Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

Quick thoughts on this weeks card.

Airdrie vs Brechin - you have to fancy Airdrie here but at 1.4 with bet365 its not worth looking at

Clyde vs Stranraer - I actually was going to back Clyde last week on the buttmonkey thread against Ross County but changed my mind and back Losssiemouth!!! Typical never mind fancy Clyde again against Stranraer.

Hamilton vs Ross County - Is Ross County showing signs that they are on the way down with 2 defeats on the trot, not sure but this will be a tough game. Hamilton are not bad at home with a 4-3-1 although Ross County has been bad away from home - I fancy Hamilton here, need more thoughts on it though.

Queen of the South vs Dundee - Great result for Dundee last week against St Mirren and very unexpected although having watched St Mirren i don't think they will run away with this league but from all accounts Dundee was lucky to win 4-0 last weekend. Queen of the South have been terrible this season and Ian McCall isn't really getting results either since he's taken over. I wonder if this is the game that could surprise people. Might take them as a outsider as i don't think Dundee are all that good.

St Mirren vs St Johnstone - First division game of the day, St Mirren having a terrible result last weekend will be wanting to bounce back. St Johnstone will not want to lose this game with being 7pts behind them. Tough game i think to predict maybe a stay away

Ayr vs Stirling - Ayr just had a fantastic result against Morton although it is Morton bogey team is it - they do struggle a bit against Ayr. Stirling Struggled against Inverurie Loco's - i was hoping the Loco's hold out as i would have went to the reply - damn. Anyway this looks a draw to me and a stay away.

Dumbarton vs Gretna - Gretna to win as normal - 1.4 is about right and stay away for me.

Forfar vs Raith - a horrible match to predict, Raith haven't been playing well recently and according to them their defeat to Queens Park was the worst performance since their manager taken over. Stay away for me i think although i do fancy Raith to get something out of the match.

Partick vs Alloa - Partick sould thump Alloa but i'm not touching that bet at that price.

Peterhead vs Morton - Have to fancy Morton here although Peterhead has been in good form of late and Morton always a bit dodgy away from Home. Morton have never won at Peterhead.

Albion vs East Stirling - Was hoping for a better price for Albion against East Stirling but then again East Stirling new manager if it happens. Think i'll go with my rule here not to bet during managerial changes.

Arbroath vs Queens Park - Fancy Arbroath here, won the last 4 at home and although Queens Park had a fantastic result against Raith, i think 1.9 is a tad massive for a team that has been good at home recently - hope i can get evens although i think i'd take 1.9.

Montrose vs Berwick - Evens for Berwick who have been poor with losing the last 4 games, maybe worth looking at Montrose price but then again no manager although they want david hannah - stick to my rule although i wouldn't mind putting on Montrose as a outsider 2/1 at home against a team that has lost 4 on the bounce mmm tempting - if i can't find a outsider i might take this.

Stenhousemuir vs Cowdenbeath - big game in the 3rd divison, for some reason i really fancy Cowdenbeath here.

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

Great stuff as per Milners. I havent looked at prices myself yet but from pondering the card when i was offline for a few days there i couldnt imagine there being too much for me as i thought it looked a bit tricky. Here's hoping the bookies are giving something away.

Agreed on Airdrie. Brechin seem to be knocking at the door for a win but Airdrie are playing well enough and hard to bet against. They'll have Hardie out mind after his red card Sat. Should have bloody beaten stranraer

I'll have clyde for sure i reckon. I thought they'd be nearer 1/2. Aye its my old disregard for Strarear coming to the fore but come on they cant be lucky all the time. Theyre due a doing and its gonna come at Broadwood saturday. Aye im on already. Clyde are playing well and Roberts has them in a positive frame of mind and theyre still trying to catch the leaders. Aye i'll be on them i reckon.

I couldnt take anything on Hamilton v ross Milners. As you say Ross away are ok and i aint entirely convinced with Hamilton these days. Theres talk about ross County relying on long range efforts from their midfield and again they dont convince me at the mo either.

QOS i reckon are due a win themselves especially with them playing so well at home. Dundee might still be murder on the road or they could have turned a corner. Too hard for me. Feels a bit drawy this one to me.

Bah The Saints v The Saintees(??) is a horrible one. Pref for St Mirren to bounce back at home but too dodgy imo. Could be anything.

Mmmm i possibly could quite like Ayr in this Milners. I really think Stirling have been punching above their weight a bit last 7 or 8 games but have started to show their true worth last 2 after 2 bad performances. Ayr have no injury worries barr Masino(??) and i think they've an ok record v Stirling at home. Maybe they havent i dunno I could still be interested in Ayr i reckon. Nice price.

I'm pretty sure Dumbarton have gave Gretna 2 hard games this season. I'd like to chance the home but you can see Gretna sneaking it. I would sell Gretna goals if i was into spread betting etc. I'll probably have an interst in Dumbarton but probably a draw is as much as they could expect

I'll just agree with you on P{eterhead morton Milners. Thats what i think too. Suprised Morton are odds on for that. Peterhead were worth something at Morton the last game too. They gave them a game and a half from memory and were unlucky to lose (or draw)

Everything else looks a bit hard too. Montrose? Actually i like Stenhousemuir. Should be interesting their long ball hoofers with a few goal greabbers v Cowdenbeaths passing game. Be interested in reading the reports this season on this one.

I do expect Arbroath to lose at home quite soon but they have been showing signs of improvement under the new manager. A 3-2 defeat away from home to Cowdenbeath isn't too bad if you consider how well Cowdenbeath has played recently. Yes Queens Park have had a good result against the shire but the shire have problems with 3 players walking out and it surprised me that they drawn against Elgin at the weekend before. Arbroath home record against Queens park is 3-7-0 - lots of draws but i still fancy it even with Queens Parks recent results. Really should go to bed as i'm working early tomorrow but mucking about with websites!!!.

Bigkegman hope you find some decent info on Queens Park vs Arbroath that might help me out

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

I'll certainly be backing against those cursed, damned, horrible, lucky Stranraer boys again. 1.66 will do me fine with Clyde in good form and relatively strong at home. Come in Stranraer... your time is..... aye, well.

Looks a toughy for Morton although Peterhead are a bit too up and down for my liking. Probably not one I'd want to bet on, at least not at the moment. Forfar may get my attention though. Both they and Raith are having a poor run of results but Forfar aint bad at home: W4 D0 L3 F15 A11 - Forfar have already won 0-2 at Raith too and they may be due a wee slice of luck. One to look into.

Gamebookers I see have quite a few markets available for Scots lower leagues. At least compared to everyone else. There may well be some goodies to be had there too. See you all soon.

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

Interesting point of note, Pretty sure Ian MCall has never won a game against Dundee as manager of any club....

Shortlist
Hamilton - County lost last 2. Hamilton have good home record
Peterhead- Morton not won there. Peterhead on a decent run
Cowdenbeath - Going great guns, may be a good outside bet
Arbroath - Conditions at Gayfiled always favour the home side where they have won 3 on the bounce

** Warning - SNOW forecast this weekend in Scotland **

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

I would need to check back the records on soccerbase but I have a feeling that Dundee have only won once outside the City of Dundee in about 2 seasons. Not good travellers.1 Away win since May 2004 outside the city of Dundee does not bode well..

They won at Brechin I think mate this season. Did think about Dundee, then I saw the odds on them!
