Re: Carling Cup 9-10th Jan

I think Liverpool will want this badly as it's about their only chance of silverware (imo) so they will be trying especially after the weekend and as Samm has menyioned odds are falling (well i think thats what he meant)..........maybe too short to back now

With all respect, but it's hard to belive (for me) that team with Dudek as a goalkeeper these days will keep cleen sheet.

Dudek has not too much chances to prove it, but he is a really good goalkeeper, I think.

You are right Bosman.... if I have not remember wrongly there was a time when Man U wanted him too.... I think it's was when Peter S.M. retire....

Liverpool have fielded what looks like a week team, that's why liverpool odds are drifting, it's not as week as it looks to me though, i think there are goals from Gonzalez , Fowler or Bellamy, they will enjoy playing together. Arseanl are fielding a very young team, i think the 'pool are going to win this, gotta go watch

Re: Carling Cup 9-10th Jan

Latest from the BBC..

Wycombe v Chelsea
League Two side Wycombe welcome back Mike Williamson and Will Antwi will partner him in central defence if he can overcome a groin injury.
Sergio Torres could play as flu means Stefan Oakes is a doubt, but Anthony Grant cannot against his parent club.

Chelsea will be missing suspended duo Didier Drogba and Ricardo Carvalho.

Without a central defender in the squad manager Jose Mourinho may be forced to play Paulo Ferreira and Michael Essien in the heart of the visiting back four.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wycombe (from): Batista, Williamson, Antwi, Martin, O'Halloran, Palmer, Betsy, Oakes, Bloomfield, Doherty, Easter, Mooney, Young, Christon, Anya, Torres.

Chelsea (from): Hilario, Hedman, Ferreira, Geremi, A Cole, Bridge, Essien, Diarra, Obi, Lampard, Makelele, Ballack, Shevchenko, Wright-Phillips, Kalou, Morais. Woods.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wycombe manager Paul Lambert on Anthony Grant, who is on loan from Chelsea and has not been given permission to play by his parent club:
"I feel for him because there's no doubt about it, he has been a big part of what's happened.
"What the team has achieved in getting this far is nothing short of extraordinary.

"Chelsea are on another planet in terms of the money they can spend but we have earned the right to play them. And we will not face them with any fear."

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho:
"Of course they are a team from a lower division but they are a good team, well organised.
"Their coach Paul Lambert has a lot of experience of football at a high level and we know we have to respect them.

"We have a second leg at Stamford Bridge so if something wrong happens we have a game at home to take us to Cardiff. But if we can do it at Wycombe, we'll do it at Wycombe."
