Re: Coca-Cola League One 26-28th Jan

Got to fancy Huddersfield against my team here. We were abysmal at the weekend against a really poor Brighton. We look really out of sorts and the fans are beginning to turn on the team. However we seem to up our game against Huddersfield (may be because of both Hudson and Brandon called Huddersfield a bigger club when they switched teams in the past).
They have lost Pawel Abbott but do have Luke Beckett and Andy (one knee) Booth, upfront whilst we are poor in the air at the back. One good thing is Huddersfield are not playing too well at the minute and we will take a lot of fans so there should be a good atmosphere at the game.

When team news is revealed I will give a better description of the ideas I have on the game. 1.83 looks really good value.

Scunny are a must at 1.83 against an abysmal Millwall, ok they have injuries and have lost Keogh to Wolves, but they performed admirably at Donny last weekend and should follow it up with a win here. Another one for team news.

Donny perhaps with Scunny and Huddersfield in a home win treble, only thing putting me off is that its a local derby. Otherwise I would have a large bet on them to beat another really poor team in Rotherham.

Finally I like Brentford, do not ask why.

Scunny have won 1 of their last 4 games while Millwall have won 3 of their last 4. The 'abysmal' tag is probably not appropriate for Millwall anymore but despite the loss of Keogh, Scunny should still have enough - but the price reflects that Millwall have somewhat turned the corner.

Re: Coca-Cola League One 26-28th Jan

I was talking more about how poorly they played last time out, losing 3-0 at troubled Northampton, that is an abysmal result. I somewhat agree that they have improved, but they have only beaten a poor Brighton, a relative poor Gillingham and a really dismal Rotherham (no offence intended to any of the teams, Chesterfield are as poor as Gillingham and Brighton). Darren Byfield wants to move up north, and they are playing Zebroski out of position.

I think the bookies have got this one wrong.

If only I had my money in betfair, may have to transfer some for that value. Still 1.83 on B365.

Milwall will miss their topscorer:

from Scunny official

Quote:
Striker Darren Byfield will not feature in this Saturday's clash with the Iron after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the 4-0 win over Rotherham at the weekend.
Byfield, who has scored 10 goals this season, will serve his one match suspension on Saturday.
Meanwhile Alan Dunne faces a three-match ban following his dismissal at Northampton Town on Tuesday night.
Dunne was shown a straight red card following an off-the-ball incident with Bradley Johnson a couple of minutes from time.

Re: Coca-Cola League One 26-28th Jan

Gillingham's home form isn't too bad though, Neo (welcome to TDP by the way ). We've lost the last 2, but they were to strong sides in Oldham and Doncaster. Having said that, Tranmere are also a decent side, but still, it was only about a month ago that we went and won 3-2 up at their place.

But (and this is a very big "but"), our top player by an absolute mile, Matt Jarvis, is doubtful for tonight due to injury. It'll be a huge loss if he's out, as he's behind just about everything we produce in attack, without him we're pretty toothless. We're also without Cox (suspended), while Sancho, Pouton and Bentley are all doubtful with injury.

Also a low turnout expected tonight, quite a few season ticket holders on the Gillingham Rivals forum have said they can't be arsed going on a Friday night to watch the crap we've been producing of late, especially when they can see it on Sky. The one thing that worries me slightly though is that Gillingham have a habit of producing results when you least expect it.

I certainly wouldn't try to put you off backing Tranmere though, and if Jarvis is out then the 3.4 with Sporting Odds for Gillingham not to score also looks a decent bet

Right, even more money onto Huddersfield. Wigan have bid around half a million for our leading striker, Caleb Folan. If he goes, which he surely will, we will be very weak upfront, I cannot see us scoring without him this weekend.

Re: Coca-Cola League One 26-28th Jan

Jarvis is fit after all and will start for Gillingham. Sancho and Bentley also passed fit. Will leave this one alone for now, see how the game starts, might take something in-running depending on how it's going.

Lineups:

Gillingham: Larrieu, Jackman, Flynn, Sancho, Chorley, Johnson, Crofts, Bentley, Mulligan, Savage, Jarvis.
Subs - Jupp, Easton, McDonald, Ndumbu-Nsungu, Collin.
Tranmere Rovers: Hart, Stockdale, Sherriff, Goodison, McCready, Shuker, Mullin, McLaren, Taylor, Greenacre, Davies.
Subs - Ward, Harrison, Ellison, Tremarco, Zola.

Very hard round, fancy only Doncaster and Scunthorpe at home, and maybe Port Vale away.

FT Swindon T. 2 - 0 Macclesfield T.
FT Walsall 1 - 1 Boston U.

How did we all get on?

I'll be looking at Oldham today for sure. Here's hoping Northampton are still as bad at home and oldham ok on the road. I better read up the thread and read this too-

Quote:
Northampton v Oldham
Ian Taylor should return to the Northampton line-up for Sunday's home clash with Oldham, but the Cobblers will be without top-scorer Scott McGleish, who moved to Wycombe on Friday.

Veteran midfielder Taylor missed the resounding 3-0 victory over Millwall on Tuesday through illness, but he is fit again and should figure as Town hunt a third successive home win.

Youngsters Marc Laird and Jordan Robertson could be in line for their debuts after joining on loan from Manchester City and Sheffield United respectively, while midfielder Joe Burnell is fit following a calf niggle.

Full-back Fred Murray remains Stuart Gray's only injury absentee as he continues his lengthy rehabilitation from an Achilles problem.

Oldham will be without midfielder Gary McDonald because of a one-match suspension, with Craig Rocastle expected to step in.

Manager John Sheridan has no new injury or other suspension problems.

Skipper Will Haining is expected to prove his fitness in time to resume his partnership with Sean Gregan at the heart of defence.

Haining sustained a neck injury in last week's 3-0 defeat to promotion rivals Bristol City and was replaced by Stefan Stam early in the second half, but with Haining available again Dutchman Stam will revert back to the substitutes' bench.

Leading goalscorer Chris Porter will partner Paul Warne up front as Oldham look to bounce back from that defeat to City.

I'll be looking into Oldham myself once I've finished looking at the Spanish stuff, Komp. By the way, you've posted the League Two results here by mistake.
