Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

St Mirren should have their backers at that price...Hamilton a decent side but still very average at home.

Will be hoping for evens to pop up on St Johnstone too.

Another bang on form side(barring a 90th minute defeat) Ayr at evens as well vs an uninspiring Stirling...shaping up well this card is.

Albion away price is another tempter...we all know their record.

At the moment I'd take those four aways at mostly over evens, and would be surprised not to hit 2 from 4. But then there's that loverly Stenny price too to make it an uneven 5

The usual suspects Berwick, Gretna and Morton look a bit short at the mo

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

mmm looks a bit tougher this weekend than last weekend when the majority of what i fancied come in.

St Mirren was one I thought looked good decent price for a team that hates there pitch so they have a good chance there.

Heard St Johnstone wasn't that great against Clyde also i was quite impressed who Stranraer looked against Aberdeen quite organised and a lot of players quite tall. The also won last weekend.

Here is Calderwood thoughts on Stranraer in today Daily Record which he has a column:

"Stranraer's organisation and attitude impressed me even though Aberdeen beat the First Division side in the CIS Cup.

Their manager NeilWatt has done an outstanding job in taking the club through the leagues. But I have to take exception to his comments that managers in the SPL have an easy time of it and that more of us could operate on a part-time basis That is utter nonsense. No post in the SPL could be run properly if you weren't full-time." blah blah blah after that.

Think Partick are in the road to recovery and fancy them against Alloa who have had two of the toughest games this season Gretna/Morton. Raith is another i think will win.

Wonder if Stenhousemuir will slip up on saturday now that Cowdenbeath has won 2 on the trot maybe worth dodging that result.

Not sure in the East Stirling vs Albion Rovers - yes Albion Rovers had a good away record last season but i'm not sure i still think this could go either way - fight against the bottom 2 i think.

Queens Park against managerless (i presume) Arbroath might be a decent pick. Think I'll wait till teams news but will do a bit of research on previous results form etc.

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Ive heard your boys could have played a bit better last 2 games too Saint. Long balling it up to Sutton etc. nah not one for me.

Airdrie v Clyde - A potential cracker but dodgy poss for a bet. Im swayed towards Airdrie who havent done anything wrong really this season and have been solid last 4 games. Reading they missed a penatly 85th minute at St Mirren and looked lively before. They lost Prunty i believe who was creating a lot of their stuff so thats a consideration. clyde have started to look a bit average from what i remember and i could possibly be tempted on the home here but i'd like something a bit stronger at this early stage.

Brechin v Dundee - Havent read up on last week for either of these teams but Brechin geting beaten by Stranraer is bad form imo and ive heard that Dundee with their 1st team front line being back could start picking up points. Need to look at this and it sounds mad to consider Dundee but i will.

HAmilton v St Mirren - its known that me and the Hamilton players aint fans of them on their plastic pitch and St Mirren's tenacious away record continues. If you tied me up and said you were gonna bugger me with a vile collection of objects unless i told you an outcome of this then i would say a draw and i'd probably have a 50/50 chance of escaping with my rectum intact. Draw written all over it aint it? Reckon they'll both be happy enough with that.

Ross County - QOS - Bet365's 13/2 on the away looks pretty big to me. Yes Ross are playing well and are sitting top and QOS must be about bottom now. I dont trust Ross at home and think QOS with a frontman back and maybe a wee bit of luck could win this one. As it stands though i cant see how they are gonna score but i certainly wouldnt be interested in Ross.

Stranraer v st Johnstone - Hah ha i was always gonna be on this one. The blues v the blues. Lemme see the h2h's on this one as i think ive always been on St J at Stranraer.
http://www.soccerbase.com/head2.sd?t...2&team1id=2449

aye well its been few and far between but ive never lost on them yet. To me it just says ST JOHNSTONE WILL WIN THIS ONE to me. Loads to look at as St J are a funny lot under Coyle and Stranraer had their win at Brechin last week. It could go all wrong but i reckon im on this already

Alloa v Partick is a fasccinating encounter if you dont mind me going over the top a bit. I like the home and i like the away. Anything can happen but if pushed i'd have the home at the 7/4 and also an over goals bet with 10bet (please note ive done shite with my 10bet over under goals bets so far much to my disgust)

Gretna v Dumbarton - Horrible game. sounds shite and even looks shite. Dumbarton should have a few men behind the ball. Ive been fearing for my own sanity this week but never as much as now as i want to say i fancy the away here. I dont but i think it wont be all plain sailing. I could just as easily say that the 2/7 at paddy power on the home . nah i aint saying that. I fancy dumbarton and i'll have em on a mad outsider line. Minimum stakes mind. Interestingly interest stakes. Nah i cant back Dumbarton i m throwing my money away i should just not get involved.

