I'll be liking Aberdeen whilst all the Aberdeen boys run scared Hibs will be popular mind. I like Killie at Hearts usually but a lot to think about with that one. Inverness havent won at home in over 6 months i think i read before the 1-1 draw with Aberdeen the other week.

Re: Scot's Premier - 25th/26th Oct

Havn't read any reports from the games today so these are just initial thoughts.

Don't think I'll be touching the Dons' game. May well be some value in Utd if someone offers 3/1 on them. Seem to have hit a bit of form and providing they don't lose on Tue night - I could really see them climbing the table. incidentally, their result today against Falkirk did my season long bet on them finishing above Falkirk the world of good !!!

The one for me could be Hibs at better than evens. Dunfermline not going well at all of late and Hibs (my brother said they wern't all that great today at Todders) have been playing some decent stuff, but more importantly, even when they are not they seem to get the results.

I think Caley are due someone a doing at their pitch and I can see it coming on Wed. Everyone is quoting their results at home and fair enough, they've been pretty poor. But thier performance in nearly every one has been really good. And they have been unlucky more often than not. 4/5 probably a bit stingy though for me.

Could possibly back the draw in the Livi v Rangers game. Probably not though.

Value in Killie at 8/1 for definite. Might take that at skybet tomorrow actually. Could see that shortening quite strongly before Wed night. Hearts obviously in a bit of turmoil with the leaving of burley today (more so the clubs handling of the whole situation which I think was a disgrace to their fans) and could be a potential shock. What you said Komp rung a bell regarding Killie's record at Tynecastle. I think I can remember them doing quite well there. Aye, there could potentially be an 8/1 shot coming home on wed night.

Hibs and Killie are the ones I'll be interested i think.

Yup...I agree Col, 2.10 on Hibs is a big price...Skybet have them at 1.73 and I'd have said somewhere in the middle. 1.90-1.95 ish.

H2Hs aren't too promising, but the way the Pars are just now its probably enough to ignore.

I like Brew's suggested X2, or a lay of ICT, especially if they are as far odds on as that

5/2 on dundee utd - great value there. Just back from the game!!! well a few drinks and a curry to finish off but 5/2 Dundee Utd. That will change i'm sure of that, Dundee utd will be shorter i think. Yet again we was rubbish ok the first half was ok but 1 upfront against hibs and another striker on the wing. As for Zander Diamond not good enough, McNaughton and Richie Byrne not good enough. Worrying for me i'm wonder if Calderwood has a clue - things don't look good as a Aberdeen fan.

Hibs are a standout 2.10 at Dunfermline. That won't last. I'm on. More later when I've had time to study the card.

Milners, what's happened to Zander? He was looking so promising last season.

Last he did look promising in a lot of games but he was always making mistakes but getting away with it with a fantastic challange but now the players against him have found out how to play against him but this season he's been at fault for a lot of the goals for us. We played with 1 lad upfront yesterday and it didn't really work in terms of chances made. Hibs looked impressive especially unfront with the players they have which they make a lot of off-the-ball running

Head to Head at the home teams ground

Aberdeen vs Dundee Utd - 7-0-3 (14 games since a draw)
Celtic vs Motherwell - 8-1-1 (Motherwell last win was 10 games ago)
Dunfermline vs Hibs - 2-7-1 (Hibs won last season 4-1)
Hearts v Kilmarnock - 6-3-1 (Hearts won the last 4 and Killie haven't won in 7)
Inverness CT v Falkirk - 1-2-7 (Inverness haven't won in 4)
Livingston v Rangers - 1-2-4 (Livingston haven't won in 5)

Re: Scot's Premier - 25th/26th Oct

Quick note at the moment but will add some comments later

2pts at 2.10 on Hibs with Bet365.

However, like I mentioned in the lower leagues thread, with current weather conditions I can see this being postponed.

Re: Scot's Premier - 25th/26th Oct

This upheaval at Tynecasetle certainly isn't a good thing for us as Hearts great form run was doing the punters a right turn. It might be the case this will continue but we'd be kidding ourselves if we think there's no risk of things going pearshaped.

