Brian Coyne has quit as manager of cash-strapped Vauxhall Masterfit Retailers Welsh Premier club Cwmbran Town.
He announced his decision after his side's 3-0 reverse at Bangor City and the Crows could now face losing several more players.
Coyne (pictured), who left Newtown after a decade in charge to succeed the late Tony Wilcox in the summer of 2003, issued a parting shot at the people of Cwmbran.
"The apathy of the people in the community towards the club is frightening," he said.
"I have contacted at least 100 businesses myself during the summer - with absolutely no response."
Following the departure of chairman and chief benefactor John Colley in the close season, Cwmbran have been forced to make major cuts in the playing budget.
But Coyne paid tribute to new chairman Mike Lewis and his committee: "They have been fantastic over the last two and a half years," added Coyne, "but no-one is interested in backing the club and standards have dropped."
Despite an approach from Llanelli, midfielder Kris Thomas played at Farrar Road, but several other players are said to be interested in joining other Welsh Premier clubs, with Andy Mainwaring and Paul Bonar already having departed in recent weeks.
And their offical site:
Cwmbran will be holding a meeting with our playing staff this Tuesday to discuss the future and their commitment to the club. We will then hold a supporters meeting at a later date to inform everyone on how the club will be taken forward.
In the interim Sean Wharton will take take the roll as caretaker Manager for our next game agianst Caersws.
