Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan
Dunno yet about Newcastle winning at Birmingham, but it doesn't look that good concerning the recent news:

Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan
I'm quite liking a Stoke/Derby double at the moment which comes out at 2.05 with 10bet.
Stoke are very solid at home with a 8W 3D 2L record. They no longer have the services of Lee Hendrie but still have a strong squad and talented players.
Millwall have scored 8 goals in their last 2 games and also seem to have tightened up at the back, only conceding 4 goals in the last 6. They've still got an awful away record though and I'd have thought the Stoke price would be closer to 1.40-1.44
Derby continuing to do well in the Championship and pretty strong at home 7W 3D 3L.
Wrexham are dire away from home. They have the worst away record in League 2, 1W 3D 8L. I'm pretty sure they've been having injury problems recently as well.
I'll wait for a bit more team news but I can't see me not taking the double here.

Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan
I might be interested in taking Derby(-1.5) @ 2.10. Wrexham's goals for/against stats in away games is the stuff of nightmares. Only 9 goals scored and 30 conceded in 12 games.
Only downside to this is that 13 of Derby's 15 victories this season have been by a 1 goal margin.
Definitely one to wait and see what state Wrexham are in injury wise.

Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan
Peterboro v Plymouth is catching my eye. The League 2 side have been terrible recently. Last 6 games looks like this...
1W 0D 5L
They've conceded 8 goals and only scored twice in the last 6 games.
Plymouth do have a tendency to draw too many games in the Championship. However they can score and Interwetten's 2.20 for a Plymouth victory or Pinnacle's -0.25 @1.91 is beginning to appeal.

Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan
Torquay v Southampton(-1) @ 2.00 with 10bet looks quite tasty. Torquay on a desperately poor run and rooted to the bottom of League 2. They've only scored 1 goal in the last 6 games.
Southampton have scored more away goals (25) than any other team in the Championship. They do tend to concede a few at the back, but the Saints must fancy keeping a cleansheet in this one given Torquay's impotency in attack.
I would have set the line at -1.25 or -1.5 and wouldn't be surprised if it shifts closer to kick off.
Still to make any final decisions but a summary of what interests me is...
Stoke/Derby double @ 2.05ish
Derby(-1.5) @ 2.10
Plymouth win or Plymouth(-0.25) @ 2.20 or 1.91
Southampton(-1) @ 2.00

Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan
Some good bets there men. My little lot for the weekend will be:
Norwich to beat Tamowrth - Robert Earnshaw should inspire the canaries over the non-leaguers
Big bet on Chelsea to Macclesfield - My biggest bet of the season on Chelsea. Some would call it an attempt to buy money and point to Chelsea's recent form. But have a look at odds over the last 2 seasons and Chelsea have been nearly 1.1 against some premiership sides let alone teams 90 places below them.
Aldershot +1.25 with Pinnacle Asian Handciap. Although Blackpool have been fairly solid expect the part timers to put up a decent show and they dont struggle for goals on the road.
Notts Forest @3.1 to beat Charlton. Have the prices for this more of an even match and this is a Charlton that have been shambolic in recent times.
Arsenal @3.85. This is not part of a personal vendetta against the pool but their record against the top 3 is at best pathetic. With Henry back and scoring might even have a little nible on him for first goal but one thing is for sure will be opposing livepool in this one.

Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan
I'd really tread carefully on the Chelsea game Odds, Chelseas current form is a bit dodgey to say the least as i mentioned to Kop last week and allthough Macclesfield should get trounced here , they are on a superb run since Ince took over picking up something like 19 points out of 21, don't let there league position fool anybody they are the current form team of league 2
I should imagine at the moment Ince would rather not have this game but would like to concentrate on the league and getting out of there current position , I doubt the players will feel that way mind and will be up for an all or nothing game and if its a wet and cold and winters day then we know who that will suit most.
Sounds silly i Know even talking about Macclesfield causing an upset against Chelesa and the players they have but i wouldent be surprised to see them nick a point on Chelseas current form without Cech or Terry.
I doubt i'd even back them @ anything like 1.1's anyhow with Cech and Terry playing truth be known.

