Re: Coca Cola League 2 - 1st Oct

Gotta be quick as going out the door but IMO the 1.9 for Cheltenham at home is a great bet seeing as Hills price this up a more realistic 1.7....

Re: Coca Cola League 2 - 1st Oct

off the top from me......

Barnet aint that hot at home are they? Agree on the Cheltenham price AMP. Didnt they have 2 or 3 out last weekend mind? Could be good as Torquay are murder but i belive their injuries are lessening.

Orient aint all that at home are they? Mansfield like being away too and theres Orients 110x80 yd pitch to take into acount. Are Notts county still winning on the road? Macclesfield are ok if i remember what Christian says. Northampton are ropey at home but i still usuall like to have a look at them. Rochdale and Grimsby must be worth a look are they not?

Oh and what about Wrexham and more so Wycombe at home?

Re: Coca Cola League 2 - 1st Oct

We aren't hot at home komp but that's when we played 4-5-1. Since we've gone back to 4-4-2 we pose more of an attacking threat. Our influential defender that I've been banging on about Ismail Yakubu (1 booking last season) was sent-off on his reutrn to the side and will miss the game so expect the defence to be as frail as ever. But Liam Hatch maybe back, our top assists man from last season, a big no-nonense striker who can put himself about give these L2 thuggish defences a taste of their own medicine, he came off the bench last saturday and rescued a point for us. I wouldn't be surprised if he's now fit enough to start. Betting against us would therefore be almost as dangerous as betting on us in my view .

Re: Coca Cola League 2 - 1st Oct

Wrexham's young second string goalie had a terrible game against Wycombe
Wexham have been reasonable at home but their form is deteriorating.
These are their last 5 matches

09-27 Wycombe 4-1 Wrexham
09-24 Wrexham 1-1 Macclesfield
09-17 Leyton O. 1-1 Wrexham
09-13 Lincoln 2-0 Wrexham
09-10 Wrexham 2-0 Cheltenham

Wrexham's small squad and their injuries are taking their toll ,against Macclesfield they threw away the lead. While Stockport appear to be improving with decent results against the teams at the top

09-27 Lincoln 2-0 Stockport
09-24Stockport 0-0 Chester City
09-17 Rushden 3-2 Stockport
09-10 Stockport 3-3 Wycombe
09-02 Grimsby 1-3 Stockport

Stockport had a poor performance against Lincoln midweek, but against Rushden
a last-gasp goal from John Dempster gave Rushden & Diamonds three points as they twice came from behind.
Stockport @ 4.00 is tempting

Re: Coca Cola League 2 - 1st Oct

Cheers Frodo. I think i will look into it as i have a 'wee thing' about Oxford this season but truth be told i aint really had a chance to get right into it so im kinda fluttering about.

Actually Frodo just looking at Oxfords recent form and i could have missed the lead on them a bit
http://www.betbase.info/?matchid=f53135

Fcuking going on about them, go do something else for a couple a weeks and look theyve won their last 3. Bloody hate that. Still 15/8 Oxford with sporting odds but i still could be in for some of that 9/5 in Hills. Probably start drawing again now im back on them :huff

I was gonna mention that Wrexhams form is still not bad imo Traeth and that Stockports was a bit patch then i saw their 3-1 at Grimsby and thought that that was a good away result to get and then when i saw you mention they were 3/1 if jumped a wee bit. Seems a big price. I cant get involved as ive a wee thing for Wrexham at home but i bet you there will be others that find that 3/1 tempting. Gonna be a high scoring draw aint it?

Re: Coca Cola League 2 - 1st Oct

Boston have drawn 7 of their last 10. Lincoln have beaten Bury 1-0 last 3 games in the past year.

Torquay beaten Cheltenham 3-1 both times the season before last. Dont know how much that applies. Hows Torquay's injury crisis anyone?

Orient v Mansfield is a funny one. You'd be all over orient if their home form was a bit better. Mansfield look to have probs in defence where upon they concede loads. They like to score too mind. Stan James (free £25) go 4/5 on the over 2.5 goals. Looks to have a load in it for me. Orient unbeaten in 5 v Mansfield and won 4/5.

