Re: Coca Cola League 2 16th & 17th Dec

Rovers look a good price at home to Torquay. They were very unlucky to lose to Port Vale who had one shot on target on Tues. Rovers hit the bar a couple of times and had a couple cleared off the line.
They have beated Barnet and Grimsby in recent weeks - better teams than Torquay and are hot in the form tables. The defeat on Tues waas only their 2nd in all competitions at home.
The reverse fixture was a 3-2 win to rovers

think this is a great bet myself. currently 1.9 with betfair

Re: Coca Cola League 2 16th & 17th Dec

i like the sound of your Bristol Rovers THM and their the kind of price i like. Not much happening in Scotland this week so i might get into div 1 and 2 this weekend. Just a shame im working tomorrow night (my last night of work on a friday night ever may i add)

Chester, Wycombe, Boston and Northampton im interested in too.

Quote:
Oxford v Lincoln
Oxford's Chris Hargreaves is fit after recovering from a thigh injury.
Steve Basham (calf) and Adam Griffin (dead leg) have slight knocks and late decisions will be made about whether they are fit to play.
Lincoln will be without suspended midfielder Dean Keates while defender Lee Beevers may miss his fourth game in a row due to an ankle injury.
Francis Green is still on loan at Boston and Danny Bacon (broken leg) remains a long-term absentee.

Re: Coca Cola League 2 16th & 17th Dec

Lincoln have beaten Oxford twice in 2005. Both times at Lincoln though. Actually the last 2 visits for Lincoln to Oxford last season finished 0-0 and 0-1. Reckon that one will be on my draw line to give me some friday night interest.

Bury are doing ok but still vurnerable at home i reckon. I like Wycombe away. Aye the draws the worry but nah i think i'll be on Wycombe (Cue their first defeat of the season) I think Wycombe have Bury's measure and i like the price.

Darlington v Grimsby looks a low scorer and could be worth throwing on my draw line. Northampton i could chance. Shrewsbury have let in 12 in their last 4 away games. Sort of game Northmapton have to be winning but i can see them letting me down still. Need to think. Rochdale are shipping goals and Orient aint scoring or conceding much. Orient away is always worth a look this season but this looks a bit tough. Nah i could still chance Orient.

Cheltenham are no mugs but Boston at home i have to consider seeing as theyve picked up and are starting to show some pre-season promise. THM's Bristol Rovers i like and will have a look at the best price i can get in the high street.

Chester ive went off as Rushden seem a bit tenacious on the road. IPrice is too short for me. Peteborough have a good record v Mansfield and i quite like them away from home. 2/1+ with betandwin but prob too short in high street for me to get involved. Any info appreciated though.

4/5 on Notts County anyone?

Re: Coca Cola League 2 16th & 17th Dec

I like the look of Macclesfield 11/10 at home to Barnet.

Although Barnet are above Macclesfield they have been struggling for a while now and have only picked up 1pt from their last 3 games, 2 of those were at home.

Since sacking striker Kevin Townson, Macclesfield seem to of picked up a bit being unbeaten in 4, they can go above Barnet with a win here and although concede have goals in them with Wijnhard, Sandwith and Parkin.

Just a small bet

Agreed Komp, I was going to post to ward people off the odds on chester here. Rushden get a lot of draws on the road and it could well be a draw here. Ill be laying Chester in my 'Jays Lays' system.

I'm consideing Wycombe 6/5 and Posh 9/5

Wycombe whipped Bury 4-0 earlier in the season and Posh beat Mansfield 2-0.

Yep, serious squad problems for Chester seems to me...
Quote:
A catastrophic week seems like it won't finish until sunday morning, after Chester's injury list received another two names.

Midfielders Justin Walker and Tom Curtis have been hit by the influenza virus two days before Chester play Rushden and Diamonds in the Coca Cola League Two.

They are joined by a whole quartet of suspensions, after Ryan Lowe, Dave Artell, and full backs Carl Regan and Scott McNiven received their fifth bookings of the season.

And to put the salt in the wound, Chris MacKenzie (thumb) and Ryan Brookfield (hamstring) leave Chester without a recognised goalkeeper in the squad.

So all in all, Chester have no goalkeeper; only Phil Bolland and Luke Dimech in defence, and Ben Davies, Stuart Drummond, Tom Curle, Craig Dove, Abdelhalim El Kholti Stephen Vaughan and solo striker Marcus Richardson to provide the attacking spark in Chester's side for Saturday.

It's Thursday, and already Rushden and Diamonds must be expecting easy competition at the weekend. Chester are without 11 players in a threadbare squad afterall. But, in the words of a not-so-panicking Keith Curle: 'when all about are losing their heads, keep calm and you will succeed.'

Re: Coca Cola League 2 16th & 17th Dec

thanks for that Monty. I aint going to get involved. Kegman Betfred have Wycombe at 11/8. Far more interesting than that 6/5 i reckon. Hills go 11/10 on Boston too. So i'll be looking at

Bristol Rovers @ 8/11 (hills, corals, betfred)
Boston @ 11/10 (Hills)
Wycombe @ 11/8 (betfred)
Notss County @ 4/5 (Betfred)

Re: Coca Cola League 2 16th & 17th Dec

actually betfreds 7th heaven coupon could be my way to go for my lower english league perm. They give you better odds than their match odds but minimum trebles but that suits my usual 3 from ??? perms

notts county 5/6
Wycombe 11/8
Boston 11/10
bris rovers 8/11

it would let me throw in Barnsley at 7/4 from div one. Again these are just thoughts. The next 24hrs will be a long time

Re: Coca Cola League 2 16th & 17th Dec

from the bbc......