Morton v Peterhead - Morton are rock hard aint they? They dont arse about especially at home. I aint read up on Peterhead's performance v Raith but with everything considered the 4/9 in Blue Square and ladbrokes (etc ) looks a bit big. Forfar managed to contain Morton a while at home i nthe league but looking at thall thier games from memory theyve been strang as hell and no messing about. Peterhead will be fighting out for relegation this season and you just cant imagine them getting anything at Morton. Morton are 1/3 shots imo.

Raith v Forfar - dont want to coment to much as i aint read up too much but ive got a wee sneak for Forfar this week. Looks like 'just one of them games' and the 7/2 on the away could be worth a consideration i reckon. Be hard but it could happen.

Stirling v Ayr - Im down on this one too. I'd have backed against both these teams this week so i was dismayed to see them playing each other. Stirling seem just plain murder and Ayr after a good start have started to show signs to me that they are just a team of ex juniors and will be doing well being top half at best. They have been missing Vareille mind and with him they seem inspired a bit. should be back and with Stirling being awfull lately i could be talked into Ayr. Nah i dunno. Nah i have doubts from the off...but with Vareillle..i duno.

Berwick v Montrose - Again another one that i think the awy is too big a price but with nothing to really back it up. Just got bad vibes on Berwick but you'll notice i get like that every week their at home. Nah its all too short for me and i wouldnt be suprised if there ws an upset here. I would be less suprised if Berwick won 3-0 and Montrose are still shit though

Cowdenbeath v Stenhousemuir - arrrrgh!! anything bar this nooooo. I dont want to go near this one. Beath's silky soccey u against Stenhousemuir's attacking options. Explosive. I aint getting involved but ...nah i couldnt seperate them. Good luck if you dare.

East Stirling v Albion rovers - This is possibly more like it. East Stirling are playing bad by their recent standards. Graham and Diak seem to be more and more ineffective and even Johnny Walker couldnt distil any spirit in the team. Albion Rovers have been a funny old team this season but they seem to be playing ok with the introduction of Lennon at the back and seem to be lively enough. Theyve thrown away leads in games maybe due to fitness but they'll never get a better chance to get back to winning ways on the road. Ukbetting nd Totalbet look way out with their 11/8. 19/20 in my local Hills and Hills are pretty good at squeezing me out on these sort of bets.

Elgin v East Fife - I need to look at elgin but based purely on EastFife then imo their red hot and i'd prob take them v most teams at the mo. Theyve all their 1st teamers back from the days when there was 9 out at the start of the season and theres some good players there and their playing well together from what ive read. My Tipster Challenge bet will be in early this week at i dont think Bet365's 13/10 will hang about. More to look at but i like EF in this.

Queens Pk v Arbroath - Never knew Cairney had resigned Milners as ive been on my hols. Been lying in bed with the sun coming through he window as i lie in bed watching pornography. You cannae beat it! Sorry errrr aye Queens Pk seem worth a look but only if they dont have many out and Harvey is playing. Arbroath seem really bad. I expect them to get better but they aint showing many signs of it. QP on form are qute solid. I aint a fan of them at home mind and need to check that. Lets look as i aint got out planned (anyone play Pro Evo 4 on xbox btw? )

Scottish Division 3 Queen's Park 1-2 Stenh'semuir 06-08-2005

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

I'd have Queens Park personally Newport but this is only based on Ayr getting a doing in their last 3 games irespective of results Newport. I do think Vareille will make a differance but one man dont make a team. I think they'll stilll sneak it only if he plays and also poss the 2 defenders theyve had out come back.

Queens Park are pretty solid. Infact i shouldnt comment Newport till im more read up. I'll be on your 2 no doubt and prob throw St Johnstone in there too. I wont be even near ready though even on saturday morning to pick my lines. Gonna take a bit of time this week as i need to be certain or else its gonna be a hard few days of no food and fags

Welcome to the Daily Punt btw Newport

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Hi there! Nice to see a Scottish football section! I have been betting on Scottish football for a long time, I find it more reliable than English football, I do not profess to have the knowledge of the tipsters on here though, I just like betting on Scottish football.

I thought the surest bet of the week was Berwick, but now I am not so sure, do you really think that Montrose can cause them problems? surley not on the form Montrose have displayed so far!

Welcome to The Daily Punt, newport. As Komp said above, East Fife appear to be hot at the moment. Their fans seem positive and their performances have been good. They played very well at Stenhousemuir recently and sound to me like they were the better side. I'm just looking at their stats for that match: 12 shots on goal to Stenny's 8 and 15 corners to 4. Crikey.

I reckon I'll be on the away myself. I'm away to dig around.

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

The same person Komp? no!

I have been looking at Albion, it seems that East Stirlingshire are slowly but surely slipping back to their old ways, and although Albion are no great shakes, they have at least won away at Montrose, drawn away with Elgin and drawn with Arbroath, good enough to beat Eastie surely, in their last four matches East S. have managed get a draw with Montrose, but, they lost the other three. Still looking for more!
