Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Partick were considered for tomorrow. Their 3 away games have seen them draw 2-2 at Ayr and Gretna and 1-1 at Peterhead. Alloa seem to have hit a sticky patch and have lost 8 goals to the top 2 in their last 2 league games. Stan James do go a decent 2.38 Partick but I would prefer to see more from the before backing them.

Raith have hit a good run of 4 wins and a draw (3-3 v Ayr) in 5 games after a tough start to the season v the top 2. 14 goals scored in those 5 games as well so they know how to put the ball in the net at the moment. I am tempted by them but would like more than the 1.73 at Stan James. I will try Betfair I think.

You don't need me to tell you Gretna will beat Dumbarton and Nordicbet go 1.30 which is better than anything else about.

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Aye but Crowie if you look at Ayr's last 3 games they have been dire in them irrespective of results and from the radio reports on Westsound (see DP Radio) they have been recieving a right pummeling from what the reporter has been saying. Aye they'll have Vareille back and aye Stirling are awful but i cant bring myself to back them based on what ive heard about Ayr's recent form. Seems like most things go through Vareille and he's likely to grab a goal so i'd say theyre in with a shout but again i still fear that theyve got over their initial team spirit and their leveling out a bit. That aside Stirling are awful and i'd expect Ayr to win. Good luck mate.

I'd take that 1.50 on Morton too if i could. Like you say there should be no reason why theyre form should take a dent.

Ross i agree shouldnt have any probs but again im wary of them at home. Can see Ross going 1 up in 10 minutes and then never seeing it on live score till the 80th minute when either QOS will equalise or Ross will put it safe. I reckon i'll chance the ht on it Crowie.

Dundee's away record is enough to put me off that cheers Mr C. I forgot about that and it reinforces my thoughts that both teams would be happy with a draw.

Shit i better get started

Alloa i think have been unlucky a bit at home over them games Crowie and can just see them coming out fired up for this one. Partick seem to get caught cold a bit. I quite like Partick at the mo and possibly over evaluate them but i just think going to alloa wil be a hard game for them. Can see a few goals from either side.

Ive just got an ilogical fancy for Forfar this wek Crowie but its based on jack shit

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Division 3 is a minefield apart from Berwick v Montrose but I won't start putting on advices for best priced 1.40 teams however I do think Berwick should win easily enough.

Stennys injuries are a worry and would certainly put me off them.

Queens Park make a bit of appeal considering Arbroath have taken 1 point from their last 5 games (rather bizarrely v Stenny in a 1-1 draw as well!). Their results round that draw saw humpings v Berwick and Cowdenbeath and losses at Montrose and East Stirling which believe me is harder to do that it sounds!!

In fact looking closer at Queens Park they make a bit more appeal and I think I will have

1pt on Queens Park at 2.20 with BetDirect

The other two games are not worth considering IMO.

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Im glad you like QP Crowie as thats one i want on my main line. Not looked at it but with some half decent team news (the usual King and rennie out for Arbroath) and with Harvey back i should follow suit.

Elgin are improving but i really think they aint gonna have enough to contain an experienced East Fife side. I reckon East Fife are playing their best footie in 4 years and getting their best results in the past 2 years. I cant see me not being on them either.

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Quote:

It’s the long trip to the South West for Saints tomorrow when they take on Stranraer at Stair Park.

In the wake of Tuesday’s Bell’s Cup semi-final defeat to Hamilton, Manager Owen Coyle has talked of an even greater determination to bring league success to Perth to make up for the disappointment of losing out on the chance of a cup final and has urged his players to show the drive, attitude and determination required.

Simon Mensing is available again after his one match suspension but as he comes back, Scott Paterson misses out following his sending off at Broadwood last Saturday. Goran Stanic and Darren Sheridan have both now shrugged off the infections they have been carrying and captain Kevin James (pictured) is available if required although a scan is going to be required to get to the bottom of his troublesome achilles injury.

Stranraer have shown that they will be nobody’s whipping boys this season and in former St Johnstone player Michael Moore they have a striker capable of making a nuisance of himself and grabbing a goal.

I like them still fellas. Mensing, Sheridan and big james at the back. Think i was reading about them being a better team with big James in defence. Think they'll be up for it as Coyle mentions.

Daz wary of Forfar threat

ALAN FAIRLEY

RAITH ROVERS may have sailed through their last five league games without defeat but, according to manager Gordon Dalziel, such successful sequences can bring about their own problems.

Dalziel is urging his players to be wary when Forfar Athletic, under new manager Ray Farningham, visit Stark's Park tomorrow.

He said: "Because we're on a wee run, everyone is expecting us to go out and win tomorrow but I don't want anyone to kid themselves - this will be a very hard game.

"The Forfar players will get a lift from having a new manager and we'll have to be at our very best to keep the run going."

Dalziel looks like being without Paul Hilland, Neil Jablonski and Mark Crilly. However, midfielders Derek Ferguson and David Bagan are both back in contention.

reading this about Queen of the South's tactics last Saturday. Seems bleak for them

Quote:
A BIZARRE psychological ploy to dispirit visiting players to Palmerston Park backfired on Saturday, as Hamilton Accies came away with all three points in a 2-1 victory against Queen of the South.

