St Mirren @ Evens Corals
Berwick ht/ft @ 4/5 @ Betfred

whilst im in town.

I was having a wee think about Hamilton myself Komp but I'm a leeetle beeet worried. St Johnstone have notched 6 in their last 2 now and I'm wary they've got all those missed chances out their system. Bah! It's a tricky one. You have to say there's value in the 3.4 for Hamilton @ Ladbrokes but it looks very tight.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Midweek Mentalness - 25/26th Oct

Right I am away for a few days with no computer access. Some tasty lower league games so have gone for

5pts Queens Park vs COWDENBEATH DNB 5/2 6/5
3pts Albion vs MONTROSE DNB 5/2 11/8
3pts ST JOHNSTONE vs Hamilton Evens
1pt Gretna vs RAITH 7/1

Some excellent analysis from you guys. I am going with three teams in my main bet all who scored a few at the weekend. I agree ALbion will be poor at home and I just fancy St Johnstone to win this one. Did consider ST Mirren but odds a bit short

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Midweek Mentalness - 25/26th Oct

With the way the rain has been belting down since yesterday, and is likely to continue for the rest of the week, then I can see a few games being off.

I am on the following at the moment, big bets but big prices.

4pts at 1.40 on Gretna with Ladbrokes

4pts at 1.40 on Berwick with Victor Chandler

Will add some comments later.

I am taking 3pts also on Queen of the South DNB.

Brechin have been rotten this season and have 3 goals to Dundee, ST Johnstone and Hamilton recently. The opposition here is more their level but still Should manage a point at worst

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Midweek Mentalness - 25/26th Oct

Just a quick word ,ladbrokes go 11/4 h/t f/t for cowdenbeath its a risky
bet but worth a small intrest
Queens park are not playing well at the moment, and have a poor h/t
record this season.

corals go 3/1

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Midweek Mentalness - 25/26th Oct

Might go with Queens park here if the injuries are as bad as Cowdenbeath are saying:

Brazil boss Mixu Paatelainen does not have his worries to seek as his Cowden side attempt to extend their run of five successive victories when they travel to Hampden to face Queens Park on Tuesday night.
Having steered his side into third spot behind Berwick and Stenhousemuir, Mixu now finds himself faced with a major injury crisis.

Already without Liam Buchanan, John Cusick and Iain Mauchlen in recent weeks, Cowden were hit again when midfielder Graham Guy was forced to miss the match against East Stirling on Saturday because of a hamstring problem.

Although Cowden cruised to a 5-1 win over Shire, there was a heavy price to pay as three more automatic choices were added to the injured list including leading scorer Ryan McCallum who took a bad calf knock.

Full-backs Mark Baxter and Kevin McBride both had to be subbed off and will face a late fitness test before the 7.30pm kick-off at Hampden.

Mixu said, "We will just have to wait and see who is available to play against Queens Park who are a well-organised side.

"However, Hampden should suit our passing game and we will be adopting a positive attitude whatever our starting line-up turns out to be."

Well that's ruined my week, milners. Cheers. I really thought 'beath would keep on cruising. I may need better odds before I chance it now. Nah, I think I'll still chance them to nick it.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Midweek Mentalness - 25/26th Oct

Not a lot that I am going to add about the Gretna and Berwick punts apart from the fact that the prices I got were, certainly in the Berwick case, way out of line with the rest of the market.

Some suggest that Gretna have struggled of late but they are still winning games and are top of the league, 8-2-0 for the season with the best attack and best defence.

Raith have proved better than expected and have a decent away record so far of 4 wins and 1 defeat. Notably however the defeat was at the 2nd best side in the league, Morton.

Gretna have already won 3-1 at Raith in the league this season and while the price isn't huge, its certainly good in relation to whats available elsewhere (as low as 1.25 at Totalbet).

Berwick are 5 out of 5 away from home, top of the league, best attack, best defence and playing East Stirling who are back in their usual position of bottom with the worst defence in the league. E Stirling produced some decentish performances for a while but are back into the situation of conceding, the 5 at Cowdenbeath at the weekend being an example.

The 1.40 from VC is huge when Bet Direct only go 1.33 as next best. IMO, they have got it wrong and its worth lumping on at 1.40.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Midweek Mentalness - 25/26th Oct

picked my 4 for this midweek card:

5pts - PATRICK THISTLE vs Peterhead (1.57 Bet365)
3pts - Albion Rovers vs MONTROSE (2.5 Stan James)
3pts - Dunfermline vs HIBS (2.00 Paddy Power)
1pt - QUEENS PARK vs Cowdenbeath (3.1 Centrebet)

or in the bettingadvice way its 8,5,5,2pts

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Midweek Mentalness - 25/26th Oct

Aye good luck Milners and Crowie. I'll have something myself but i havent decided what yet

Looks like im stuck to Hills too. Still thats never bothered me. Reading that East stirling rested Ally Graham on saturday for this game. seems they'll be fired up. Last one finished 3-2 too. Berwick should be worth the price and i'd take the ht/ft on them too as well as the Victor Chandler price.

I couldnt seperate QP & Cowdenbeath. Stenny to win at elgin? Both teams been bad lately. If stenny dort out the centre of the middlefielf they could and should have too much for Elgin. slightly tempted. Nah im not.

Quote:
Gretna v Raith Rovers
Gretna have defender Andy Aitken sidelined with cartilage trouble for the visit of Raith Rovers.
The Division Two leaders are out to defend a superb record of having won nine games out of a possible 10 played.
Raith have some players carrying knocks from Saturday's defeat by Morton but hope to travel to Raydale Park with a full-strength squad.
Manager Gordon Dalziel is stressing to his side that they cannot again afford to miss good chances.
Aye i'll take Raith. Get into the Gretna b#**%$%!!!

Im gonna keep an eye on the Moore situation and if he is out im going every penny i have on St Mirren

Quote:
Stranraer v St Mirren
Stranraer are unable to fill their subs' bench due to injuries, with defender Stephen Swift and midfielders Gary McPhee and Ian Ross out injured.
Defender Murray Henderson is struggling with a head gash.
And striker Michael Moore could be ruled out if found guilty of an infringement in a game against Airdrie United back in August.
St Mirren defender Kevin McGowne is a doubt, while forward Brian McGinty and midfielder Ryan McCay could miss out.
Both lack of match fitness, but midfielder Mark Reilly could return for the Division One leaders after his return from injury.

bollocks Hills only go 8/11 You can get evens in Corals I reckon St Mirren will win this 2-0 and not give us too much concern. I need something else to go with that 8/11

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Midweek Mentalness - 25/26th Oct

Ive got the worst price on St Mirren If only there was a Corals shop next to me with them sitting lovely at Even money written beside them

Anyhow looking at Hamilton. I cant chance them but it should be a great game. 2 good points raised on pie and bovril forum. First from a Hamilton fan and then a St J fan.

Quote:
but st. mirren, despite being top of the league, are not the form team atm. Hamilton most definatey are, and saints are a good outfit too. I would expect to beat them, after what i saw in the cup game - saints didnt offer too much (close Scotland down and you have them stumped - wilson and neil can do this i believe), and send gilhanney (sp) dwn the wing and Accies could put Saints on the rack. Keogh is in good form as is Graeme Jones, so i would expect them to get their heads on crosses, with neil and tunbridge following up anything coming out. Our only weakness is our defence, and in particular our goalkeeper at crosses and corners - he just can't judge them at all.
but an equally a good point.

Quote:
Close Neil down and you have Hamilton stumped though and they'll have to resort to long balls. And with Kevin James in defence....
