Premier League of Wales Dec 26

The Premier League of Wales have decided that Boxing Day and Jan 2nd are back to back derby match days. These near neighbour clashes were for the benefit of the players and fans , ended up with Porthmadog and Aberystwyth being the odd ones out so my team Port have a derby match 60+ miles away

Here is the latest betting from bet365
26 Dec-14:30 Aberystwyth v Porthmadog 2.37 3.25 2.50
26 Dec-14:30 Airbus UK v Newi Cefn Druids 1.83 3.40 3.50
26 Dec-14:30 Bangor City v Caernarfon 1.53 3.40 5.50
26 Dec-14:30 Caersws v Newtown 2.37 3.25 2.50
26 Dec-14:30 Carmarthen v Haverfordwest 2.25 3.40 2.60
26 Dec-14:30 Connah's Quay v Rhyl 3.20 3.20 2.00
26 Dec-14:30 Port Talbot v Llanelli 1.80 3.40 3.60
26 Dec-14:30 Welshpool Town v T.N.S. 3.60 3.40 1.80

A reason for Grange omission may be due to them playing on Dec 28th 2005 Cardiff Grange Quins - Cwmbran Town , with the return on Jan 4th 2006.

18. NEWI Cefn Druids 14 1 7 6 15 26 10

My DON'TS in betting are :
i) don't bet on a match if they have a new manager
ii) don't bet on the L.D.V. trophy
iii) don't bet on local derby matches

[ EDIT -I've gone against my own advice in the last few weeks at a loss ]

With the majority of the players in this league being semi-pros the temptation not to over-induldge in alcohol on Christmas day will difficult. This set of fixtures maybe worth avoiding.Their match reports will be useful for analysis before the return matches the following week.Could be worth going for the draws.I'll have a think and post my opinions later .

Re: Premier League of Wales Dec 26

My initial impressions with 5 last games for each club, which I find useful , if it detracts from the thread please give your opinions..

Aberystwyth [12]v Porthmadog[11]
Both sides have been improving lately , both mid table sides .Port have games in hand over Aber. Will home advantage be enough for Aber. Port missed striker Owen last week , without him they have few options up front .

2005-12-17 Aberystwyth - Airbus UK 2-2
2005-12-09 Cwmbran - Aberystwyth 1-3
2005-12-03 Aberystwyth - Connahs Quay 1-2
2005-11-18 Aberystwyth - Caersws 0-0

Airbus [14]v Newi Cefn Druids [18]
Two poor sides , cannot pick a winner or loser
2005-12-17 Aberystwyth - Airbus UK 2-2
2005-12-10 Porthmadog - Airbus UK 3-1
2005-11-25 Connahs Quay - Airbus UK 3-0

2005-10-28 Newi CD - TNS 0-6

Bangor [5]v Caernarfon [17]
A local derby from the old days ,not much love between these two clubs.Caernarfon on a poor run at the moment , Bangor lost their manager , but won last week which surprised me.
2005-12-17 Newtown - Bangor City 0-1
2005-12-10 Bangor City - Haverfordwest 0-1
2005-12-04 Rhyl - Bangor City 4-1
2005-11-26 Bangor City - Cardiff GQ 5-1

2005-10-29 Haverfordwest - Caernarfon 2-2

2005-12-03 Cardiff GQ - Caersws 0-5

2005-11-26 Welshpool - Newtown 1-2

Carmarthen [8]v Haverfordwest [6]
Cannot see further than a draw here

2005-12-17 Rhyl - Carmarthen 1-0
2005-12-10 Carmarthen - Cardiff GQ 8-0
2005-11-19 Airbus UK - Carmarthen 1-3

2005-11-12 Llanelli - Haverfordwest 0-1

Connah's Quay[15] v Rhyl[4]
Connah’s Quay have had a good run recently but are not in same class as Rhyl .
2005-12-17 Cardiff GQ - Connahs Quay 1-4
2005-12-09 Connahs Quay - Newi CD 1-0
2005-12-03 Aberystwyth - Connahs Quay 1-2
2005-11-25 Connahs Quay - Airbus UK 3-0
2005-11-19 Cwmbran - Connahs Quay 2-1

2005-12-17 Rhyl - Carmarthen 1-0
2005-12-10 Caersws - Rhyl 1-1
2005-12-04 Rhyl - Bangor City 4-1
2005-11-26 Port Talbot - Rhyl 1-0
2005-11-18 Rhyl - TNS 0-0

