Brentford i might have a look at, also possibly Yeovil but there must be easier about surely ?
Colchester are in form & look decent to beat the Dons, Chesterfield as well at home to Oldham, & Donny look worth a shufti at home to Swansea.
Figaro fancies Southend away at Huddersfield !! Now Huddersfield have only won 2 in 7 so I can see that part, its just Southend winless in 6 that worries me.
Walsall at home looks worth a glance

Swoops.

Tranmere have a number of injury problems to keep an eye on both in defence and now their top scorer Chris Greenacre could be out as well. I thought Brentford might have been a bigger price though

Re: Coca Cola League 1 16th & 17th Dec

Am a bit disappointed with the City price away at Port Vale - we have only won once away all season!

However, I think we might have a chance in this one. The devil reincarnated - Tony Dinning is out suspended and the centre back they have on loan from us is ineligable.

As mentioned in the div 2 thread, Vale were lucky against Rovers in midweek and while the home win against southend is impressive, that followed a point at home to Swindon and a defeat at home to Hartlepool.

As for us, I am aware one swallow doesnt make a summer but it does seems as though the 10 day break we had allowed Gary Johnson to really get some work done on the training field and an unlucky home defeat by Bradford was followed by a morale boosting home win against Huddersfield.

Brooker is due a goal and this could come against his old club on sat.

3.85 is available on betfair and I think city have a better chance than the odds suggest.

3.85 you say Handicap Man? I'll have some of that then mate. Still, that 3-0 away to them last season was it? one of our worst performances and wrankles a bit.

hey AMP,

sorry, its 3.8 on betfair.

Yeah, last season was awful, in fact we've lost this tie the last two seasons, BUT Brooker scored on both occasions and with him fit a raring to go for US this time, lets hope he does what he did against Vale earlier in the season and bags a brace!

Marcus Stewart sits out this game suspended, sounds likely big bad Bas Savage will get his full team debut.

I've got to admit that City price did jump out at me too, Gary Johnson is a decent manager and i think City have started to improve under him.
The fact that Vale were awful at Hereford in the LDV and as THM has mentioned Broooker could grab a goal or 2 against his old club makes this a bet for me.

Scunthorpe v Nottm Forest
Andy Crosby is available after completing his one-match ban and could replace Andy Butler, who is struggling with a hamstring injury.
Butler is Scunthorpe's only real worry, while Peter Beagrie could start.

Nottingham Forest will be without suspended Republic of Ireland international John Thompson.

They are also likely to be without Felix Bastians (ankle), while Danny Cullip (hamstring) and Scott Dobie (hip) remain on the sidelines.

I'm already on City but a little concerned that Gary Johnson sounds like he might play a 4-5-1 formation, I guess some of the logic behind it is that he has loaned two of our strikers out!
Just wish we'd stick to the same system that has seen the improvement over the last 2 games - 4-4-2

Re: Coca Cola League 1 16th & 17th Dec

Scunthorpe have lost their last 5 games letting in 17 goals in the process. Forest are no shakes away from home and they lost at home to Scunthorpe earlier. Anyone fancy Forest to pick up a rare away win?

Anyone fancy Bournemouth to beat RC's Gillingham? The Gills look murder on the road. Bournemouth at home always seems to screw me over mind Doncaster gave Swansea their only home defeat of the season. Will they want revenge or is Doncaster just not a team they can beat?

bloody hell Rotherham aint won in 13 games. Bradford arent scoring mind (nor conceding)

Football League One Port Vale 0-1 Bradford 15-10-2005
Football League One Bradford 1-0 Gillingham 22-10-2005
Football League One Nottm Forest 1-0 Bradford 29-10-2005
Football League One Bradford 0-0 Barnsley 12-11-2005
Football League One Huddersfield 0-0 Bradford 19-11-2005
Football League One Bradford 0-1 Hartlepool 26-11-2005
Football League One Bristol C 0-1 Bradford 06-12-2005
Football League One Southend 1-1 Bradford 10-12-2005

Colchester are 4/5 with Canbet. Looks pretty good to me (and Swoops). Theyre in some form aint they?

Oldham are worth the 10/3 poss in Ladbrokes to me Swoops. Theyve been getting reluts and scoring whilst chesterfield aint a team i can trust. I fancy Oldham at the price.

Yeovil i dont like at home either and Barnsley are in the best form f any team in the league. I could be interested in throwing Barnsley in somewhere. I aint working sat night so im for loads a bets and a wee afternoon on here

I wouldnt be backing Bradford or Huddersfield at odds on despite the form of their respective opponents. Neither team are particularly hot on current form and Bradford are never prolific at home. Would be suprised if they both drew.

We are indeed poor on the road. Haven't seen much in the way of team news lately, sorry can't really help out much this week, been a busy week. Wouldn't put you off Bournemouth to be honest, but just bear in mind Gills have now won 2 in a row, and by all accounts have actually played pretty well in both those two games.

I'm flying back to England tomorrow, may yet make a trip down to Bournemouth on Saturday, I've not yet decided. If I do, I'll maybe be in a better position to comment on our ongoing revival next week.

I hope you make RC. I might just leave it then. I dont like backing against teams showing some improvement. Barnsley at 13/8 on betfred coupon is the one for me to look at today. I really like that price.

  • Was just thinking there, the best type of "fuck off " is the following; You`re playing astro, 5 a side, someone shouts "handball" and the "fuck off" response is fucking class.
