Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Christmas Party Thread 24/26th Dec

I do like the amount of markets gamebookers offer for the Scots and if you've enjoyed trickrick's thread in the rags to riches forum (32 winning bets in a row folks - go check it out HERE ) then you may like these sort of bets:

To Score
Div 1
Brechin @ 1.49
Clyde @ 1.09

Dundee @ 1.15
Airdrie @ 1.55

QOS @ 1.49
St Mirren @ 1.09

Stranraer @ 1.50
Hamilton @ 1.13

St Johnstone @ 1.17
Ross County @ 1.52

Div 2
Alloa @ 1.50
Peterhead @ 1.13

Partick Thistle @ 1.20
Stirling Albion @ 1.47

Ayr Utd @ 1.21
Dumbarton @ 1.40

Morton @ 1.11
Raith @ 1.55

No Division 3 unfortunately but I reckon you could find a good treble in there. Maybe even more. Well, whatever you want really.

Peterhead have been lumped on at 5/6 with Skybet.

Alloa letting in goals for fun - Peterhead are better than them - aren't they ?

Most likely. Slightly worrying what Alloa did to Partick though as Partick are pretty darn tight. I don't want to rush into anything.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Christmas Party Thread 24/26th Dec

Just Gretna this weekend for me. Managed to get 1.13 at Canbet. Not much point in going into the reasons why as it's a system bet and you get a clearer picture in my 4545 thread in the tipsters proofing section.

Apologies for the shameless plug.
If it comes in and it's always a big if, it will be my 18th consecutive winning bet.
Good Luck with your bets.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Christmas Party Thread 24/26th Dec

Informative and interesting stuff re Elgin's plight. They've cost punters a small fortune in their last 2 at Borough Briggs, blowing away a relatively big gamble on Arbroath, then going he other way and being held by East Stirling.

I never touched he first one, in fact Arbroath got so short they became a value lay but for the first time I can ever remember I lost money on East Stirling when Elgin did what nobody else does at home to the Shire by failing to beat them. Steering clear of the Elgin match on Boxing Day but if things are as bad as it seems they could really hit the skids in the coming weeks.

The best bet for me in the lower leagues is Morton who are solid at home and should have little difficulty in beating Raith Rovers who were doing ok for a while but their form has dipped badly. Had a look in betfair yesterday afternoon and was surprised to see 1.66 on offer against an average bookie price of about 1.50. Took that without thinking twice.

In Division 1 Clyde should win at Brechin but the odds are too short for my liking. The same can be said for St Mirren at Palmerston but again the odds are cramped. Saints were thrashed at Dundee last time on the road but that match apart, have been going very well and are much better than Queen of the South who have made no headway at all since Ian McCall took over.

St Johnstone have been unreliable but I've a feeling they'll beat Ross County to keep their title challenge going. County's away form is not as good as it looks with 3 recent wins all against the bottom clubs. The teams drew 1-1 in Perth early in the season. Saints are over evens on betfair and that looks about right to me.

Cowdenbeath have won 6 matches on the road in the league so far without conceding a single goal. They should not find it too difficult to add to that stat at East Stirling, though again at less than 1.40, the value isn't there.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Christmas Party Thread 24/26th Dec

i'll get into it all over he next few days. Im gonna take peterhead tomorrow though but for some reason i aint confident. It seems too easy. Still i think they'll be up for it and i cant resist the 11/10 at Betfred. Alloa could grab a couple but i cant see them not letting in 2 or more.

Alloa Athletic v Peterhead

Alloa hope to welcome back Iain Nicolson from and ankle injury and Ross Hamilton from a thigh strain.

The home side were unlucky to be on the wrong end of a seven-goal thriller at Partick last week but will be hoping for a similar type of performance. Peterhead are without Martin Bavidge (calf), Calvin Shand (back), Graeme Sharp (ankle) and Iain Good (knee). But they welcome back Chris Hegarty who missed the win over Morton win through suspension.

Peterhead have been without them players for weeks and with Michie and Linn up front theyre gauranteed a 2 goal lead imo. All wwe can do is hope and prey though

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Christmas Party Thread 24/26th Dec

I think anything can happen truth be told Bromsgrove. I wouldnt chance the ht/ft personally as i could even see Alloa grabbing a goal or 2 before a defensive collapse. I'll be happy with the peterhead win truth be told. Everything says Peterhead win to me but ive just got a horrible feeling its not gonna be a walk in a winter wonderland for us. I have to back Peterhead though on current form and Alloa's defence.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Christmas Party Thread 24/26th Dec

On current form Peterhead do look a good proposition. They've performed much better than expected in Division 2 and it's not so long ago they won 3-1 at Firhill. The only blot on the horizon is that Alloa won the first of these fixtures 4-0 or 4-1 right at the beginning of the season. However, that was a long time ago in terms of current form and the home side are shipping goals at an alarming rate.

Quote from an East Stirling fan on Pie & Bovril
Quote:
7-0 cowden and I'm being modest. Shire are lucky if they have 11 players left to play as with the 3 which deserted plus tyrell working in england, Shaggy & owen heading home for chrissy in their respective countries (norway & england), Mckay definately & possibly dimmock still injured, I dont think we have 11 fit players left.
gonna be a grim festive period for shire fans.
Sounds like a Cowdenbeath win is quite likely there!

Also, if you're looking for some decent Boxing Day odds, i feel Arbroath may be a decent bet at around 5/4.
We have been shambolic on the road all season, but with our great home record over the past coule of months, and a decent display away to Cowden, i feel we SHOULD be able to beat an unpredictable Albion. We have to win away from home some time if we are to keep in the hope of a play-off place!

Also like Berwick away to East Fife at 5/4. Can't remember East Fife having a decent result for a long time, and Berwick will surely be due a win since their bubble burst a month or 2 ago.
