Eng Premiership Relegation

Another loss for Boro tonight against an under strength Fulham. I know I have said it a few times on TDP but I always thought Southgate would be a shit manager. Obviously it's early days and the chap might shame me by becoming one of the best ever but I doubt it. He has zero charisma and a boring voice. Ugly cunt too.

Mark my words - Boro could go down.

Re: Gareth Southgate

Its gonna be close this season by the looks of things on who goes down, its probably best to study home form because @ the moment its the only way any one from 12 are gonna get out of it.

Re: Gareth Southgate

I was searching yesterday for a relegation prediction thread, hoping we could update our predictions. Couldnt find it anywhere.

Charlton/Watford and a 'big' club for me - so one from Boro, Blackburn or Man City.

I think reading are the new wigan and sheff united are the new crazy gang. Both should stay up IMO.

As for Gareth Southgate - not the best manager but I do like his shirt/tie/jumper combos that he favours. The guy is fast becoming a style icon, albeit a very ugly one.

Re: Gareth Southgate

I think by Easter Paul Ince will be in charge at Boro. Steve Gibson likes to go for a young manager, new to the game ie, robson, mcclaren and southgate, and with Ince a former player i think he fits the bill.

Last night Boro started and finished the game well but its like Watford it is no good keep playing well but getting no points. The championship is full of teams who can do that.

Re: Gareth Southgate

Interesting to see the relegation odds as they stand today:

Sheff United - 1.53
West Ham - 4.5
Man City - 5.5
Fulham - 6.5
Middlesb - 6.5
Wigan - 7.5
Blackburn - 8.0

All with bet365

Some interesting odds there - the one that would interest me would be Blackburn. They just got whacked by Arsenal, could be losing Lucas Neill for a nominal fee and have Liverpool tomorrow. Of all the clubs in that predicament - they worry me the most.

I dont see how the bookies rate Sheff U as being that much more likely to go down than Blackburn. I am going to have a bit on them now as it happens.

Re: Eng Premiership Relegation

Paul Ince has definitely done well at Macc Odds. 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat in the last 6. Seems to have gone almost un-noticed but they are enjoying a decent run of form at the moment. Can see a big club coming in for him if this run continues.

Re: Eng Premiership Relegation

Sounds a bit mad but I saw the price and it is very big, Villa at 66/1. I mean I dont reckon at all they will go down but statistically that is very big for a team that is only 7pts clear of relegation who havent won in 7 premiership games after their O'Neill takeover period. Carry on that form over their next few games (which include Man Utd and Chelsea) and theyll be in amongst it and the price will be much lower then. Just thought it was an interesting price.

Re: Eng Premiership Relegation

Oh yeah I think theyll be fine too, top of the bottom half type place I reckon but you never know, I was commenting on the price as the fact is they are only 7pts ahead of relegation. Newcastle on same points 33/1, Fulham 1 pt behind em 8/1 etc. It doesnt take much to get sucked in

Coral and Betdirect btw Mick
