Re: English Premiership 20-21st Jan

The line is set at 2 goals at a lot of bookmakers. Over 2 doesn't look a bad shot when you consider no JT, no Makalele, No Sissoko. Both sides need a win here and it should be an open game. But, games between these two sides are seldom entertaining - so definitely a low stakes option, even at 2 goals!

Re: English Premiership 20-21st Jan

from teamtalk matey:
Calum Davenport is set to start for West Ham in Saturday's Premiership match away to Newcastle

The new arrival from Spurs, who spent a spell on loan at Upton Park in 2004, is likely to partner Anton Ferdinand in the centre of defence after the Hammers lost both Danny Gabbidon and James Collins to injury.

Boss Alan Curbishley is also without striker Carlos Tevez (calf) and Bobby Zamora (suspended) for the trip.

West Ham (from): Green, Carroll, Dailly, Spector, Davenport, Konchesky, Mears, Benayoun, Quashie, Reo-Coker, Mullins, Mascherano, Etherington, Noble, Boa Morte, Sheringham, Harewood, Cole.

Was interested in portsmouth before reading BBC's stats

The Addicks have won two of their three Premiership visits to Fratton Park. They did the 'double' over Portsmouth last season, coming from behind in both games to win 2-1.

Re: English Premiership 20-21st Jan

I'm personally avoiding Portsmouth, but it should be pointed out that Charltons wins at Fratton Park were early in the season - which is when they would usually be in the ascendancy under curbishley. Different circumstances here. I'm a bit concerned about Pompey without Kranjcar and O'Neil - so I don't like the -1 AH, and I don't really think 1.5 is a price worth chasing here. Pompey have been wasteful of late. Still think they should win though.

Re: English Premiership 20-21st Jan

I have only one game on my paper for today.

Newcastle to win odds 2.00 @ Paddy Power

Newcastle lost 5:1 against Birmingham in the cup around during the week.

I think that the players will be very aggressiv and motivated after the kickoff and this could be a good reason for taking Newcastle today. As additional West Ham has not won any away game this season, yet.Newcastle´s skipper Scott Parker will be back in the squad and right defener Carr.

West Ham will miss Tevez and Zamora.Tevez has not played any good match this season, but Zamora is a regular Forward and West Ham will miss him.

So i take this 2.00,because of the the bad away record, the motivated Team, the comeback of Scott Parker and the audience who will be the 12 man today.

Have a nice day

As for the cup games, I only edited them out as cup style is alwaysdifferent to league games imo - also the hammering to Arsenal, yes Arsenal played 2nd string but Liverpool didnt play their best team either so dont really count that.

And being defeated 2-0 and 1-0 at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge is by no means anythng to be ashamed of either.
Agree !!! though I am a Manu 's fan I am on Liverpool today. Cup match and League are different. Cup match could be sacrify but not League !!! So it all depends on the Manager which competition is more important. I think Liverpool main piority is the Champions League and EPL ( to at least get a top 4 place ) yes the FA Cup is important and I can't deny they want it but lose it ... but as for the Carling Cup I think Liverpool did not really wanted it so much like what we have thought. Anyway from what I've seen today * according to my views of odds I think Liverpool has a little bit of something over Chelsae today IMO. Chelsae is having big problem in defence, midfield and forward. Only one recongnize striker ! and defence is like shit with a mid fielded playing in central defence.... hard time for Essen ! If Liverpool could throw in some high accurate high balls to Cough or Kurt then I think Chelsea will have problems.... this is a hard game to predict but I will go for small bets on Liverpool DNB 0.90 today.

Re: English Premiership 20-21st Jan

No time, so very short

Liverpool v Chelsea - top match, hard to predict, but I wouldn't be suprised if Liverpool win this one

Aston Villa v Watford - two teams out of form, I think Villa win, but odds are joke

Fulham v Tottenham - a hard one, fancy Spurs and over, but no bet

Middlesbrough v Bolton - I see under here, but no bet

Newcastle v West Ham - great odds on visitors, but Hammers are out of form, no bet

Portsmouth v Charlton - I don't see any other result as home win

Reading v Sheff Utd - not easy one, but fancy Reading to grab all 3 points

Man City v Blackburn - City without Barton, I'll try visitors here

Wigan v Everton - must take a look closer, fancy Everton here

Arsenal v Man Utd - top match, still no idea, but at the first look price on United looks nice

Re: English Premiership 20-21st Jan

I'am going on Portsmouth too.

Charlton is shit. They will play without Andy Reid, Luke Young ( captain )... that is too much, with bad form, worst away record .....

No need to explaine.

Re: English Premiership 20-21st Jan

Evening game preview from Sky..