Maccelsfield beat Notts county 5-0 at Notts County at the start of the year. I thought someone said Macclsefield were good? looking at their form theyve won 1 game all season or something. I was getting all excited there as i had noticed that Notts County hadnt actually won in 5 games and their early seaon form could be leaving them. Beaten 4-0 last time out at Grimsby too i was gonna mention. Then there was Maccelsfield getting beaten 4-1 at home to Northampton and them NOT being good but pish

Northamptons home form just lets them down for me to consider at home to darlington. Darlington havent beaten them in 2 seasons. Last twice 1-1 draws. Dodgy

Shrewsbury dont fcuk about at home. Puts me off Grimsby. Shrewsbury won 1-0 away there last season and 1-1 at home.

Wrexham beat Stockport twice last season Traeth (1-4, 2-1) and also 2-0 at home in the lsd cup.

ooooo Wycombe at 5/6. Wycombe i could pick em.!

Wycombe at home used to be a scary thing but this season they seem to have turned over that hoodoo and are scoring for fun. Theyve drawn twice at home but they were playing Northampton and Cheltenham. Chester have had a great start too but i dont think their form adds up to them being able to get anything at Wycombe. Wycome beat them 4-2 and 0-2 last season too. If that Tyson fella is playing etc im for them on my big line.

Anyone following me in shouting Wycombe I could pick 'em!

Quote:
2 sacked, and one resigned!

By Mark Sweetmore
Date: 22/9/2005

After only 9 games of the League 2 season, 2 managers of League 2 clubs have been giving their marching orders, and one has resigned! More to follow inside.

Carlton Palmer
The first managerial casualty of the season, former Stockport County boss Palmer recently resigned from his position at Mansfield. At present, Mansfield sit 3rd from bottom of the League 2 table, hovering precariously over the Conference trap door! After only 1 win and 3 draws from their opening 9 games, Mansfield's 2 : 0 defeat to early pace setters Rochdale hammered the final nail into the coffin for Palmer. After chants for his head throughout the game, Palmer ran upto the pressbox straight on the final whistle and announced his resignation to the media, proclaiming "The fans have made my position as manager of this club untenable"

Graham Barrow

The first manager of League 2 2005/2006 to be sacked! Former Wigan, Chester and Rochdale boss Barrow had his contract terminated at Gigg Lane with immediate effect on Monday, alongside his assistant coach Ray Mathias. The Shakers are currently in 23rd place in League 2, and although its early on in the season, things dont look too promising! During his time at Gigg, Barrow had severe money restrictions to work with, and after taking over from Andy Preece in 2003, many Shakers felt he was the man to take them back into their glory days! However, it wasn't to be, and after 1 win and 3 draws, the Bury board decided enough was enough, and are now searching for a new manager!

Ian Atkins

After quitting as Oxford United boss in 2004, Atkins took over the manager's role at Bristol Rovers, and many fans expected him to succeed! However, after a poor start to the 2005/2006 season, Atkins has been told he will not have his contract renewed. Atkins remains a payed employee of Bristol Rovers, but at the expiry date of his contract, his contract will not be renewed! After picking up only 9 points so far this season, Rovers are fading away in 19th place, and the board obviuosly felt a change was necessary!

So there we are, only 9 games in and 3 have gone already, Who'll be next??

worth a read. No div 2 fans onboard? Im gonna try some spamming. Spamming demoralises me though

Re: Coca Cola League 2 - 1st Oct

There isnt much scope for a bet in L2 this week truth be told but im happy to stick a point on the Rovers at 3/1 against Carlisle. I cant justify it too much truth be told so I wont attempt too!

Carlisle vs Bristol Rovers 1pt@3/1

Re: Coca Cola League 2 - 1st Oct

Have to admit to fancying Bury's chances @ home to Lincoln, local club i've always had a soft spot for as its just down the rd and talking to a couple of nephews who are fans they didnt play at all badly in midweek.
Funny things happen when managers are sacked and for a wee while you normally see a big improvement for a few weeks, Mathew Tipton is also fit again after missing midweek which should also give them a boost.

Bury v Lincoln City 1 @ 2.25's bet365

Lincoln draw like fcuk to me slick and Bury have always been better on the road. stayed in Radcliffe for a few weeks during the '92 Euro championships. That dont help you in getting a pick but thought id mention it. I couldnt back Bury truth be told Slick. Not with Wycombe and Oxford about.
