Re: English Premiership 03--04th Feb

Liverpool must be seen as firm favourites on current form, especially @ Anfield and still in there with a shout for the title.
Evertons Form has dipped of late and i don't think anything can be taken from the win away to Wigan as they are probbaly the poorest team in the premiership at present.

Only downside is that its a local Derby and Everton have a bit of a habit of nicking a point from Anfield in recent yrs, allthough this time round i expect Liverpool to win quite easily.

Wouldent touch Man City with a bargepole and have a sneaky feeling Reading will nick this or at least be good for a point.
Januarys come and gone and how City never brought in a striker to fill a huge hole up front beggars belief, Vassel at present looks the only forward capable of scoring and that in itself speaks volumes of Citys strikeforce.

City have plugged the other hole at right back in bringing in Michael Ball (not the singer which is surprising for City) but as he's not played at this level for as long while I should imagine he'll get a short run out and not have much impact.

Reading are proving a tough nut to crack and will be more than a match for City as the reverse fixture proved and taking them on the half ball could be the way to go.

Ball was a left back when he played for Everton, he a right back now? We got a pretty penny for him back in the day about 6m it was, he nearly went to Man Utd too back then.

He was also at Rangers - wasn't he ?

I'm going to have a slice of Everton on Saturday - they won well last time and Liverpool will be out for revenge big style but the price is the main thing as I don't see there being that big a gulf between the 2 teams. I'm assuming Arteta and co are still ok to play....

Is it just a bad week or does no-one post on the EPL anymore? Shocking that at 10 past 4 on a friday afternoon all we have is the thoughts of 3 people. You all ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Sorry i'm just being honest.

I was thinking the same thing when my post on home advantage has 30 views before a reply

Regardless, I like Villa to beat West Ham with Carew and Young playing very well against Newcastle, Neil is out with an ankle injury for west ham. I got 2.0 for Villa but would probably take 1.8. Blackburn at home to Sheffild Utd? They played well away to Chelsea despite losing 3-0. 1.775 for them. And Portsmouth :0 at Wigan @1.99, Wigan still have a few injuries and look a mess.

I also like Liverpool -1, Watford-Bolton <2.5 and Wigan-Portsmouth >2.5, and Fulham :0 vs Newcastle who have been weakened significantly with the return of Titus Bramble.

Liverpool v Everton

Liverpool at home these days are becoming one of the biggest certainties in the league beating all standards of team and with relative ease also.

Big derby here and anything can happen but Liverpool will be looking to get some revenge for their defeat at Goodison earlier in the season.

Liverpool with no new injury concerns wth Sissoko still missing but they have learned to get by without him.

Same with Everton with only fitness doubts over Hibbert and Johnson with both expected to be available.

Liverpools undefeated at home this season. Played 12, won 10 and drawn 2 keeping a clean sheet in their last 7 games.

Their strikers are in some hot form just now with Crouch and Kuyt regularly scoring again and Bellamy causing all sorts of mayhem in opponents third.

Everton are a real inconsistent side and i cant see them causing too many problems at Anfield. Their strength imo is their midfield and they are going to have a battle on their hands against Gerrard, Alonso etc.

Think the Asian handicap bets worthwhile as i do expect Liverpool to win. If its by only 1 goal its money back at worst.

Liverpool -1 Asian @ 1.95 Betfair (6/10)

Re: English Premiership 03--04th Feb

Few others games worth betting on imo...

Blackburn v Sheffield United

I really dont rate Sheffield United at all. They have some great battling qualities but their standard of play is very poor and i will continue to back against them on the road.

Blackburn, for all their poor results recently, have been playing rather well just now and have a great mix of youth and experience and quality within their side now.

The biggest difference in the game for me is the attacking threat Blackburn has over United which is too big a difference. McCartney, Derbyshire, Pedersen, Bentley....Players capable of scoring from midfield as well as upfront.

Sheff Utd dont have the same sort of services to call upon which is why i think they will lose.

DaviD Dunn looks sets to make his debut for the club he used to play for. Good player with bags of potential and he will be another threat going forward.

Price on the home looks good to me.

Blackburn to win @ 1.86 (6/10)

Re: English Premiership 03--04th Feb

Watford v Bolton

Watford are doing something they werent doing before and thats picking up results.

Game after game it seemed Watford would play well, battle well but fall to some dodgy refereeing decision. Seemed to take them ages to get over this but now they have they are starting to piece together some results.

Great win over Blackburn last week followed by a good away cup win. Confidence will be high even after the 4-0 loss to Man Utd as Old Trafford isnt a place you go to expecting points from anyways.

Boltons form at the minute is fading away. Looked to be a real threat for 4th place but the lack in squad depth is hurting them now.

Winless in 4 games now and looking like battling for UEFA cup spot again. Has to be disheartening for the club doing so well but being so far away from their goals.

They will come into this game expecting a win and rightly so due to being the better team but i dont think it will go all the way they will imagine with Watford having some shocks instore for them.

Watford +0,0.5 Asian @ 2.02 (4/10)

Re: English Premiership 03--04th Feb

Soz muse i meant leftback, we have more than adequate cover at right back.

Not so sure about the Watford game Kiko as Bolton are a class above them and need to start getting results again, they are renknown for having slight hiccups during a season but usually soon get the ball rolling again after a few dodgey results which they have had lately.

Saying that Anelka and Davies will be missing which will be a big blow for Bolton and I'm not so sure Diouf could lead the line on his own.
A bit to close to call for my liking and one personally will be giving a miss.

Re: English Premiership 03--04th Feb

Same too with the Blackburn game, Savage has been a kingpin for them and the last time he was out Blackburn went on a mini slump, Dunn's return does not impress me either as he's done sweet fa since he left and i cannot see him picking up from where he left off straight away. Sounds like i'm having a go here kiko at your picks , but i'm not and just giving my thoughts.

Blackburn should roll over the Blades with ease as they still possess cracking players like Tugay, Pederson and Derbyshire who are on fire @ the moment but until i see them fare without Savage, its another that i'll let pass me by.

Not a problem, you can just come in and say how wrong you were tomorow at 4.45 Nah, im still ill so my judgement may be a bit dodgy just now. You will probably be against me here also.

Think Boro @ 4.33 are worth a bash at home. They hve been doing reasonably well recently and ALWAYS raise their game at home against the big sides. They have beaten Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal in their most recent home games against them and they will cause Arsenal problems.

Worth a few quid anyways as i would be kicking myselfif they rolled the Gunners over.

Re: English Premiership 03--04th Feb

2.35 CHARTON to keep draw against CHELSEA at the first half seemed fair to me...Chelseas 3-0 Blackburn win may be a moral boost for them but ı don2t think they ended their whole probs, and seems Charlton defence learnt to keep it tight, tough ı read BOlton was a bit unlucky last week when drawing 1-1...ı dont have balls enough to say they can get something at the end but draw at the first half might be possible..
but not sure how they will perform against on of Premiers top teams like Chelsea, DO You think they have fatigue and talent enough not to receive any goal in the first 45 minutes, guys ?

More than a chance Nihil.

Just looking at the stats there and Chelsea have been drawing at half time 10 times so far in the league this season.

Im sure that ODM mentioned betting on the draw/Chelsea ft has served him well so far his season.

They are quite a patient side Chelsea which works in your benefit and with Charlton defending for their lives its a decent bet no doubt.
