Re: Scottish Premier League 27-28th Jan

Dundee utd vs Dunfermline and altough i fancy United to win this i can't trust there defence so nope not taking the 8/11.

Falkirk vs Killie and again i fancy Falkirk but Killie just won and maybe get a result - stay way!!!

Hibs should beat Motherwell and 4/6 is an ok price but need to think about that.

Rangers vs Hearts and i'm not taking either here as both are capable of beating each other.

St Mirre vs Aberdeen is a nasty game to predict altough 2/1 for St Mirren isn't a bad price.

Inverness vs Celtic and Celtic due a slip up but not that interested to be honest.

Re: Scottish Premier League 27-28th Jan

First thoughts before looking into it more closely tomorrow night:

I want to back Dunfermline one of these days as they will go on a little run at some point - even Livingston did it when they were in even bigger trouble than the Pars a couple of seasons back. However, 3 goals in all away games is just unforgivable - makes the United price look ok but I'll stay away.

I like the Killie price - they're the kind of up and down team this match was made for and have won the last 4 v Falkirk.

Hibs I'm not sure of - price looks just about right to me at 1.65 with Motherwell winning 3 of their last 4 aways.

Rangers should beat Hearts this weekend, and with their defence looking a little more solid I could take that price.

Could lay Celtic too but not sure yet.

Also got a little overs/unders system going here, just on trial at the mo:

Tough fixtures and I may be tempted with Aberdeen to beat the Saints (sorry old one) but apart from that not much else - as mentioned Rangers defense probably looks stronger but price too short

Re: Scottish Premier League 27-28th Jan

From bbc sport:
---------------------------
Falkirk v Kilmarnock

Falkirk defender Darren Barr is free to play after successfully appealing the red card he was shown last weekend.
Stephen O'Donnell is back after missing the last three games with an ankle injury, but Kenny Milne is suspended.

Kilmarnock striker Gary Wales returns from suspension but Grant Murray, Momo Sylla and Allan Johnston are doubts.

David Lilley, David Fernandez, Paul Di Giacomo, Danny Invincibile and Ryan O'Leary all miss the CIS Insurance Cup semi-final dress rehearsal.
----------------------------------
If both teams were at full strenght I could squeeze some value out of Falkirk -0.25 @1.98. How important are the missing Kilmarnock players? If there absense makes a significant difference I'll bet on Falkirk.

Re: Scottish Premier League 27-28th Jan

Alan Johnston and Danny Invincible are the important ones Mahatma(Fernandez was but he's been out for a few months) - if they both miss out it could harm Killie. However, Killie have shown a good knack for dealing with injuries in the past. Somehow their distinctly average squad keeps stepping up to the plate and performing far better than their ability should allow them to

Re: Scottish Premier League 27-28th Jan

Rangers v Hearts

Last 8 games: Ran - 5-2-1 WWWDLWDW ::: Hea - 5-1-2 WLWDWWLW

Last 5 Homes/Aways: 3-2-0 (F 13,A 2) ::: 3-0-2 (F 9, A 6)

Last 6 h2h: H 0-1 R, R 2-0 H, R 2-0 H, H 1-1 R, R 1-0 H, H 1-0 R

Team news :http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...em/6300641.stm

Rangers with a good run of form in the last 8 games and unbeaten in the last 5 at home, whilst scoring 5 in the last game against Dundee Utd gives them a healthy for/ag. ratio. Ehiogu and Weir look set to try and continue the good defence at home, conceding only 2 goals in the last 5.

Hearts also in good form over the last 8, whilst seemingly only able to win or lose away from home. They do however have a decent scoring record on the road and could cause problems for a new Rangers defensive pairing. Craig Gordon is expected back in the team, which will also be a welcome boost.

The good form of both teams suggests goals in this game, however, the h2h stats show that all 6 games have been Unders, and personally speaking, Hearts don't appear to come at Rangers as much as they should at Ibrox, hence previous tight games. The stats in bold also makes a wager on the 1-0 and 2-0 scorelines for Rangers look healthy, with both around 7.00s.

