Not sure about that edinlichtie, Albion Rovers have won the last 5 on the trot and overtaken Arbroath plus your home form is pretty gash. You have had some scrapes with Albion Rovers. I would normally like that price but not 100% sure about it. Is Sellers back yet - he is key player is he???

Re: The Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 27th Jan

Aye, Albion have been in great form recently. All our scraps with them this season (4 so far!!) have churned out 18 goals, and Arbroath having a 2-1-1 record. Remember we have 3 games in hand over them in the league.

Our last game against them (Nov 25th), we totally dominated if i recall, and was a pretty easy victory, them scoring a (albeit wonderstrike) consolation in the last minute in our 3-1 win.

In their last 5 games they've had good results against Stenny and QP, and also beaten the bottom 3 in the league. Nice form - but games against elgin and montrose are gimme's

We've only played 45 mins football since the 2nd on Jan, will this be good coz we are fully rested, or bad for lack of competitive matches..?

We've brought in 2 new players, defensive mid Doyle, and striker Savage (both from Albion i think). Both have decent reports from opposition fans. Also emigrate Dobbins is back which is always a good thing!

Have Albion brought in or lost anyone? On quick inspection i can't see any major signings...

Sellars has been fit for the past month, as have all 1st team players - we should have a full squad on Saturday.

Our home form is a bit poor overall to be fair, but if you analyze it, you'll see we haven't lost at home since 11th Nov (freak loss to Shire ), since we have 2 wins (Stenny and Montrose) and a draw to East Fife.

I always say any odds above evens for Arbroath at home is a great price, and Saturday is no different. The odds are greatly weighted on Albions recent form and Arbroath's home form, but bear in mind we are in good home form of late, and good form against Albion.

5/4 is a price i'd definitely take, and may be even bigger when other bookies price up (expekt usually give us huge odds).

Arbroath @ 5/4 for me, pending late team news or odds increase.

Nice stuff Edin. I'll tidy that up and put it on our well subscribed () RSS feed.

Im gonna have to get started but i forgot all about east Stirling this weekend. Theyve won 3 out their last 4 away games (at East Fife, Queens Park and Arbroath) and games between them and Berwick are always tight affairs. Need to look further but i could be laying Berwick this week as im never that impressed with them at home.

Re: The Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 27th Jan

At first glance the ones that catch my eye are

Morton - motoring along nicely in Div 2 now, good result at the weekend seeing off Stirling.

Berwick on the AH - Hopefully -1.5. Again doing well of late and only Stenny have scored against them in their last 6 league games. A 2 goal victory should be doable in this game.

Actually like the idea of laying Arbroath here but some nice info from EdinLichtie there. Don't know what to make of the Broath lay off. It will either be a good or bad thing, not sure which as yet. The fact that the 4 games have produced 18 goals and Albion aways have featured 42 in 12 aways (3.5 gpg) might make me look at the overs here. In fact I would be taking it no question if it weren't for Broaths F13 A11 home record.

Re: The Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 27th Jan

Right usual quick thoughts from me:

Airdrie vs Clyde looks a tough game to predict so stay away. Livingston vs Hamilton and i can't believe Hamilton price here 9/4 why??? i'm miles out as i priced it 7/4 especially how poor Livingston are at home - its a thought. Queen of the South vs Partick and Partick are on poor form while QOS are not doing great but Home form wise if you take out Gretna Partick was the last team to beat them so thats back to October mmm 15/8 is another thought. Ross County vs Dundee looks about right and a tough game to predict. The big game of the day St Johnstone vs Grenta is another tough game so stay away i think.

Ayr vs Peterhead is another tough game for me especially since the blue toon has picked up. Brechin are too short for me against Alloa not interested in alloa either. Cowdenbeath vs Morton should be a win for morton not that interested though. Stirling vs Forfar and i fancy Stirling to get back on to winning again since they are going through a very poor patch mm 8/15 not sure. Stranraer vs Raith and 5/4 for raith is decent but i've been against Stranraer for 2 weeks now and made money they are due to get a result soon!!!

Arbroath vs Albion Rovers - mmm not sure about this but i do want to be on Arbroath plus if they win it helps my bet on them for the season each way - come on the smokieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!! Berwick vs East Stirlingshire mmm points to a home win does it but East Stirlingshire have won 3 out of the last 4 aways (amazing!!!!). Elgin vs Dumbarton mmm points to away win but new manager due a result, Nelson back mmm 7/2 maybe worth an outside bet but they are conceding goals??? Montrose vs East Fife mmm 5/6 is slighty tempting but i think i might give it a miss. Stenny vs Queens Park and for me Stenny are not that great this season so i'm trying to work out why Queen Park are 11/5 thats a bit big for me maybe be on that.

Re: The Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 27th Jan

just lost my 3rd div write up coz of a shitty computer!

Quickly...

I like the big odds of Arbroath, Montrose and Stenhousemuir. Reasonable bets on those 3 - 5/4 10/3 and 6/4 respectively.