About 1.75 for the Under THM, a bit skinny but i can understand why. I think i'll either split the stake 4 ways on this one, 0-0, 1-1, 1-0 and 0-1 or take the draw @ 3.50.
Good luck all

I'm gonna swerve this one kop, read the rovers write up after the game up there and it seems there were quite a few chances at either end even though it ended 0-0.
Both teams have play-off aspirations and i'm sure neither manager would be too keen with the draw.
going off the overs/unders market anyway to be honest.

Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan
Can't find a good reason to put anyone off backing Bristol City at home against coventry, we have a pretty formidable home record they are in a bit of a rut.
Sporting Life:
Bristol City v Coventry
The fact that League One's Bristol City are favourites for this game against Championship visitors Coventry City proves it would be no shock should they win.
It wouldn't and they should be backed at 6/4 to progress to round four on Saturday.
Bristol City are unbeaten in their last 12 games, and they have won 11 from 14 at Ashton Gate this season.
They are just three points off the top in fourth place in League One, and are strongly in the promotion hunt.
Coventry on the other hand are struggling in the Championship.
They have collected one point from their last five games and that was at home to bottom club Southend.
The Sky Blues lost to lowly Leeds most recently and they travel to Ashton Gate devoid of all confidence.
Bristol City are bubbling though and they rate a solid bet.
Verdict: Bristol City 2 Coventry 0 (BL)
Can't see much else I fancy to be honest, back to Div 1 for me

Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan
I note that Peterborough have spent some money already in the transfer window. I dont know if these players are playing or not. I'll go and post up some previews.

Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan
Quote:
Rovers v Hereford
Hereford manager Graham Turner is contemplating selection changes ahead of the trip to meet FA Cup third-round opponents Bristol Rovers.
Striker Andy Williams, now recovered from illness, could be in line for his first start since Port Vale were beaten 4-0 at Edgar Street in the competition's second round more than a month ago.
And Martyn Giles could also come into the reckoning now the defender has recovered from the dizzy spells which first began afflicting him during training sessions.
The 23-year-old has since been given the all-clear to return to action but has not featured for the Bulls since the middle of October.
Meanwhile, manager Graham Turner is expecting a stern examination at the Memorial Stadium where Rovers are just one point and one place behind Hereford in the League Two table.
He said: ``We are expecting a tough test but we have been in good form recently and, historically, have a good FA Cup pedigree.''
Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope welcomes back Sean Rigg for the match. The striker has been sidelined since suffering a broken jaw during the first-round win over Barrow in November, but will be in the squad to face the Bulls.
Byron Anthony is again ruled out after sustaining knee ligament damage during the recent draw with Walsall.
The defender is set to undergo surgery and is facing a further couple of months on the sidelines, so Craig Hinton will again deputise.
Ryan Green is also doubtful to face his former club at the Memorial Stadium. The defender suffered a groin strain during the warm-down after the 1-0 home win over struggling Torquay on New Year's Day.

Quote:
Stoke v Millwall
Midfielder Peter Sweeney is set for a surprise recall when Stoke host League One strugglers Millwall in the FA Cup third round on Friday night.
Sweeney, 22, has been out of the first-team picture since October but is poised to come in on the left-hand side of midfield following the return of loan stars Lee Hendrie and Patrik Berger to Aston Villa.
Jeff Whitley has also returned to Cardiff after his loan but boss Tony Pulis has been boosted by the news that fellow loanee Salif Diao has been granted permission to play by parent club Liverpool and is set to continue his central midfield partnership with Darel Russell.
Left-back Carl Dickinson is cup-tied after turning out for Blackpool so Clint Hill will continue to fill in, and Andy Wilkinson, who has also been on loan with the Seasiders, will be on the bench as cover.
Liam Lawrence will start his first game since making his #500,000 permanent switch from Sunderland on Tuesday.
Millwall will be without key midfielder Alan Dunne for the match as the 24-year-old must serve a one-match ban after collecting his fifth booking of the season in the Lions' 4-1 win at Brentford in League One on Boxing Day.
Also missing for the Lions will be on-loan duo Liam Trotter and Charlie Lee, whose clubs - Ipswich and Tottenham respectively - do not want to risk their players being cup-tied later in the competition
Midfielder Marvin Elliott and forward Marvin Williams remain one booking away from a one-match suspension, while defender Danny Senda could return after missing the New Year's Day win over Gillingham with a head injury.
Long-term casualties Tony Craig (shoulder), Jody Morris (knee) and Mark Phillips (appendix) remain sidelined.
