. However as I'm shortly out on the lash I'm not sure I'll have the time tonight.

bookies have priced this one up wrong imo, been on runcorns website and they have won their last 4 league games, also they grounshare with prescott so both teams will be at HOME!! prescott have won their last 2 league games but 5-2 does look value

Looks a fair shout at over 2/1. I would say though that Runcorns wins were against awful teams. Good luck with it

Im on Hinckley now as well away to Kettering. Im taking it in a draw no bet though as the draw is a big possibility as I think this will be an even game.

Kettering after their fine start still seem to be reeling from the Gazza fiasco and have lost 3 of their last 4 in the league to noone of note. Of particular interest is the 3-1 defeat at home to Barrow. Losing away to Redditch is hardly cricket either.

Hinckley have been solid all season without being spectacular and sit just a couple of points behind Kettering in the top half. They have a fine 4-3-2 away record and recently humbled Stafford at theirs, a fine result by all accounts.

Dont see why the big difference in odds personally. Anything over 2/1 is value in my eyes but as I see it as a even game the draw does worry. Due to the chunky 13/5 at bet365 you can make your own draw no bet with the 5/2 available and come out with a 2.57 DNB which is more than acceptable.

Re: Non League - Boxing Day / 27th Dec

Not got long but there's problems at Redditch and two of their best players have just left. I'm looking for a bit of excitement today so I'll have the 13/8 on Moor Green for four points. You'll have to DYOR on this one but Moor Green given their low league standing have got a good away record (drew at vics beat Stafford from memory - footballwebpages.com it anyway) and not lost away for a few games.

Redditch forum has this to say: http://rufc.forumup.co.uk/about13-rufc.html

I have it on good authority that Matt Clarke has gone to Stafford and Scott Rickards has gone to Tamworth.

They have been allegedly been told they are not worth the money and have left the club

I hope I am wrong, this represents the start of the demise for me if this is indeed true. I can only assume that the controlling directors have chosen to do this. Why oh why?

"I'll be there on Boxing Day for the match, a couple of drinkies and a quick chrus of "Can the last player out please turn out the lights."

On second thoughts, let's all get behind the team while we've still got one."

Quick note on Gloucester. Following wage cuts it's been anoounced the mgt team are leaving after the bnext match. i'd take the 11/8 on Halosowen but they aint scored in 3 games so I'm swerving and will ponder their next game at Yate later.

Lightbulb Conference Boxing Banker!

Been following Gary Boswell at the BEttingZone.co.uk consistently, and have to say he's more often thatn not on the money.

He's come out with a 8/10 point home 'banker' for Boxing Day in Kidderminster. His logic below:

"Kidderminster have been `carpeted' more times than they care to have mentioned since their return to the non-league echelons but they represent a good main bet to retrieve the Xmas expenses.

I put a lot of store on the `new broom' factor that a change of manager brings to a club's betting potential.

It's already worked twice for us this season and the Harriers look poised at last to make Aggborough the sort of fortress it was when they got out of the Conference at the turn of the Millennium.

Martin O'Connor has the football brain to improve results and if he also gets the best out of his league standard striker – Iseyden Christie – there could be a rout against the Altrincham part-timers who still have defenders absent and are presently very vulnerable . I expect a scoreline not unlike Kidderminster's 4-0 hammering of Scarborough in the FA trophy last week and this rates one of my strongest bets of the season so far at Skybet's best priced 10/11."

Never seen him tip at 8 points, he usually comes i with 2 or 3 point recommendations ... surely a sign of confidence.

Lumping on myself in a big way ... just waiting for the Asian Handicap markets to open before I make the plunge!

Any reason why this 'banker' deserves his own thread?

Re: Non League - Boxing Day / 27th Dec

Sorry with the Hereford shout fellas If it helps i lost a fair whack on the game

Quote:
I think Hereford have a near fit squad but T.James did come off tonight at Ht, i dont know if it was through injury yet but he's our captain and has to be regarded as a key player.
We really missed him in defence today.

I'll be lumping on the return fixture at Hereford on the 2nd of Jan as FGR were not so good today either, if that one fails i'll find a nice canal to lie in.
