Re: Scottish Cup: 3/4th Feb

Oh i like the look of Partick. Infact i really like the look of Partick. I like them in cups and i like them away from home. Roberts should be worth 2 goals and the Partick defence wont be gifting Deveronvale goals like Elgin or even Montrose.

St Johnstone are doing ok in cups this season and that 9/2 could be a bit big. Im sure Hibs have already beaten Gretna 6-0 this season. Dundee utd at ICT looks interesting. QOS i could be interested in also. Looks like a good day for football and possibly betting too to me.

Hibs have played a lot of games and another midweek cup game to contend with otherwise i would strongly fancy them.

Re: Scottish Cup: 3/4th Feb

Qucik thoughts:

Partick at 4/7 is a bit big and i priced that at 1/3. Dunfermline vs Hearts and i think hearts will win this but not interested at that price. Falkirk vs St Johnstone mmm not that interested to be honest, Hibs at 8/13 is a big price for me although again it depends if Brown and Thomson stay. Inverness vs Dundee Utd looks a tough game which i'm not really interested in. Mortherwell vs Morton and this could be a tough game for Motherwell but im not interested. Queen of the South to me should beat Cowdenbeath but i'm not that confident on it even though there home form is good. Celtic will beat Livingston and not make the mistake of Clyde.

Wouldn't be a backer of Partick at ANY price shorter of 11/10 never mind odds-on.Anyone backing that price needs their heads read!

Re: Scottish Cup: 3/4th Feb

The standout bet is Hibs at 8/13 (bet365) to beat Gretna. Hibs have a great record of putting away lower league sides with goals to spare and whether Brown and Thomson are playing or not, they have far too much pace for Gretna. Must be memories of Gretna's run to the cup final last season that is having a bearing on the odds.

I'd have Hibs a lot shorter than that.

Away with you Trainbairn. Campbell's men will be up for the job in hand and i think they'll be 3 up by half time. 2.38 ht/ft does me and i think i'll be having a big bet on it. Ive been mulling it over as ive been cleaning my house and it just feels better and better. Montrose were 2 up at ht and missed a penalty before lucky old deveronvale scored 3 in the last 5 minutes. An Elgin side missing nelson went up there and gifted them their first 3 goals and still nearly got back into it. To me there is too much experience in the Partick side and as i say they like the cup and they like playing away from home. I'll even take Partick minus 3 if i get the chance. -1 @ 2.75 at bet365 I'll have some of that too.

Hibs 6-0 Gretna 20th Sept

Very quick thoughts - Vale v Partick I'll look for the over 2.5 at anything over 1/2 - HL teams score(and concede) for fun and Partick should head north looking for the win, so this one should sail over.

Not interested in Dunfermline game at the mo - St J looked good v Hibs but that will have been a tiring one for the Saints - likewise for Hibs so I'd like to see how both sides are shaping up injury wise.

DU look too big - Motherwell will get billed as the big chance of an upset(that might be them winning to be fair!) esp with haviing lost Foran. Not interested at the minute.

QOS are playing well but their priority is the league at the mo and I wouldn't bet against them taking their eye off the ball in this one. Could easily back Cowden at a big price.

Oh and Livi to stuff Celtic...3-0 atleast

Re: Scottish Cup: 3/4th Feb

Right time to get serious. Looks like me and Trainbairn don't see Partick thistle's chances the same way at all. Well hats what its all about. Let me first convince myself on Partick and then i'll try and convince you all to if im convinced. I honestly think Partick will win this with a couple of goals to spare Trainbairn. Thats just my feeling so lets have a look at it. Beanie's right on the over 2.5 too i would say. I can see it finshing 3 or 4 one to Partick with at least 2 from Roberts.

Lets look back at Particks last games. 4-3 at QOS after being 4 down. QOS have improved and havent been beaten at home by anyone barr Gretna since Partick beat them 2-0 there in Oct. I know Partick have had terrible injuries over the new year so i better go try read up a bit on how the fans think theyre looking.