The Dumfries club brought in a sports psychologist last week, and an idea was hatched to put up pictures of broken windows on the walls of the opposition dressing room in a bid to instil negatives vibes among the away players.

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

I was looking for news on Vareille yesterday as he is a major player for Ayr. Seems he's back and they may be in with a shout:

Quote:
AYR’S casualty ward is finally showing signs of improvement ahead of the trip to bottom dogs Stirling.

Jerome Vareille has recovered from his knee ligament injury while Andy Reid is also fully fit after his calf strain.

There’s also good news for Martyn Campbell and Mark Casey who are both rated as having a ‘fair chance’ of making the game at Forthbank.

Only Barry McLaughlin remains a serious doubt after his knee knock at Raith but John Maisano (virus) will definitely miss out.

And Robert Connor has called on his side to come through their sticky patch now that the walking wounded are back on board.

He said: “We always knew this time would come because you don’t go through every week of the season winning and now it’s time for the lads to show what they’re made of.

“We’ve had a good response from them in training but doing it on the pitch is what matters and we’ll be looking for a positive reaction at Stirling.

“But I’m quite confident that we can go up there and get a result and hopefully we start to get that wee rub of the green which has perhaps deserted us in recent weeks.”

However, the boss has warned against the threat that winless Albion will pose as they aim to get their first three points of the season.

He said: “They could be capable of anything with a record like that. We don’t know what they might do in terms of changing formation or tactics to try and find that extra spark, so it’ll be a tough game for us.

“Stirling aren’t a bad side and I think it’s a case of when you get off to a bad start like they have, it’s difficult to get out of it.

“But they probably just need one win and then they’ll start stringing them together, so we just have to make sure it’s not against us.”

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Martyn Campbel back will help too mick but im too set in my ways over them. I really do think theyve been under the cosh last 2 or 3 games and couldnt bring myself to back them.

Ross County have a couple of trialists in the squad for tomorrow. Ones a speedy Nigrian and the other is a 20yr old Ukranian u21 internationalist. Before we get too excited the Ukrainian was knocked back by Carlise at the weekend and they aint certain to lay. QOS have an ok record at Ross County but Ross could have Lauchlan, McSwegan, Winters all back in contention after figuring in a bounce game miweek. They wont be fit will they?

My bet on this would be the under 2.5 goals with 10bet. Lemme go get the 10bet bets on offer for us all to have a look at.

They have a bit Komp. Morton did very well against them from what I was reading and I was having thoughts of Morton/Morton tomorrow @ evs with Bet365. I noticed Hills only went 1.83 or so for the HT/FT too.

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Check out their reports v Raith and Partick too Mick. They seemed to be right up against it in them. At least for 90mins v Raith and one half v Partick. I prob wont even be on Morton this week Mick truth be told. Grecan will be missing and im scared that Peterhead will try to shut up shop like Forfar did. Nah i cant see that happening either. I'd be wary still of the ht/ft mind mick as how many times this season have we been hanging on for Morton. Nah truth be told i got my fingers burnt a bit on them ht/ft v stirling that time but thats a dif thing. away, midweek and in the cup. At home their solid aint they.

reckon i'll just be on my East Fife and St Johnstone. Queens Pk and Albion i could consider. Must be some bbc team news in.

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

actually i quite like the spirit in albion last week v Berwick. Let me have a look at their away record this season to cheer me up.

Nah i wont

3 games. One win at Montrose.. Fine. One 2-2 at elgin (ok performance could have won it), and a defeat at Hampden (fair play maybe they were a bit shell shocked going from junior grounds to the national stadium) Aye theyve got far too much for East Stirling and i'll be taking them odds on so the 11/8 in totalbet would have me creaming. Free £25 bet too

Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Choo choo!

Stranraer v St Johnstone

Decent start to the season all things considered from Stranraer, 5 points clear of Brechin and 6 clear of QOS. The away win to Brechin last week went a long way to giving Stranraer some breathing space of relegation for the time being, but they might just have to build a little more consistency if they want to be assured of Division 1 football next season. Good home win on the first day v Airdrie, although it has to be said Airdrie were quite poor early doors, and since then Stranraer have posted losses to Clyde and Hamilton and a dull goalless draw with QOS who were unfortunate not to take the honours.

St Johnstone have threatened to pick up of late, but they too will have to get a little more consistency if they are to challenge this season. Home draws with Ross County and Dundee wont cut the mustard, but the win away to Clyde last week gives reasons for optimism. And with Scotland, Milne and Dobbie up front they should have too much for Stranraer tomorrow.

On the injury front - Aitken, Jenkins, Swift, McPhee and McLean all look likely to miss out for the home side, while Stanic, James, Mensing, Henry and Sheridan return for the Saints.

Good enough for me.

2pts St Johnstone @ 2.00 with Stan James
