Question about Gretna's Promotion

Cheers folks,

I know that in Scotland in the past happend that team that won the liga wasnt promoted to Premier liga due to Stadium standards. Does Gretna have the Stadium that fits premier standards, and what is happening than? Noone is relegated or St.Johnston(for example) get promoted?

Re: Question about Gretna's Promotion

In past seasons clubs that have won the first division havent had the correct ground criteria which has meant no one going up and the team bottom of the SPL being very lucky and getting to stay in the league for another season.

I've only read and i couldve misinterpreted but im sure Gretna are extending their ground and whether it meets the requirements i dont know but if worst i think they will be ground sharing with an SPL club, thats provided that win the league of course

Re: Question about Gretna's Promotion

Yeah from what I know, Gretna will be trying to get their ground up to the required specifics (6000 seats and safety certificate etc). Think that they will be ground-sharing with Motherwell for the first 6 months of the next season while some of the work goes on, but I havent heard anything about it for a little while now.

I have heard rumours that they were going to blow promotion as they don't fancy playing at Fir Park next season. St Johnstone for the First division, anyone?

Re: Question about Gretna's Promotion

Cheers Dave,

Thats were my thoughts. I got feeling that Gretna aint that keen on promotion and I thought that in taht case St.Johnston as second has chance. This way they have to sweat a bit if the yare keen on premiership
