Re: SPL Weekend 30th/31st July

Sounds good crowie...the Hearts price might even be cut as the week goes on, so it could be worth a punt early rather than late this week.

Killie are one team who won't be approaching the season with the same appetite as the bulk of the others. Just about all their players have had to take wage cuts, Boyd doesn't want to be there, season ticket sales aren't progressing too well - I think they realise this will be a long hard season, with no prospect of new, big name signings.

Hearts on the other hand might just be at the start of a new era, and with Robinson gone this week I doubt the fans will have been in a better mood in a long time.

A situation to monitor tomorrow.

PS Dundee's appeal was thrown out the evening, so they do indeed drop to the 1st Division

Re: SPL Weekend 30th/31st July

I was just on to mention Heart's great record down at Killie over the past 5 years. The info im reading on this thread is making me think Hearts could be an excellent bet. I'll go see if the h2h's back up my claims

2004/2005
Scottish FA Cup Kilmarnock 1-3 Hearts 16-02-2005
Scottish Premier Hearts 3-0 Kilmarnock 12-02-2005
Scottish FA Cup Hearts 2-2 Kilmarnock 05-02-2005
Scottish Premier Kilmarnock 1-1 Hearts 13-11-2004
Scottish League Cup Hearts 2-1 Kilmarnock 22-09-2004
Scottish Premier Hearts 3-0 Kilmarnock 21-08-2004 2003/2004
Scottish Premier Kilmarnock 1-1 Hearts 07-03-2004
Scottish Premier Hearts 2-1 Kilmarnock 13-12-2003
Scottish Premier Kilmarnock 0-2 Hearts 13-09-2003

Well they aint been beaten at killie the past 2 seasons

Re: SPL Weekend 30th/31st July

Thats the odds up...for the love of god tell me if I've made a mistake

Aye, its shaping up as a cracking bet IMO Komp. There's not much to like about Killie this season, whereas Hearts will have competition for places everywhere, fresh faces, and a real belief they can achieve something. The only question that needs answered is over whether they have gelled...pre season friendly reports might help there.

Re: SPL Weekend 30th/31st July

Aye 13/8 with Skybet Beanie. I gotta say that i would probably be on most Hearts sides going down to Rugby Pk. To see theirs one with Burley who ive a lot of respect for as a manager and the team news etc i would expect us not to have too many probs collecting.

Im just remembering now i think. That Killie v Hearts game in the cup, the last one was on Sky if i remember rightly and i caught it a place i was at. Hearts could have had 4 in the first half from what i remember.

Aye im liking Hearts. 6/4 with Tote and Vic Chandler is as close as i'll get though.

What? Just mentioning Tote and Vic Chandler as they have some free bets on

Re: SPL Weekend 30th/31st July

Liking the look of Dundee Utd at that price, not meaning to spoil Mr Chips prediction.
Was at the games over the weekend and the win over Dundee was the most impressive display I've seen in a long time from a Utd side pre season.
Chisolm seems to have them playing a lot better as a unit and they look a lot more solid defensively.
Goals which where a problem last season look like being resolved as new signing Lee Miller and Jim McIntyre look threatning and show plenty movement up front and they look to have a potent threat from Stevie Crawford who is playing in midfield and is allowed to get forward at every opportunity.
I know the potential of United has been spoke about every season and has been proven unfounded but I certainly think that this could be a good one for the arabs with at least a top six finish a priority.
I for one will be taking them to overcome Aberdeen at Tannadice having seen how Chisolm has finally got the squad gelled together.

Re: SPL Weekend 30th/31st July

Hearts for me too chaps. The only one to interest me really. There's enough quality in their side to see off most of the rest in the SPL and obviously Mr Burley will be looking to keep up with the Old Firm for as long as possible so a winning start is essential. Bloody hell - beteurope and betandwin have them @ 2.80 - I'm liking this one alot actually.

Hearts are also looking at Michael Lamey, right back (I believe) from Holland. Been flitting about PSV, AZ and Utrecht in the last 3 or 4 seasons.

Sky reports a fee has been agreed crowie, so that one looks good.

Looking at a keeper from Sparta as well, and they still have Sebastian Schemmel there on trial.

Re: SPL Weekend 30th/31st July

Liking Hearts also for all the reasons listed so far.

I know i have ranted on about Aberdeen and i still think they will finish third but im with MIKEROBB and i like United to win.

I feel this game has come one week too early for Aberdeen as they have many players coming back from and they are going to be lacking fitness.

United have been pretty impressive in pre season so far and the addition of Miller is going to be a great signing for them.

Anyone have any stats from the past few seasons? Looking to see how Aberdeen have performed at Tannadice over the seasons?

Re: SPL Weekend 30th/31st July

Bit touch and go isn't it.

Maybe taking the draw would be the best bet as these two will probably cancel each other out. The draw was my original thoughts - maybe best to give it a couple extra days to see if anyone else is brought up.

Out of interest Beanie - where did you get them stats from? Whats the site as i could do with a site that holds different league stats from last couple of seasons.

Betandwin.com statistics page is also excellent for this sort of thing Kiko. Go to the main betting site and then down the left there is the Statistics option. Opens up in another window and has some good stuff - H2H's and last 10 games played for both sides.