Prediction: Tight game but with a Rangers win
Bets: Under 2.5 @ 1.91
Consider: 1-0, 2-0 Rangers looking at recent games. Both 7.00s

Hibs v Motherwell

Last 8 games: Hib - 3-1-4 LWDWLWLL ::: M'well - 4-1-3 LDWWLLWW

Last 5 Homes/Aways: 3-2-0 (F 11,A 4) ::: 1-1-3 (F 8, A 13)

Last 6 h2h: M 1-6 H, H 3-1 M, M 2-2 H, H 2-1 M, M 1-3 H, M 2-2 H

Team news :http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...em/6300635.stm

Hibs with a so-so record over the last 8, but still a formidable force at home with a 3-2-0 record in the last 5 and a very good goals record, with nearly 3 scored for every 1 conceded. A good run of results for Hibs over Well sees them 4-2-0 at both stadia and 2-0-0 at Easter Road.

Motherwell go the opposite way with decent looking last 8 form, but a 1-1-3 record on the road. Scoring more than a goal a game away is a a v.good record but they undo their good work by having a woeful time trying to keep them out at the other end.

Always guaranteed goals in the Hibs-M'well games, with all 6 games pretty much crashing through the 2.5 goals barrier, so Overs @ 1.82 may be a good bet. Hibs to continue their good home results looks most likey as well.

Predictions: Hibs win @ 1.66, by a couple of goals probably.
Bets: Overs @ 1.82
Consider: -----

St Mirren v Aberdeen

Last 8 games: StM - 1-4-3 LLDWLDDD ::: Aber - 3-2-3 DDLWLWWL

Last 5 Homes/Aways: 1-3-1 (F 5,A 6) ::: 3-1-1 (F 9, A 5)

Last 6 h2h: A 1-0 St, St 1-1 A

Team news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...em/6300643.stm

St Mirren still looking to improve their win column stats and the 2 h2h games show why they are currently 1-3-1 at home, not making it easy for teams to visit yet not being able to score the goals they need to beat the opposition, hence the 5/6 for/ag. at Love Street.

Aberdeen now starting to score more goals away from home these days, whereas before the for/ag. would be something akin to 4/4, so definitely a good chance of getting 3 points tomorrow. With Russell Anderson back it will also increase their chances of the win.

Prediction: Aberdeen win @ 2.50. St Mirren may sneak a draw if Aberdeen get complacent.
Bets: Aberdeen win as above.
Consider: Unders @ 1.80

Falkirk v Killie

Last 8 games: Fal - 4-0-4 LWWWLLWL ::: Kil - 2-2-4 WLLDLLWD

Last 5 Homes/Aways: 4-1-0 (F 8,A 3) ::: 1-2-2 (F 3, A 5)

Last 6 h2h: K 2-1 F, F 1-2 K, K 2-1 F, F 1-2 K, K 1-1 F, K 1-0 F

Team news :http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...em/6300633.stm

Pretty up and down form for Falkirk, but over the piece, seemingly reliable at home with a 4-1-0 and 8/3 for/ag. record. Darren Barr free to play in the game after his shocking red card from last game being rescinded.

Kilmarnock going through a little rough patch in terms of form, especially in the away goal scoring department, but they have beaten Falkirk 2-1 twice in the last 2 games in Falkirk and will be looking to continue that form. Suffering from a few injuries, but the additions of Sylla and Quinn should strengthen them.

Hard one to pick. Falkirk with good home form, Killie with average away form, but have left with the 3 points on the previous 2 visits to Falkirk. Falkirk should win on recent form, but it definitely seems to close to be overly confident.

Predictions: If pushed, I'd say draw, but definitely could go all 3 ways
Bets: NO BET
Consider: Last 4 games all Overs, maybe look at Overs @ 1.80+. Kilmarnock AH +0.5 @ 1.96 looks good value.

Dundee Utd v Dunfermline

Last 8 games: Dun U - 3-1-4 LLLWDLWW ::: Dunf - 0-2-6 LLLLLDDL

Last 5 Homes/Aways: 3-0-2 (F 8,A 8) ::: 0-1-4 (F 1, A 6)

Last 6 h2h: Df 2-1 Du, Du 0-0 Df, Du 0-1 Df, Df 1-1 Du, Du 2-1 Df, Df 2-1 Du

Team news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...em/6300631.stm

Average last 8 form but United still maintaining their decent home form. Dunfermline have caused them problems in the last few games, with Utd being 1-1-1 in the last 3 league games at Tannadice, and not forgetting the last gasp goal in the cup game for Utd. Influential midfielder Robson is suspended for the game tomorrow.