Port Talbot [2]v Llanelli [10]
Port Talbot’s success has surprise a lot of people Including P.T, themselves.
Llanelli have spent more than most but are lying mid-table which has also surprised a lot. Llanelli lowly position is due to their postponed matches and having won 2 matches recently against 5 of the top clubs in the league , so a match against 2nd placed P.T. will be a difficult task
2005-12-17 Caernarfon - Port Talbot 0-1
2005-12-10 Port Talbot - Newtown 3-2
2005-12-02 Haverfordwest - Port Talbot 1-3

2005-12-17 Llanelli - TNS 0-2
2005-12-10 Welshpool - Llanelli 3-2
2005-11-19 Newtown - Llanelli 0-3
2005-11-12 Llanelli - Haverfordwest 0-1
2005-10-29 Rhyl - Llanelli 0-1

Welshpool Town[3] v T.N.S.[1]
Can Welshpool be the team that bring to an end to TNS unbeaten run.Very doubtful. TNS are streets ahead of any club in this league ,Tns have been playing below standard and stil winning which is a sign of a good side.

2005-12-17 Welshpool - Porthmadog 1-0
2005-12-10 Welshpool - Llanelli 3-2
2005-11-26 Welshpool - Newtown 1-2
2005-11-19 Haverfordwest - Welshpool 2-1
2005-11-12 Welshpool - Rhyl 3-1

2005-12-17 Llanelli - TNS 0-2
2005-12-10 TNS - Caernarfon 2-1
2005-12-03 Newtown - TNS 0-3
2005-11-18 Rhyl - TNS 0-0
2005-11-12 TNS - Cardiff GQ 7-0

thanks ,nice to see you komp , had that Malaysian Syndicate bugger here two weeks ago - thought it was you as we don't get many posters

Don't know if bet365 will quote Grange Quins again , ,they might do if they get a draw tomorrow night

i mised him entirely Traeth. I hope you all booted him in his Syndicated cock. Im away to see my bank manager in the new year to see if i can start doing some money transfers with my account. That will be near a year ive had it and ive paid loads of things. He might go easy on me.

Re: Premier League of Wales Dec 26

Good luck with your bank manager komp .
Cannot get excited about these fixtures -the local derby factor putting me off
There are two matches that stand out for me

Connah's Quay v Rhyl @ 2.00 (7/10)

Welshpool Town v T.N.S. @ 1.57 (8/10)

Two away wins , note TNS price is down from 1.80 to 1.57.

I think the other matches could go either way , so draws are worth considering.

The price on Caernarfon is high so I will be having a small stake bet on them

Bangor City v Caernarfon @ 5.50 (1/10)

Bangor with a caretaker manager at the moment,so their 1-0 win last week has given them confidence.Bangor need to win these back to back derby matches against Caernarfon as in their upcoming matches they will be facing Llanelli and top 3 of Welshpool , TNS and surprise team Port Talbot.
Caernarfon problem has been their inability to score more than 1 goal , they have lost a lot of games by 1 goal. They have games in hand over most clubs in the league.
I have a soft spot for Caernarfon and believe that this could be their first away win of the season.

Thanks komp all the best to you as well mate

Nothing new to add really , I will be analysing the match reports from today's matches to see if there will be anything for the return matches next week.

The news in the local paper is about who is fit ,news that got to be dated .Rhyl's manager has selection problems -all his strikers are fit and he has to decide which ones to select and skipper Edwards is available after a long injury. There are more players for various teams absent but they are not worth listing IMO.

I am sticking with my previous selections of away wins for
RHYL , TNS and a hopeful bet on Caernarfon now 6.0 with bet365.

My other bet is just an interest [ desperation- cannot decide]
All draws X trebles , four fold and five fold - 16 bets ,need 3 correct to to be in profit

Aberystwyth v Porthmadog Draw @3.25
Airbus UK v Newi Cefn Druids Draw @3.40
Caersws v Newtown Draw @ 3.20
Carmarthen v Haverfordwest Draw @3.40
Port Talbot v Llanelli Draw @3.40 .

For those reading this thread- There plenty of football today so I am sure you can select from the other matches .

All the best have a good Boxing Day

Rhyl and TNS looking good , Caernarfon can come good .
The draws look improbable should have been no bet but was having withdrawals after so many days without a bet