Manchester City v Blackburn Rovers
City are unbeaten in six matches in all competitions, with three wins over the festive period helping Stuart Pearce's side climb into the top ten.

The top half is also Rovers manager Mark Hughes's objective after an encouraging run of four straight wins, albeit sandwiched by less savoury results against Arsenal, lifted the club clear of relegation trouble.

David Dunn completed his Rovers return on Wednesday but must wait to don his club's colours. Hughes is likely to err on the side of caution for a player who did not feature for Birmingham since October of last year.

However Hughes will make two changes to his midfield. David Bentley returns from suspension and will take his place on the right side of Rovers' four.

Aaron Mokoena serves a one-match ban after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal last Saturday and that will mean a recall for the more refined talents of Tugay.

Fit-again Shabani Nonda and Andy Todd are pushing for recalls too, with Matt Derbyshire and Stephane Henchoz's places most under threat.

City boss Pearce must again do without Joey Barton through suspension - the influential midfielder picked up his fifth booking of the season in last Saturday's 0-0 draw at Bolton and serves a one-match ban.

Micah Richards could therefore be pressed into midfield duty.

Hatem Trabelsi and Nedum Onuoha are both struggling with hamstring injuries, but Sun Jihai (another hamstring) and Dietmar Hamann (back) could come into contention after making their comeback from injury in the reserves in midweek.

Recent form in this fixture has gone the way of the visitors - City have won just once in 11 matches against Rovers, although each of the last five encounters in Manchester have ended in draws.

Skysports.com Prediction: 1-2
Rovers to leapfrog City with win. Player to watch: Benni McCarthy

Match Facts & Stats taken from Blackburns own site

The last five meetings at Man City have all ended in draws.

Rovers have only ever beaten City away once back in 1993, which was also the only time that the blue and white halves have completed a double over the blue half of Manchester.

There is a regular occurrence of own goals scored in this fixture. Two were scored in the fixture earlier in the season and an additional three have been scored in Premiership fixtures between the sides.

Rovers have conjured up seven away goals in their last two outings.

Ref Watch:

Phil Dowd is the match official for the game. He has produced two red cards this season, both at Ewood Park in the game between Rovers and Tottenham.
Match Prediction:

This game will return to the traditional Rovers v Man City games of old by ending up all square. Rovers` key to goals will come from set-pieces and City will look to exploit Rovers` lack of pace at the back. With City opening the scoring they will press for a second and in doing so will get caught out by a late equaliser. 1-1

Re: English Premiership 20-21st Jan

Teams:

City: Weaver, Richards, Dunne (c), Distin, Jordan, Trabelsi, Sinclair, Dabo, Ireland, Corradi, Vassell

unused subs: Isaksson, Samaras, Johnson, Beasley, Miller

Rovers: Friedel, Ooijer, Henchoz, Khizanishvili, McEveley, Bentley, Savage, Tugay, Pedersen, Nonda, McCarthy

unused subs: Enckelman, Emerton, Gallagher, Peter, Derbyshire

City make one, enforced, change to the starting line up from Tuesday night, with Hatem Trabelsi replacing the suspended Joey Barton. With the Blues changing formation during games of late, we will wait and see if Sinclair plays on the left of midfield in a 4-4-2 or in the middle of a 3-5-2.
At least Richards looks to be covering as right back instead of being pushed in the centre of midfield that should make the defence a lot stronger.

I'd hazard a guess @ 0-0 or 1-1

Re: English Premiership 20-21st Jan

Hi guys ..... manage to get a 2 win on Liverpool and Villa . As for tonight I am on everton today AH 0. I saw the match between Chelsea and WIgan last week and I just feel that Wigan was really Crap !!! Chelsea didn't play well but Wigan was worse ( giving stupid goal that shouldn't be ) With Carhill and Arteta back in the same line up I think Everton is too much for Wigan. With confident very low since the last match I think Wigan is now facing a downtrend. I personally think Wigan is one of the relegation candidcate this year. I have a feeling Everton will get their first away win these year!

Re: English Premiership 20-21st Jan

Arsenal vs ManU a big big match. Though I am a MAN U fans I am not too confident with ManU today as I remember how Arsenal had beaten us. To be fair Arsenal is one of the best team that playing fluent football from the start. Man U is not bad but compare to Arsenal I still like the way they play Better. ManU is flying at the moment but Arsenal is coming back to their best.... so it's a 50% 50% game. It can go either way. IFrom my heart I want ManU to win but my head tells me to bet on Arsenal so .... I might just watch the game . I think with the quality from both side this game might end in a high scoring draw.I think both team wants to win ,at the moment ManU is scoring for fun and Arsenal counter attack is awsome... so I think this will be an very interesting match. Second thought I will stay away and cheer on my Man U ...!!! GL to all that bets on them......