Boston v Cheltenham
Boston striker Noel Whelan is pushing for a starting place after scoring as a substitute last week following his recovery from a hernia operation.
Stewart Talbot returns from a one-match suspension, but fellow midfielder Simon Rusk serves a one-match ban.
Cheltenham boss John Ward is expected to name the same side that beat Oxford in an FA Cup replay on Tuesday.
Defender Jamie Victory is still missing from the team after sustaining a groin injury in the first second-round game

Bristol Rovers v Torquay
Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope is sweating on the fitness of Craig Hinton (ankle), Craig Disley (knee) and Junior Agogo (abdomen).
Robbie Ryan and captain John Anderson returned to full training this week and are back in contention.
Torquay left-back James Sharp misses the West Country derby through suspension after five bookings.
On-loan Wycombe striker Ian Stonebridge will be missing for a third successive game with a jarred ankle/shin.

Bury v Wycombe
Bury's injury problems are easing with Lee Unsworth (groin) back in contention and Allan Smart (knee) and Dwayne Mattis (Achilles) pushing for recalls.
Jon Newby (Achilles) is a definite absentee, but he has started running as he steps up his comeback.
Wycombe have a worry over goalkeeper Frank Talia, who is struggling with a shoulder injury - if he misses out Steve Williams is set to deputise.
Joe Burnell, Tommy Mooney and Charlie Griffin all face late fitness tests.

Carlisle v Wrexham
Carlisle boss Paul Simpson should be able to choose from a fully-fit squad for the visit of Wrexham.
Striker Karl Hawley should be fit after it was revealed he does not need an operation on his hernia problem.
Wrexham could be without striker Lee McEvilly for the trip to Brunton Park as he has a suspected stress fracture of a metatarsal bone.
Defender Dennis Lawrence (pulled muscle) is a doubt and on-loan striker Robbie Foy (illness) may miss out.

Chester v Rushden & Diamonds
Chester are missing Chris MacKenzie (thumb) and Ryan Brookfield (hamstring) with defenders Scott McNiven, David Artell and Carl Regan all suspended.
Gregg Blundell (haematoma), Michael Branch (knee), Sean Hessey (knee) and Ryan Lowe (ban) are also missing.
Rushden & Diamonds may start with youngster Lee Tomlin up front, but Gary Mills (heavy cold) could miss out.
Respective hamstring and shin problems have cast doubts over David Bell and Andy Burgess but Peter Hawkins is back

Darlington v Grimsby
Darlington defender Ryan Valentine misses out for the first time this season after racking up five bookings.
Keeper Sam Russell (fractured fibula) and midfielder David Duke (groin) are out but Brian Close (ankle) returns.
Grimsby midfielder Jean-Paul Kalala is a major doubt after picking up a calf strain in the first minute of the 4-1 victory over Rochdale.
The only other absentee is veteran John McDermott, who may be sidelined until after Christmas with an ankle injury

Macclesfield v Barnet
Macclesfield boss Brian Horton does not expect to make changes for the visit of Barnet, but defender Danny Swailes (back) is in contention.
Midfielder David Beresford (hamstring) and defenders Ian Brightwell (foot) and Tony Barras (hip) are definitely out.
Barnet defender Simon Clist is in line to make his first start of the season after shaking off a groin injury.
Skipper Ian Hendon and midfielder Paolo Vernazza should also return after both suffering from a chest infection.

Mansfield v Peterborough
Mansfield have a doubt over Norwegian defender Jon Olav Hjelde as he is struggling with a heavy cold.
Shirtliff's only definite absentee is striker Chris Beardsley (broken leg), while he has no suspension problems.
Peterborough will be without suspended midfielder Paul Carden, but Jamie Hand returns to the squad and Peter Gain (ankle) is expected to be fit.
Elsewhere in the Posh midfield, Peter Kennedy will have a late fitness test, while David Farrell remains sidelined

Northampton v Shrewsbury
Northampton will make late decisions on the fitness of Jason Crowe and Martin Smith after both suffered knocks in the midweek FA Cup replay victory.
Andy Kirk is in contention but captain Ashley Westwood remains sidelined by his knee problem.
Shrewsbury boss Gary Peters welcomes back defender Neil Ashton from a ban and he must choose between Ashton and Kevin Sharp for a centre-back berth.
Peters does not have any injury or suspension concerns

Notts County v Stockport
Notts County will be without defender Adam Tann for the visit of Stockport after he suffered a fractured cheekbone during the defeat to Peterborough.
Striker Steve Scoffham is also ruled out with a similar injury.
Stockport manager Chris Turner will have top goalscorer Jermaine Easter back from a one-game suspension for the trip to Meadow Lane.
Defender Michael Raynes (hamstring) may return on Boxing Day, but Mickael Wolski (calf) remains on the sidelines

Rochdale v Leyton Orient
Rochdale will be without suspended pair Grant Holt and Warren Goodhind after both were sent off in last weekend's defeat at leaders Wycombe.
Midfielder Ernie Cooksey could return but Gary Brown (ankle) is doubtful.
Leyton Orient welcome back key defender John Mackie after he missed the last three games through suspension.
Midfielder Justin Miller (ankle) could be available again but manager Martin Ling must decide whether to risk winger Shane Tudor, who has a groin problem.

Re: Coca Cola League 2 16th & 17th Dec

Being a Barnet fan I probably shouldn't think this is funny but Bees goalkeeper Ross Flitney (the one who was sent-off within 2 minutes at Old Trafford) must be considered a doubt for tomorrows game after being hit by a car whilst out jogging. Bloody good keeper but perhaps the unluckiest bloke alive at the moment.

Was keen on Chester before realising they have 11 players out. Northampton should see off Shrewsbury without too much trouble, not sure about anything else if I'm honest. Looks like a few home wins/draws this weekend.
