Re: English Premier - 05/06

Those group bets sort of sum up the EPL and betting on it to me.

I look at them all and I find it very hard to pick a winner out of any of those groups. My thinking always comes back to "anyone of them could beat the other on their day" both in the group betting and in normal fixtures. Some of the groups you could probably chuck in an extra couple of teams and I would still struggle to split them.

For example are Spurs better than Newcastle. Are Newcastle better than Villa. Are Villa better than Everton. Are Everton better than Bolton. Are Bolton better than Man City. Are Man City better than Charlton. Are Charlton better than Birmingham. And so on.

You could probably chuck those 8 teams together in any combination of 12X and I would struggle to get the right outcome.

I don't like the EPL for betting

Re: English Premier - 05/06

I agree but I've had some success with the "match betting" (you know the one team to finish above the other) in the past.

Looking at the prices though I'm surprised to see the 11/4 on Everton grouped with Tottenham and Newcastle. I'd love to hear WAS view but this seems a price based on the reputations of Tottenham and the toon. I know the common perception seems to be that Everton had a "lucky" season and will struggle with the added demands of the CL. However, 11/4 seems a bit loose. i have big doubts whether Souness is the man to manage a team as big as Newcastle and for me they're still a team in transition.

Regarding Tottenham I was listening to a Talk Sport phone-in discussing the merits of last season and even their own fans seemed a bit divided. Whilst they've steadily improved again I have reservations on their manager and whether they could threaten the top 6. As Everton finished 4th last year and were consistent throught the season 11/4 IMO is a good price.

Very good, in fact if you think about it for a second, you can back all 3 teams in that group and make a profit Over at Stan James' website, you'll find Middlesbrough in the group as well at 3/1
