Re: CC League Two: 6th Jan

Boston got a good win at the weekend didnt they? Im looking at taking on accrington most weeks lately. Hartlepools good run will be tested at shrewsbury and i forget how Rochdale are doing but if they are as bad as theyve been then i could look at taking a rare bet on wycombe at home.

Monday's game looks quite close.

Re: CC League Two: 6th Jan

rochdale obliged at odds of 3-1 on new years day at grimsby(two 4nil wins on the trot since new manager) wycombes league form has been very patchy snce their league cup heroics so odds of 4-1 for the dale look appealing to me.
wycombe play chelsea on weds in the 1st leg of the semi final

Re: CC League Two: 6th Jan

Tough one to call Wycombe v Rochdale. It's certainly the only game I'd be interested in in League 2 this weekend. Nice odds on the home side thanks to Rochdale's recent wins, 1.87 on the exchanges currently. Wycombe also have a decent record against Rochdale in recent times.

What concerns me slightly is that both sides are without key defenders Rochdale without Stanton should ship goals and Wycombe without both Williamson and Antwi. Palmer will step in as he did in the narrow defeat to Lincoln and he'll be join by the new chap from MK Dons who I confess to knowing nothing about. Neither sides fans seem particularly confident so I may sit this one out.

Boston beat an under strength Barnet at the weekend Komp, not sure I'd read masses into it though they're always a tough side at home and I'd favour them over on Accy side who's win against an injury hit Wrexham side was their first since mid October. I think I'd want them to be a bit longer though as their hoofball style of play will suit Accy IMO.

Re: CC League Two: 6th Jan

Boston Utd v Accrington Stanley
Boston are without skipper Paul Ellender after he incurred a one-game ban for picking up his fifth booking of the season against Lincoln.

David Galbraith and Francis Green were both restored to the starting line-up for the 2-1 win over Barnet and are expected to continue.

Tim Ryan's move to Darlington should be completed by the weekend, while Anthony Elding left for Stockport earlier in the week.

Despite the departure of two regulars, first-team coach Paul Raynor insists morale has been good in training.

He said: ``The spirit has been good this week and footballers like nothing more than winning football matches, so obviously the atmosphere is good at the moment.

``Everybody is looking forward to facing Accrington and we need another solid, passionate performance from the lads and hopefully that will bring three more points.''

Accrington manager John Coleman could hand a debut to former Nottingham Forest defender Alan Rogers.

The full-back joined Stanley this week and could go straight into the side, while Andrew Mangan and defender Phil Edwards are back from suspension.

Coleman has a number of long-term concerns, although attacker Rommy Boco is expected to return from a back problem in a couple of weeks. Skipper Peter Cavanagh (knee) is also likely to be out for a similar spell but defender Andrew Tretton (knee) has not played this season.

Defender Danny Ventre (fractured tibia) and striker Leighton McGivern (ankle) are long-term absentees.

Shrewsbury v Hartlepool
Shrewsbury manager Gary Peters has fitness doubts over a trio of players.

Striker Derek Asamoah is still struggling with the ankle injury he sustained in the 3-0 win over Hereford last month and will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness.

Kelvin Langmead missed the New Year's Day win over Stockport with a hamstring injury so Daniel Hall is expected to continue in the back four.

And fellow defender Neil Ashton is also a doubt after a knee problem kept him out of that game.

One defender who will not be returning to the Shrews' first team is Gavin Cowan, who moved to Conference side Grays this week, while striker Glynn Hurst has completed his permanent move to League Two rivals Bury.

Harlepool boss Danny Wilson is poised to hand new signing Richie Barker his debut.

Barker, 31, arrived at the club for an undisclosed fee this week and is expected to start in attack.

The Pools boss will use Barker as a direct replacement for Darryl Duffy, who has returned to Hull after a successful loan spell that brought five goals in 10 appearances.

Michael Nelson remains sidelined with a medial knee ligament injury, while Mark Tinkler (toe) is unlikely to recover in time.

Wycombe v Rochdale
Wycombe are set to be without their first-choice centre-halves Mike Williamson and Will Antwi.

Williamson misses the game through suspension after picking up five bookings this season, and defensive partner Antwi is a major injury doubt after suffering a groin strain against Hereford on Monday.

Chris Palmer replaced Antwi at half-time of that game, while Stephen O'Halloran moved inside, and with full-back Sam Stockley still struggling with a hamstring problem, manager Paul Lambert may have to call on youngsters Lewis Christon and Tom Cadmore.

Veteran striker Tommy Mooney was rested against Hereford and should come back into the starting line-up alongside top scorer Jermaine Easter.

Goalkeeper Ricardo Batista will play after signing on loan until the end of the season to end speculation he may be recalled by Fulham in the wake of Antti Niemi's injury. Midfielder Sergio Torres is still building up his fitness following a long-term knee injury.

New Rochdale manager Keith Hill will be forced into at least one change for his first game in permanent charge.