Dunfermline starting to slowly get some of their 10+ injured players back to the team and look to start improving on the above stats. Burchill (F) coming back in may help to up the away scoring record from its pitiful 1/6 for/ag.

Another pretty tough game considering recent close games between the 2, including in the cup. Robson being out is definitely a factor against United and after a good showing against Rangers last week, Dunfermline may cause them more problems than expected.

Prediction: If pushed, I'd say a draw with Robson out and Dunfermline getting players back.
Bets: NO BET
Consider: Dunf. +0.5/+1 @ 1.90 could be decent value if they play as well as in the Scottish Cup game earlier in the month.

ICT v Celtic (Sunday)

Last 8 games: ICT - 3-2-3 WDWLWDLL ::: Cel - 5-3-0 WWWDDWDW

Last 5 Homes/Aways: 3-0-2 (F 10,A 7) ::: 4-1-0 (F 11, A 3)

Last 6 h2h: C 3-0 I, I 1-1 C, C 2-1, I 1-1 C, C 2-1 I, I 0-2 C

Team news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...em/6300645.stm

ICT with average last 8 form but coming off of a wonderful 3-0 home victory over Hibs last weekend, which will surely give them confidence going into Sundays game. Able to score 2 goals per game at home just now, but a goals against of more than a goal a game will worry them ahead of the Champions visit.

Celtic undefeated in at least the last 8 games, and a great record on the road, should see them win this game, but it wont be easy for them, with 4 of the last 6 games between the teams ending with a 1 goal deficit.

Celtic should win on Sunday, providing they are willing to battle hard for it. Interestingly, the last 2 games at ICT have ended in a 1-1 draw, so it should never be discounted that Inverness could sneak something from this game.

Predictions: Celtic win @ 1.44.
Bets: NO BET (as yet)
Consider: ICT AH +1 @ 2.00, based on 4/6 ending in 1 goal deficit.

Yeah, agree with you on Hibs. Like the look of the Overs cos Hibs always seem to score and concede to Motherwell. Going to have a look about and see if there is slightly better than 1.82.

Extremely interested in the 1-0, 2-0 Rangers bets, but will probably leave that for when I'm at the game tomorrow.

AH on Killie at +0.5 is tempting as long as they can battle hard and continue the good form against Falkirk. Think Sylla and Quinn should make sure Latapy and the Falkirk midfield don't have it their own way.

Re: Scottish Premier League 27-28th Jan

It'll be Killie this week. Jeffries does a great job of getting this team to produce results in the face of adversity. After a point from 5 games they ground out a good win last week and I wouldn't be surprised to see somethin similar again. Despite the tough talk, I think the loss of Stokes and the speculation over Gow may start to creep up on Falkirk and Killie's price seems pretty good.

Yup, was already my main bet of the day. Hope Walter can keep the recovery going.

Smaller punts on Killie and Hibs too.

Inverness CT v Celtic
Inverness will be without Craig Dargo for Sunday's home match against Celtic with Graham Bayne set to replace him up front.
Dargo dislocated his shoulder in last weekend's 3-0 win over Hibernian and could be out for six weeks.

Celtic skipper Neil Lennon returns after a two-match ban.

New signing Jean-Joel Perrier-Doumbe, 28, who moved to Parkhead on-loan from Rennes for the rest of the season, could make his debut.

Inverness Caley squad: Fraser, Tokely, Dods, McBain, Hastings, Munro, Rankin, Morgan, Duncan, Wyness, McAllister, Bayne, McSwegan, McCaffrey, Wilson, Paatelainen, Sutherland, Soane, Black.

Celtic squad: Boruc, Telfer, Pressley, O'Dea, Naylor, Nakamura, Gravesen, Jarosik, Sno, McGeady, Riordan, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Beattie, Miller, Brown, Zurawski, Lennon, Perrier-Doumbe.

Re: Scottish Premier League 27-28th Jan

mmm just a quick comment on st mirren - they really are not a good team. First half Aberdeen could and maybe should have scored 3 or 4 and then the 2nd half we decided to sit back and have keep our lead although St Mirren had a good patch and a few chances in the first 10 mins of the 2nd half and a nice 10 minutes spell near the end of the game. Those on unders was very lucky to be honest
