Re: Coca-Cola League Championship: 12/13th Jan

From BBC

Quote:
West Brom v Luton
West Brom striker Nathan Ellington is unlikely to play after handing in a written transfer request.
Paul McShane is suspended, but Martin Albrechtsen could be fit to take his place after a recent groin strain.

Dean Kiely is likely to return in goal for Luton after missing the FA Cup tie under the terms of his loan deal.

Midfielder David Bell is available after serving a suspension, while Kevin Foley and Lewis Emanuel are both expected to have recovered from injury.

Are any of those important players?

Birmingham's game maybe called off due to the weather affecting the new pitch being laid. According to Football365 they may receive a points penalty.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship: 12/13th Jan

I'm still not convinced about Derby , 1.83 against a team who have won 5 out of 6 away games , Norwich and Stoke both beaten on the road , averaging 2 goals a game in their last 15
Derby 5 goals in 7 games , lost at home to Wolves 2 games back and beat Plymouth 1 nil with a goal in the last 10 min's. I just feel that unlike say Brum v Leeds an away win would not suprise me

I agree WBA look nailed on now that Vine has left Luton . I'll be having that .

Stoke dont look so handsome given Wolves away form and anyway rule#1 is never get involved in Wolves.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship: 12/13th Jan

Derby were/are on my shortlist Keema but like you I have doubts due to Sheff Wed's recent form. Mind you, their 2-1 home defeat to Hull on New Years Day doesn't look too smart, especially when Derby were busting Prestons home record on the same day.

Derby are a team I like but they do seem to have problems scoring at home. Only 16 this season, a very low total for a team placed so highly. Only 3 teams in the league have less home goals.

Also looking at Sheff Wed away record, only 4 losses in 13, joint best in the league.

The pair of them have similar records over the last 9 or 10 games so I would expect a bit bigger price over the home side.

Think between the doubts over Derbys scoring and Wednesday being difficult to beat away from home, I will give it a miss.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship: 12/13th Jan

Not sure quite what the odds are down to now, but at levels of 1.8, the -.75 on West Brom was very appealing. Got to fancy them with the attacking talent they have, and with the record at the Hawthorns. Phillips, kamara, Hartson, Koumas, Gera all have goals in them and the likes of Greening provide a bit of creativity too. From what I gather, the new Slovenian lad can chip in with a few himself. At home, against a side with a couple of injuries and suspensions and with two of their best players sold, anything other than a comprehsnsive Albion win would come as a surprise to me. There were a few occasions when West Brom were dire in situations where you'd expect them to win comfortably, but they have looked a bit better since Mowbray took charge.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship: 12/13th Jan

Five straight wins at home doesn't lie SI. I hate that last result though , 3-1 away at Southend! What does it mean? How can they be beaten by the worse team in the division?

Vine will be missed by Luton though , 3 in 5 he had for them

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship: 12/13th Jan

Reaing the RP it classes the WBA attack at home like having the cavalier approch cause they play the 4-4-2 but it goes 4-2-4 whan Kamara and Koumas attack down the flanks so the strikers don't look a prob komp but out of last 6 home games only 3 have been over so dunno ?

I can't get away from a WBA win but it just looks too good - home form against away form. h2h's not much to go on as it was 2-2 in 1st fixture.

I'm tempted to have a slice of the home win here especailly whats already been said

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship: 12/13th Jan

West Brom v Luton - everyone on WBA, I don't like public bets lately

Barnsley v Preston - don't know what to think, Preston better team, Barnsley with many new players, no bet

Birmingham v Leeds - no idea !

Cardiff v Southend - Cardiff should win, but the price...

Colchester v Leicester - Leicester at 4.00 ? Too big, must think about it

Coventry v Crystal Palace - very, very hard to predict

Derby v Sheff Wed -Owls fantastic away, but I fancy Derby, one of the strongest bets this weekend

Hull v QPR - I can't see QPR loosing this time, odds are good, but maybe over 2.5 would be the safest option

Norwich v Plymouth - Norwich with some new good singings, but anyway no bet

Southampton v Burnley - home win, but the odds...

Stoke v Wolverhampton - Stoke for me, but I hate bets against Wolves

Sunderland v Ipswich - narrow home win, but not with this odds.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship: 12/13th Jan

Anyone know what's happening with Colchester? Their odds are drifting a fair bit, can now get evens with Bet365 for Colchester -0.5. For a team with 11 straight home wins against a team with an average away record, 11 points behind them in the table, that seems a pretty big price.