Owners interfereing on the playing side can never be a good thing IMO and what sort of manager/coach or whatever label will be put on the next guy, who comes in now is crucial. Won't be easy getting the right man with Romanov wanting to pull too many strings. We could definitely have done without this.

As for the game tomorrow, I'm not as confident as I would have been before Saturday. Killie gave Celtic a fright yesterday, though their record at Tynecastle is poor.

Hibs are flying and have far too much talent for a Dunfermline side who could easily be relegated this season if Livvy can start picking up some points and Falkirk can keep treading water above the danger zone. Looks to be between these 3 for the fall through the Division 1 trap door. The Pars form is totally abysmal and Hibs will want to keep their momentum going with the Edinburgh derby looming at home this weekend. What a cracker is in prospect there. Anyway I'm getting ahead of myself.

I can see Falkirk getting something at Inverness as the home side are poor on their own patch and seem to play better on the counter attack. Falkirk will be happy with a point and if they sit in, Caley will find it very hard to break them down. I'm considering a lay of ICT, though this awful weather is off putting as the card could be decimated if there's no improvement and the forecast isn't good.

Aberdeen have a good H to H against Dundee Utd and for some reason I don't think they'll lose this one. United have picked up but still have plenty to prove. I laid Falkirk against United on Saturday but this is an altogether tougher match and I have a feeling the Dons could win it. A no bet for me.

Got to agree with you Parahandy with Aberdeen, we are poor but for some reason i don't think we will lose. We might not win either but its unusual for Aberdeen to lose at lose twice on the trot to teams outside the old firm. Last time was against Hibs and Dundee when Lovell scored in the 90th minute when Aberdeen had a youth team out due to injuries.

Old Firm combo

I know i know, odds are poor. But with a combo you can get 1.44 and this can be a nice couple of bankers.

Rangers finally has a great chance to win away (last was on 06/08/05 against Inverness) and Livingstone seems the right sparring partner to accomplish this.

Celtic hosts Motherwell and i don't see Celtic lose any other points (they draw the first match away 4-4) against them.

Any news about injuries and suspensions will be nice.
Of course opinions too.

Re: Scot's Premier - 25th/26th Oct

Looks good on paper and welcome on board quartex.

Id be weary of backing Rangers though. I know Livi are piss poor at the minute but they will have got some confidence from the weekends game even if they did end up throwing away the win.

Rangers have been struggling real bad as of late and have struggled to score goals especially and on a miserable wesneday night its looking like being you will have to wonder if the Rangers players will beup forthe battle, as thatsexactly what it will be.

McCleish is also undersome pressure at the minutenow with lots of speculation about Burley getting his job so not ideal conditions for Rangers imo.

All the best though as i do imagineyour double will come off

Re: Scot's Premier - 25th/26th Oct

Right, Hibs.

Basically, Bet365 made an ass of it with their opening odds quote. Hibs should not have been odds against away at Dunfermline. They sit 3rd in the table, ahead of Rangers, totally on merit. They are scoring goals while defensively remain pretty solid - only 12 goals conceded this season with 4 of them in the one game at Hearts.

Their last 4 aways

@ Aberdeen W 1-0
@ Motherwell W 3-1
@ Rangers W 3-0
@ Falkirk W 2-0

4 wins, 9 scored, 1 conceded and ALL opponents better than Dunfermline.

Dunfermline must be thankful that Livi are in the league to save them from bottom place, 5 points all season, 1 win. At home their record is 1-0-4 with a miserly 2 scored and 9 conceded.

Hibs haven't lost here since 2001, a run of 6 matches. Its also worth noting that while Hearts are taking all the headlines this season, Hibs are quietly but efficiently putting together good results and good performances. The most notable comment I read about them of late was that after coming back from 2-0 down at home to Killie to win 4-2 their 2nd half performance was described as being the best football played by a Scottish side this season.

Basically, Hibs should never have been odds against. Skybet and Stan James go 1.73 and the best available now is the 2.00 at Paddy Power.