Dale, who have won their last two games 4-0, will definitely be without defender Nathan Stanton after he suffered a groin injury in the New Year's Day thrashing of Grimsby.

Physio Andy Thorpe said: ``It's not a major strain but we still believe he'll be better off resting it rather than risking any further damage. He'll be unlikely to figure.''

That could mean a recall after nine games for Mark Jackson, who is available for selection after a ligament injury in his foot.

Midfielder Darrell Clarke has returned to Hartlepool following the end of his loan spell but former Chester captain Stephen Vaughan has arrived at Spotland and should go straight into the squad.

Re: CC League Two: 6-9th Jan

MK Dons v Lincoln

I can see arguments for taking either side here and I'll probably not get involved. However, I have to admit that I might be swayed by Pinnacles offer of MK Dons(-0.5) @ 2.17.

Lincoln are the second best away side in League 2 with a record of 8W 0D 5L. Pretty good, but if you look at those lost away games, 4 of the away losses have been in the last 6 away games.

Lost 4 of the last 6 away games.

Macclesfield(23rd) 2-1 Lincoln
Peterborough(7th) 1-2 Lincoln
Chester(15th) 4-1 Lincoln
Wrexham(20th) 2-1 Lincoln
Stockport(11th) 2-0 Lincoln
Swindon(4th) 0-1 Lincoln

6F 11A - not been scoring much either.

In contrast MK Dons have won 4 of their last 6 home games.

MK Dons 0-1 Swindon(4th)
MK Dons 2-1 Rochdale(19th)
MK Dons 3-1 Wycombe(6th)
MK Dons 2-0 Stockport(11th)
MK Dons 2-0 Shrewsbury(9th)
MK Dons 1-3 Hereford(8th)

10F 6A

Both teams are pretty much full strength so nothing too exciting there.

Milton Keynes Dons v Lincoln City

Paul Butler will be missing from the MK Dons line-up when fellow League Two promotion hopefuls Lincoln visit the National Hockey Stadium.

The former Leeds defender, who last week made his loan move from Elland Road permanent, is suspended after picking up a fifth booking of the season against Swindon.

Full-back Jamie Smith and striker John Hastings are still sidelined through injury, although both have been pencilled in for a midweek run-out with the reserves as they build up their fitness.

Smith has been out since November with a knee injury and Hastings has been struggling with a thigh problem.

Lincoln will be forced into at least one change after Shane Nicholson's loan spell came to an end.

Nicholson has returned to Chesterfield while fellow loanee Mat Birley, who was an unused sub against Macclesfield last week, has gone back to Birmingham.

On-loan Nottingham Forest striker Spencer Weir-Daley will hope for a full Imps debut after his cameo role from the bench at Moss Rose.

Defender Paul Mayo could be in line for a start after recovering from the groin injury which has restricted his appearances of late

Re: CC League Two: 6-9th Jan

Lincoln 2 - 3 Mk Dons
http://www.redimps.premiumtv.co.uk/p...~33111,00.html

Mk Dons down to 10 men for the last 35 mins. Lincoln were at full strength that day too. Lincoln have let me down a few time away from home this season and as Diak say's theyve lost 4 from their last 6 aways. I might be interested in Mk Dons. 21/20 at bet365 seems a fair price. I will hold fire to the last moment though as im worried about the draw. over 2.5 at about 4/5 might be a better option for me possibly

Lincoln 22 matches are without draw...

Last year they had 21 from 46
This season so far 2 draws from 26

Re: CC League Two: 6-9th Jan

Im glad i didnt get involved. the overs looked good especially now after the event Interesting game tonight i thought. Looks tricky. Grimsby have had 3 bad results in a row but maybe their 'talisman' will help them. Looks a bit dodgy as a betting proposition

Quote:
Grimsby v Chester
Grimsby are boosted by the return of talisman Gary Jones for the visit of Chester.

Jones has been suspended for the past four games but should come straight back into the side for the Blundell Park showdown.

His return is welcome with the Mariners having drawn a blank in their last three games and four out of their last five.

But Town will have defensive problems against Chester with Nick Fenton starting a two-match ban, while Justin Whittle could again be missing with a shoulder injury.

Striker Gary Cohen remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury but former Liverpool trainee Nicky Rizzo should make his debut after joining from MK Dons on a one-month loan deal.

The 27-year-old is keen to play regular first team football after finding it difficult to force himself into the first-team reckoning at the National Hockey Stadium.

Chester manager Mark Wright has no fresh injury concerns.

Defenders Ashley Westwood and Paul Linwood (both hamstring) were both doubts ahead of the goalless draw with Ipswich at the weekend.

But Westwood completed the 90 minutes at the Deva Stadium and Linwood was an unused substitute so both should be available.

Midfielders Glenn Cronin and Rob Marsh-Evans, who have not featured this season, remain on the sidelines with foot injuries.

City are unbeaten in three matches away from home and have won the last two on their travels.

The original game was to be played on Saturday but was postponed after the Blues were handed their FA Cup reprieve.
