Re: Coca Cola League 2 - 1st Oct

Wycombe v Chester

Team news from the BBC:

Wycombe boss John Gorman is expected to stick with the same side that thrashed Wrexham 4-1.
Midfielder Rob Lee is still struggling with an Achilles problem and long-term absentees Mark Philo, Will Antwi and Charlie Griffin are still missing.

Chester defender Sean Hessey has picked up a knee injury and is expected to be sidelined for up to a week.

Manager Keith Curle has no other injury worries, with Phil Bolland fit to return from an ankle knock.

....Chester are unbeaten in the last 4, have lost only to top side Grimsby this season, are unbeaten away...winning 2, drawing 3, goals 4-2.

I'm certainly not saying that theyre going to go to Wycombe & win...& Wycombes odds look good....but surely theres easier bets to be had than 2nd v 3rd ??

No bet

CHELTENHAM v TORQUAY

Cheltenham have won the last 2, beating Northampton & Peterborough.

From the BBC:
Cheltenham manager John Ward could be boosted by the return of Steve Guinan (ankle) and Shane Duff (broken foot).
Striker Gary Bradshaw will go straight into squad if he completes his move from North Ferriby on Friday but midfielder JJ Melligan is doubtful.

Torquay boss Leroy Rosenior could hand a debut to on-loan Huddersfield striker John McAliskey.

Winger Tony Bedeau hopes to be back after a hamstring injury but midfielder Darren Garner is suspended.

....Cheltenhams home record is won 3, drawn 2, lost 1 (Carlisle) 11-7
Torquays away record is won 0, drawn 1, lost 5. 2-13

Torquay have produced the odd result but always @ home, & dont travel well @ all, & around 10/11 is well handy IMO

ROCHDALE v RUSHDEN

Not much to say on this really except that I think Rochdale are decent & score goals, & Rushden are poor & ...errr....dont !!

BBC:
Rochdale midfielder Lee Cartwright could make his return on the bench after recovering from a foot injury.
Grant Holt serves one-match ban, while Ernie Cooksey (foot) and Neil Brisco (dislocated shoulder) are both out.

Rushden captain Dave Savage could miss out after picking up a knock in the midweek defeat against Northampton.

Midfielder David Bell (knee) and defender Graham Allen (Achilles) are once again set to miss out and Gary Mills (knee) has just resumed training.

....Rochdale have won their last 3 @ home, beating Macclesfield, Mansfield & Torquay...& have a home record of 3-1-2-11-6
Rushdens away record reads 1-2-2-4-7

Odds arent great but they'll do

Re: Coca Cola League 2 - 1st Oct

from the bbc...

Barnet v Oxford
Defender Ismail Yakubu is suspended for Barnet as he begins a three-match ban for his red card against Shrewsbury.

Bees boss Paul Fairclough is hoping Ian Hendon can recover from a groin injury in time to replace Yakubu.

Oxford boss Brian Talbot will go with the same team that won 1-0 at Rochdale in midweek.

That means Chris Hackett, Chris Hargreaves and Stuart Gray remain on the sidelines, so youngster Kyle McCoy keeps his place in the squad.

Boston Utd v Peterborough
Boston welcome back defender Austin McCann after serving a one-match ban.

However, Steve Melton is lacking match fitness and Chris Holland (hernia) is a fortnight away from a return to action.

Defender Sagi Burton is a doubt for Peterborough after suffering a hand injury against Cheltenham and Peter Gain could miss out with a calf injury.

Jamie Hand should be fit after shaking off a thigh strain to play against Cheltenham, but striker Calum Willock (knee) is still out.

Bury v Lincoln
Bury have been boosted by the news that strike duo Matthew Tipton and Jon Newby have returned to fitness after missing Tuesday's win over Bristol Rovers.

Defender Lee Unsworth faces another month on the sidelines as he recovers from a groin operation.

Lincoln welcome back Lee Beevers after the defender's one-match ban.

Keeper Alan Marriott and defender Paul Morgan are still suspended while defenders Jamie McCombe (toe) and Jeff Hughes (hamstring) also miss out.

Carlisle v Bristol Rovers
Carlisle boss Paul Simpson has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Simon Hackney (virus) and Derek Holmes (calf) are back in Simpson's plans after turning out for the reserves and Raphael Nade could be in on the bench.

Bristol Rovers caretaker boss Paul Trollope has no injury or suspension problems to contend with.

Stuart Campbell's wife is expecting a baby and may not travel, but otherwise Trollope is likely to stick with the same side that lost to Bury in midweek.

Leyton Orient v Mansfield
High-flying Leyton Orient are likely to be unchanged as they aim to secure their fourth win in five matches.

The only absentee is striker Lee Steele, who underwent a double hernia operation recently and is not expected back for more than a month.

Mansfield caretaker manager Peter Shirtliff will have Jon-Olav Hjelde back in contention after a ban.

Chris Beardsley (broken leg) is still out of contention but Jason Talbot could return.

Macclesfield v Notts County
Macclesfield's Kevin Sandwith (dead leg) failed to come through a fitness test so boss Brian Horton expects to name an unchanged squad.

Jon Parkin, Neil MacKenzie and Mark Bailey are also set to remain sidelined while on-loan Michael Symes is back at Bradford after his ankle operation.

Notts County manager Gudjon Thordarson is without Lewis McMahon and Julien Baudet through suspension.

However, Steve Scoffham returns to the fold after completing his ban.

Northampton v Darlington
Northampton's on-loan West Ham forward Petr Mikolanda is set to miss out with an ankle injury.

Sean Dyche (hamstring) faces a late fitness test and Martin Smith (knee) is unlikely to be risked despite coming through 90 minutes for the reserves.

Sam Russell (shoulder) and Shelton Martis (ankle) are the only slight doubts for Darlington.

The Quakers are without a win in five League Two outings following Tuesday's goalless draw with Boston.

Rochdale v Rushden & Diamonds
Rochdale midfielder Lee Cartwright could make his return on the bench after recovering from a foot injury.

Grant Holt serves one-match ban, while Ernie Cooksey (foot) and Neil Brisco (dislocated shoulder) are both out.

Rushden captain Dave Savage could miss out after picking up a knock in the midweek defeat against Northampton.

Midfielder David Bell (knee) and defender Graham Allen (Achilles) are once again set to miss out and Gary Mills (knee) has just resumed training.

Shrewsbury v Grimsby
Shrewsbury boss Gary Peters will be without James Tolley after he was handed a three-match ban for his red card against Barnet in midweek.

Kelvin Langmead should be back after suspension but Dave Edwards (groin) is likely to be out for another week.

Grimsby manager Russell Slade has no new injury or suspension worries.

Midfielder Paul Bolland has recovered from the gash on his nose that forced him off during Tuesday's 4-0 win over Notts County.

Wrexham v Stockport
Wrexham keeper Michael Ingham (groin) is almost certain to miss out again, leaving youngster Michael Jones to continue between the posts.

Paul Warhurst, Paul Linwood and Dave Bayliss face fitness tests. Andy Holt, Lee McEvilly, Jim Whitley, Lee Roche, Matt Crowell and Shaun Pejic miss out.

Stockport boss Chris Turner is likely to name an unchanged squad.

Danny Boshell (groin) is likely to stay sidelined, along with Harpal Singh, Jermaine Easter and Mickael Wolski