Looks like Partick will be taking about a 1000 fans up for the game. That will help. I think Deveronvale are gonna run out of luck. Montrose were cruising and then self destructed, Elgin self destructed and then almost snatched a replay. I think Partick will have too much as a team for them. Ive never heard of this fella. Resigned on wednesday night for Partick-

Quote:
It has taken a lot of negotiation but on a deadline day swoop which is sure to prove very popular with the fans, Alan Archibald is coming back to Firhill on a deal which will run to the summer of 2009.

‘Archie’ was a very popular player in his first spell with the Club before moving on to Dundee United where he has been a key member of their squad, however it had become clear in recent months that he might become available and Dick Campbell admitted that he has been keen to tie up this deal for a while:
http://ptfc.co.uk/pressbox/news.asp?id=907

Bah he's cup-tied. Still maybe his presence will be a good think

I'll need team news but i'm already on Partick tw and ht/ft i have to admit. If i can get an over 2.5 goals bet i'll have that too i think. You'd be as well just sending me your money by post Trainbairn

Seeing as Betfair have some doubles and trebles available for the cup and im missing my 'non single betting' like hell....actually i backed St Johnston a bit the other night after the hibs game. I'll check what price i got but they have to be value. Like Beanie says though they could be tired. Pro footballers should be able to play 2 games in 4 days though. I used to play 2 a day when i was fit. Gretna i fancy to get a draw. Nah i don't. I think St Johnstone and Falkirk are more closely matched than Hibs and Gretna. Dundee Utd i like and possibly QOS who should have too much for Cowdenbeath who have lost 4 of their best players and their talisman manager. QOS will have Tosh playing for them too. I just took Queen of South -0.5&-1.0 as ive never betted that before . I like the look of that bet. Not just for this game but for other games. v nice. Truth be told i actually think QOS could just win it by 1 but still that gived me ...ah i lose half my stake. That never worked out too well. I get nearly even money if they win by at least 2 goals. A bet for me to look out for infuture methinks.

bah i cant get odds on Partick with that bet. Looks an ideal candidate to me.

Also all the doubles and trebles seem to include hearts, hibs or falkirk

Re: Scottish Cup: 3/4th Feb

only 2 in scotland for me and i cannot agree further with Komp. Partick Thistle for me is a MUST.

Othee is Falkirk against St Johnstone. They looked very tired towards the game against Hibs and to be fair they should because they gave it 110%. Falkirk haven't really done much since thingamijig went down south and now that Gow has signed for Rangers I don't know if that will be a good thing or a bad thing but I could be tempted with Falkirk.

So Trainbrain instead of disagreeing with Komp !!!! - what's your thoughts on Falkirk's chances

please please please ???

Re: Scottish Cup: 3/4th Feb

maybe we're understimating Deveronvale's chances Kegman as the Bairn knows his stuff. Nah to me theyve been lucky and their gonna get their comeuppance. I aint looking at it no more as im already on the Partick win and the ht/ft at evens already. Nothing and no-on can talk me out of it.

I also like the look of QOS possiby tomorow-

Quote:
Queen of South v Cowdenbeath

Newly-signed midfielder Stevie Tosh and striker Andrew Barrowman are included in the Queen of the South squad.
However, Stevie Murray is cup-tied and misses out along with suspended Paul Burns, while midfielder Warren Moon is doubtful due to a groin strain.

Cowdenbeath's David Orr is still injured while Graham Guy and Tony Bryan are short of match fitness.

Danny Lennon, Martyn Fotheringham and Iain Ramsay, who has a throat infection, all face late fitness tests.

Maybe it was a joke, but you would win half of your stake if Queens win by one tomorrow. With a -1 1/4 line you would loose half of your stakes if the team wins by just one goal.

Re: Scottish Cup: 3/4th Feb

I wasnt joking about anything DJ im just an asian noob Surely winning half your stake is the same as losing half your stake? Nah its a whole stake of a differance isnt it? Im sure betfair said odds 1.96 -1 (ie win by 2) i get the 1.96 Dj and if ...nah your right. Even if QOS win by one ive still got half my stake and my stake back. I think It's paying 6/4 not 1/2. Bah im really confused now. Im struggling with a sore belly. Its horrible. I want to die
