Just glancing at the moment, but Yeovil(+0.5) @ 2.00 could be a nice offer. Yes they're playing Nottingham Forest but Yeovil have only lost 2 of their 12 away matches this season.

Mmm I can't agree with the pick daikoku but since you mentioned it, I've had a look at their recent away games and they've certainly netted a few times on their travels which makes the "over 2.5 goals" look interesting, especially as it's over evens.

I'll be on Forest and the overs. Thanks.

Nah ODM, it's not a pick yet. I'm browsing stats at the mo and firing up some thoughts. Definitely an argument for value but I'll be waiting on team news.

I'm waiting for the team news, but by top match between leader
and vice-leader, Oldham away at 3.00 looks very interesting.

Re: Coca-Cola League One: 13th Jan

Port Vale could loose their topscorer Leon Constantine:

Quote:
Port Vale striker Leon Constantine would be willing to listen to any offers from a Championship side with a view to taking him away from Vale Park the player has revealed.

Vale would like him to stay and any club interested would have to be looking at paying at least £250,000 for his services.

Wolves are one club who have been linked with making a January bid for the striker who has found the net 18 times for Vale so far this season.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror Constantine said: "As far as I know no clubs have made any bids for me yet, but I have a relationship with the club and they would tell me.

"But if any clubs from the Championship do come in for me, I would definitely be interested in what they had to say."

Quote:
Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt has told the Sentinel newspaper that two Championship clubs have shown interest in striker Leon Constantine.

Bratt told the newspaper: "We have had phone calls, but that is the extent of the interest at present. We haven't talked money with them."

Speculation on other Internet message boards has linked Wolves, Southend and Barnsley with the 18-goal striker.

If Constantine does move on, it is likely that Vale will seek to sign Crewe striker Luke Rodgers as his replacement.

I know, it's only one of the transfer roumors, but anyway Blackpool is on
my shortlist now.

cheers bosman. Im looking at the Scunthorpe v Oldham game too but in the over 2.5 goals market. Both these teams can score goals and the 2.08 on it at betfair looks a fair price to me. I might go grab a bit of it the now.

Looks like all i am interested in in this league this week. Port Vale are a funny old team bosman and i can't back agains them but good luck if you go for blackpool.

Re: Coca-Cola League One: 13th Jan

cheers komp, Port Vale lost their topscorer

from BBC:
Barnsley have agreed terms to sign striker Leon Constantine from League One side Port Vale.

The deal will also see Tykes front man Marc Richards moving to Vale Park in part exchange.

Constantine has scored 18 goals this season and Barnsley hope he will repeat that form at Oakwell as they battle relegation from the Championship.

The two players are discussing personal terms and will then undergo medicals before the deal is completed.
In theory he can play against Blackpool I guess, but no one would risk injury
in such situation.
I don't like playing against Port Vale, but this time I'll try.

Teams who have performed well in the cup invariably suffer the following week. Whatsmore because of the noterity the cup exploits have given them they are usually underpriced as well. With that in mind two bets from League 1 for me tomorrow.

Lay Notts Forest @1.97
Lay Swansea @2.70

The forest price in particualr is way out of line with their current league form and that of the opposition and would not put anybody off the 4.5 that is available for Yeovil.

Re: Coca-Cola League One: 13th Jan

ONly game I'm interested in is the Blackpool v Port Vale but I was more interested in the home v away form because Blackpool are undeafeated in their last 11 league games at home and only decent form of late Port Vale have was a 0-0 draw at home to leaders Scunthorpe and a 2-1 win away to Tranmere. Their other wins have been against teams from the bottom half of the table and have lost when they play anybody in the top.

h2h's favour the home team with 7 out of 11 finishing in a home win..............10 games without a draw mind you

I don't know the players but if Bosman mentioning Vale have solt their best player then I'm really tempted

Re: Coca-Cola League One: 13th Jan

Very difficult round. Shortly :

Blackpool v Port Vale - fancy Blackpool here. Port Vale probably without topscorer Leon Constantine and striker Nathan Lowndes (but not so important).

Bradford v Swansea - a tough one, Swansea has many missings, including Leo Trundle ( 12 goals so far ). Normally I would say over 2.5, but now no bet.

Brentford v Leyton Orient - no idea !

Brighton v Millwall - no idea !

Bristol City v Tranmere - fancy Bristol here. Typical home team, unbeaten in last 13 home games.

Crewe v Bournemouth - Crewe should win, but I have a bad feeling about this one...

Gillingham v Doncaster - I like price on Gills, but can I trust them ?

Huddersfield v Cheltenham - Terries should win, I don't expect a suprise here

Northampton v Carlisle - no idea !

Nottm Forest v Yeovil - I like Yeovil here ( good away form), don't know if I take away win or the safest option DNB

Rotherham v Chesterfield - no idea !

Scunthorpe v Oldham - top match between leader and the second team in Leage One.
I'll try to back Oldham here, They are in form, and the odds are just to big to miss.

Tricky one this, Bosman. On our day we're capable of beating anyone in this division (as are most teams, it's such an open/poor league this season), and on that basis I guess 2.5 for the home side isn't a bad price. We got thrashed by Oldham in our last home game, but apparently Oldham are by far the best team to have visited Priestfield this season (and we've now played all of the top 3).

However, we're also capable of playing complete and utter shite. Which Gills team is going to turn up is anybody's guess.

This from the Port Vale official site preview:

Quote:
Vale will be hoping to have some of their key players back in contention. Star striker Leon Constantine may prove fit enough to start following three games out with a bruised knee, sparking speculation that he is on his way out of ValePark.

Going by that, it doesn't even seem certain that he's leaving, never mind missing tomorrow

Re: Coca-Cola League One: 13th Jan

From Soccernet:
Quote:
Bristol City's postponed game against Brighton in midweek has given captain Louis Carey extra time to recover from his ankle injury and he could return against Tranmere.

Carey missed the FA Cup clash against his former club Coventry after failing a late fitness test but could return to contention against promotion rivals Rovers.

If Carey fails to make it Richard Keogh and Jamie McCombe are favourites to continue at the heart of defence.

City boss Gary Johnson has several other players with ``minor knocks'' but insists there are no serious problems.

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore is likely to have John Achterberg on the bench for the trip to Ashton Gatew.

The experienced back-up has been struggling with an ankle injury but came through 90 minutes for the reserves in midweek.

Manchester City loanee Joe Hart is set to continue in goal but midfielder John Mullin and defender Robbie Stockdale both miss out.

The duo serve one-match suspensions for the clash at Ashton Gate, with Danny Harrison set to come into the midfield.

The Rovers boss will make a late decision on which left-sider - either Shane Sheriff or Carl Tremarco - will switch positions to cover Stockdale at right-back.

Moore has no other fresh problems, with youngster Olly James (foot) still out of action.
So Tranmere with their first choice keeper out, and set to play a left-sided player at right back. They're in pretty decent form though, I guess, just 1 defeat in 10 (to the Gills ), and are unbeaten in their last 5 aways (4 draws and one win), including draws at Forest and Scunthorpe. Bristol City's home record very good though, 10-2-1, I reckon they can nick this one.

Is TheHandicapMan around with any thoughts on this one?
