Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

Cowdenbeath actually played ok on Saturday Bromsgrove and us backers of them can count ourselves a little unfortunate poss. I was on Brechin too but i never read about their win yesterday. There's plenty of form bbetween these 2 teams (this will be the 4th game this season) One i'd have to look at but it doesnt look particuarly appetising to me 1st glance.

Dundee utd i could still like if St Mirren still have stiker problems. Didnt Utd have a load out with flu though last weekend?

QOS v Dundee looks like a score draw to me. A bit of form there too and both teams have made recent signings (wonder if theyre cup-tied?) Ayr raise their game v the better teams and they were unlucky not to beat Livi in the Challenge Cup at home. I'd want nearer evens on St J before i could get involved. The under 2.5 would be an option to me with ayr probably reverting to one up front.

Hibs i'll be liking as i still like the look of their 0-0 league game with Aberdeen at Easter road a few weeks ago.

Don't think any of the new signings are cup tied - certainly not Dundee's - but they are ineligible as only those who were signed to the club at the time of the original tie are allowed to play in the replay. In saying that Dobbie and McQuilken were both signed by Queens just before that game and both played in it. Agree it will be tight and I wouldn't back either.

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

mmmm not bad set of fixtures to be honest!!!

Brechin i fancy but not that confident on even though i won money backing Peterhead. Dundee Utd i fancied last time and again i fancy them but they are poor at the back are they. Queen of the South vs Dundee is a tough game to predict i suppose. Ayr are not that great a home although St Johnstone away form isn't great but 4/5 is tempting. Hibs vs Aberdeen and the way Aberdeen are playing it points to a home win although hibs playing tonight does no favours and also there striker out for awhile is a negative but 5/4 is a good price which i really want to be on. Also want to be on Motherwell on saturday as Aberdeen 2 games in 48 hours and the bookies price Motherwell at 8/5 - jesus i priced them at 4/5!!!!

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

just read on pie and bovril that beaths captain innes ritchie has jacked the club after a row with the manager following the 3-0 loss to peterhead, also their main striker has gone to ICT, marcus pattelinan, will this have much bearing on the replay at brechin?

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

Really like the look of BRECHIN to win at home to Cowdenbeath tonight. 1.9 seems a good price with B365

The high winds have calmed down now up here in Scotland so we should get a decent match tonight. The pitch has also been sanded but has dried out so they'll have a decent surface too to play on.

Brechin had a good 2-0 win away to Stranraer at the weekend. Cowdenbeath were gubbed at home from Peterhead, who Brechin put 4 past away.

Brechin are unbeaten in their last 4 v Cowdenbeath, who have a major loss in Paatelainen going to ICT.

Brechin are 6-1-3 at home and their only defeats in last 17 games have come to Morton(twice) and Stirling. Cowdenbeath lost 4-2 in the league here just over 2 weeks ago which was their sixth consecutive defeat in a row on the road. They did however beat Raith in the derby away

From the Dundee Courier:

O’Neill’s squad is as strong as it has been all season with only the two Walkers out alongside long-term casualty Grant Johnson.

Cowden have major problems for tonight’s replay with four players ruled out—including centre-half and captain Innes Ritchie—who yesterday asked to be released from his contract.

The club said that the 33-year-old ex-Motherwell, East Fife, Berwick and Arbroath defender had asked away due to pressure of work commitments.

Ritchie is not likely to be considered for tonight’s game and Cowden will also be without full-backs Graham Guy and Laurie Ellis, who have calf and hamstring problems, and keeper David Orr, who is still sidelined with an elbow injury.

Early team news;

Dundee United v St Mirren

Queen of the South vs Dundee
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ps/6263095.stm

Brechin v Cowdenbeath
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ps/6263073.stm

Not got a big knowledge of the lower league teams, but for Dundee Utd v St Mirren, Dundee Utd have 2 first team players back in Mair (D) and Robson (M). Robson is a particularly good player and will definitely be a bonus to have him back in the team IMO.

Lappin and Kean are back for St Mirren which will help their attacking options greatly, but being without all of Hugh Murray, Craig Molloy, Iain Anderson, Alex Burke, Brian McGinty and Billy Mehmet will work against them.

Already taken Dundee Utd whose home form (albeit in the lg) is 3-0-2 and a for/ag. of 8/8, compared to St Mirrens away form of 0-2-3 and 4/10.

Last two games between the two teams saw United win 1-0 at home and 3-1 away before that. Better home form and less injuries makes me think United could take this game and go into the next round.

Dundee United 4pts @ 1.90, for me.

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

I srill can't get enthused about anything really this midweek folks truth be told. Ive been on Brechin a few times of late but ...i dunno. Maybe i just want to go against the grain but i still have doubts about them tonight. Let me read the reports-

Cowdenbeath 1-1- Brechin
http://www.brechincity.com/bcfc/serv...121&category=2

Brechin 4-2 Cowdenbeath
http://www.brechincity.com/bcfc/serv...119&category=2

The game wasn’t as one-sided as you may think however, as Cowdenbeath squandered a number of very good chances at the other end which they really should have converted.

Cowdenbeath 1-3 Brechin
http://www.brechincity.com/bcfc/serv...=99&category=2

I think i would still be wanting evens on Brechin truth be told. Goals? The 1.80 on the over2.5 is very nice on betfair so i just grabbed a wad of it. Maybe familiarity could cancell out the goals and Markus P was always worth a goal. Nah sod it im chancing the over 2.5 . Looks like my only bet of the night.

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

I have to admit that in light of things i don't even fancy my over 2.5 bet now. The price is definetly about right with Cowdenebath's top Striker going and the familiarity factor. who know As i said i really don't fancy anything for tonight. Sorry if i gave confidence to anyone on the over 2.5. Suppose we can only wait and see.

Hibs could still be the one im waiting for. Does anyone have any early potential team news for that one poss?

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

Komp, Re Hibs v Aberdeen

Aberdeen will be without Byrne, Diamond, Smith and Brewster all of whom are first team players.

Hibs finished the game v killie quite strongly, with Bouzelin, Sproule, Whittaker all coming on for the final 45. They will prob start on Thu. Be interesting to see if Thomson and or Brown play - would make them cup tied!

Fancy a draw in this one....

  • Was just thinking there, the best type of "fuck off " is the following; You`re playing astro, 5 a side, someone shouts "handball" and the "fuck off" response is fucking class.