I'd give Berwick and Dumbarton a miss, should both win but odds aint good enough

Re: The Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 27th Jan

Div 1 think Livi v Hamilton , Livi had lots of possesion last week v Gretna in bad conditions false score slightly fancy them but need a touch better than 11/10 Qos v Thistle Queens have a problem creating chances but their best work is at home crap away but yoyo Thistle up against no bet. Ross v Dundee , Ross to inconsistent at the moment no bet. St Johnstone would be a possible if they were not so shaky at the back ,forced to bet over 2.5 goals.
Div 2 Ayr miss two players Stevenson mom in a few games recently and Dunn Vareille returns think , but i fancy Pete a bit after last weeks 5 0 ,i think they might be improving manager says they have been playing well since the turn of the year. Ayr only won 3 at home. Brechin v Alloa poor pitch Alloa capable of beating bigger sides 7/2ish bit big on a crap pitch. Cowden v Morton leaving this as i dont wont to back Morton at the moment ante post reasons Cowden i think are missing the two playmakers Patal and Gomis no bet. Stirling v Forfar Stirling missfiring a touch but had the loss of Sheilds plus Cramb sus did not help , was at the 3 0 game last time they met , think Gribbon out for Forfar 2 shots on target last week v Cowden and scored both think that was a bit false hw. Starting to like Raith a bit and they have signed a striker from Rangers who changed the game for them last week , Moore might be back for Stranraer but they were shocking last week and might have the kick up the arse mode on also bit disapointed with Raith price.
Div 3 Arbroath v Albion ante post again ew Arbroath good price for this scared to back them though think ive backed them 3 or 4 times let down each time they did beat Albion in Nov think and deserved to win that day , hope i am not tempted Sat. Berwick hw 1/4 . Elgin v Dumbarton leave alone Sons good at the rock but aint that convincing aw odds on no bet Montrose v E Fife odds on Fife cant have that. Stenny v Queens tricky big price on Queens but i would wait for team news read something about Weatherson poss injury also McCuloch signed from jags prob start for Stenny he will do a turn , saw him last year strong and has a rocket shot, tem news important before bet

Re: The Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 27th Jan

Im having a quiet week in Scotland this week. Im gonna wait for team news etc to come through. Nothing much to enthuse me still.

I remember McCulloch winning games single handedly for Partick last season Danq must notably v Alloa about Christmas. He will have a positive effect on stenhousemuir. I tend to agree with you all on Peterhead at Ayr. Maybe Paterson has them playing. Ayr at home are vurnerable this season and Peterhead will give them a fight.

Actually just reading Danq and Milners's posts i think they seem to be in agreement with me that there isnt that much if anything to get excited by

Berwick 1-5 Crowie. Mmmm i think you'll need something special from your big pal Haynes. I see East Stirling giving them a tight one and im still considering laying Berwick. East Stirling seem to be a good footballing passing side and i think they might give Berwick a few probs

Re: The Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 27th Jan

-1.5 i meant there obviously Crowie. I note that theyve got Diak from Syenhousemuir as back up to Haynes and Woods. I suppose the script is written for him to come on and score against his old side. Likewise Savage at Arbroath who folks are mocking. He seemed to do ok as a trialist for Albion Rovers and is bound to score. Has QOS's Thompson signed for stenhousemuir?

Albion Rovers will mis Ciaran Donnelly in defence i hear and there's talk of chaplin possibly signing for someone before tomorrow's game. that would be a big blow to albion Rovers. I could yet be interested in East Fife to bounce back and get back into the hunt v a montrose side who must have lost at least 13 of their last 14 games. East fife werent too bad till Berwick scored twice in quick succession.

Raith fans seem to be raving about new striker young Carcary's performance last week. I don't know if i could back them but i might be tempted. I havent even began to look at prices really yet. ICT sorry Peterhead im still interested in. Team news nearer the time could be important.

Brechin and Alloa have injury probs. Gardyne back for Ross, looks a tough game. Airdrie have lost that foeign player that was playing well for them on loan and are missing a few defenders due to injury and suspension. Clkyde will miss malone. Nah i just can't get involved in the first division this week. All the games look stinkers to me.

Re: The Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 27th Jan

i liked savage when i saw him bit unfit but but looked class , think he was with e fife v queens but good on the ball and if fit would be useful to any 3rd div side. Like what stenny are up to in the window could be dark horses on run in.

Re: The Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 27th Jan

Possibly Danq. Queen's Park have played them off the pitch in two games this season from memory though and it's putting me off them tomorrow. I was reading on pie and bovril Richard snodgrass coulkd play as a trialist for ayr tomorrow. Is that the fella frrom st Johnstone? I believe he's pretty tasty in front of goal if so.

Blackadders return for East fife makes me still interested in them. Lemme go see prices on betfair which is all ill be able to get on seeing as ive still got the £100 i started with since i went 'prop' (minus some Czech ice hockey money )

I just took the draw in all the Div one games in singles at about 5/2 Bah i was hoping to get 2/1 on Peterhead. Look into that in the morning. Ive taken a wee bit of Raith at 2.22 as their away form is good and they seem to be finally going somewhere. Stranraer at home aint too bad (well theyve had a few results) Moore is back but Crilly is missing. Should be a good game.

ouch East fife 1.77 I was hoping for nearer even money. I laid Berwick at 1.32 and also backed East Stirling at 9.6 Go on the shire

1.69 for the over 2.50 in the Elgin game, not bad odds at all. also took 1.58 in the overs in the Arbroath game which is not to great but

I'll wait till nearer kick off to hear soem more team news. Peterhead and Raith could be my main two. Not gonna go daft

Re: The Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 27th Jan

D1 - It'll be Airdrie for sure. This game sees the league's biggest under achievers against leagues biggest over achievers. Wouldn't be surprised to see Airdrie reel them in and definitely a must win for them. Clyde have recently lost their captain Mchale to Dundee, with some speculation over Malone also. Miller described last week as their worst performance this season.

Also Hamilton. Managed to get 5/2 on Hamilton at BF earlier in the week which seems a bit wild. Singling out players for criticism as Robbo did last week never looks good, petty about Mole arriving - we'll see.

Also a wee go on QOS.

D2 - Lay on Stirling Albion - loons on the charge!

D3 - It'll be Arbroath and Queens Park who are both a tad big for me and a wee bit for East Fife.
