Re: C-C League Two 25-26th Nov

Shrewsbury aint in as good form as i thought and Chester aint conceding too many. Shrewsbury have won the last 3 meetings v chester mind. Its a bit of a derby game is it not? Shrewsbury quite tight at home and chester not giving too much away. I have to steer clear. 6/5 on the home is too short for me and my limited knowledge of this one at the mo.

I'd love to back Lincoln away at Wrexham. From what i can see Wrexham aint improving and Lincoln are always worth a win on the road. the 6/4 is about right i suppose. Again i couldnt back them with any conviction though. Be interested on what others are thinking. Im thinking 'is it wednesday or thursday today?'

Bury i always like on the road and theyve won their last 4 on it too. I'd be interested in seeeing how Swindon played at a poor torquay side last week before considering the away.

Mansfield have aenough firepower to beat a shaky Rochdale defence at the moment. It's been a long time since Mansfield won at Rochdale but if there was ever a time for them to win then i quite fancy them to do it on Saturday.

Peterborough torquay is a game i would never get involved in. I prefer the Posh on the road. The last 7 torquay games have finishjed under 2.5 and theyre unbeaten in the past 7 v peterboough. Too tight for me at restricted odds. Like having a nice decent life I just aint interested.

Darlington v MK Dons looks a great game but not one for betting on poss. Boston i could like at home to a Hereford side that i always underestimate. Boston are at least scoring goals and that always helps a bet. Aye one for the short list i'd say

Macclesfield im always expecting to start getting a win. Funnily enough their last 3 homes have finished 2-3 and their last 2 aways have ended 0-0. I dont know what to make of them. I do think theyre playing better than the bookies do at the mo though. stockport look in ok form mind. Nah looking at it 'it dont impress me much'. Macclesfield go into the short list bag.

Game of the day has fto be walsall v Notts county. Im a right county fan away from home and theyve a great away record. You cant argue with Walsall being a hard place to go with them only losing once all season and still unbeaten at home. I can see County giving them a game though.

Barnet have never beaten Bristol Rovers in their history i would guess.

Re: C-C League Two 25-26th Nov

having watched rochdale on the box on monday night, apart from the excellent nathan stanton and gary jones they didnt look very impressive tbh, especially the 6ft 7 striker sako who was absolutely useless! mansfields away form isnt that impressive but at 15-8 they could be worth a shout based on the dales recent form.

tresor kandal, barnets hotshot has apparantly gone to leeds on loan(frodo?) which makes inform bristol rovers look a decent proposition, also swindon not a bad price to beat overated bury imo

Re: C-C League Two 25-26th Nov

Without examining form or anything these are my first thoughts.

Walsall cost me in midweek and I can't see how they can justify 1.80 against a side who has only lost once away in the League this year - especially as they justifiably got gubbed 1-0 by the bottom side in the League on Tuesday? I can't back or lay on this game as karma dictates that laying a side you just lost money on will come back to kick you in the arse.

Urghh - the worst set of fixtures in the league here.

Yes he has. I'm not happy. Kandol has been the difference between us winning and drawing or perhaps losing our last 2 games.

Re: C-C League Two 25-26th Nov

May yet be interested in Bury at Swindon. As Komp says, Bury have won 4 in a row away from home, while Swindon have stuttered a bit recently, and have lost their last 2 at home. Maybe also Notts County as Gett1n mentions (hopefully Walsall can't kick me in the arse if I've not backed them before ), maybe also Wycombe. Also like the look of Lincoln, Wrexham are set to be without quite a few strikers - Neil Roberts, Lee McEvilly, Juan Ugarte and Tom Craddock (on loan from Middlesbrough) are all injured.

Re: C-C League Two 25-26th Nov

Boston Utd v Hereford
Struggling Boston should hand on-loan Darlington midfielder David Rowson his debut.
Pilgrims boss Steve Evans swooped to sign Rowson with defender Mark Albrighton heading in the opposite direction until January.

Evans' defensive options have been boosted after Lee Canoville having recovered from a knee injury.

The Pilgrims manager said: ``With Lee Canoville back in full training and especially the emergence of young Jamie Stevens, I could afford to consider moving Mark Albrighton out on loan.''

In a further boost, Brad Maylett (knee), Stewart Talbot (calf strain), Galbraith (hamstring) are all available again leaving Simon Rusk (knee) as the only absentee.

The Pilgrims won 3-2 at bottom club Macclesfield last weekend to move to within one point of safety.

Hereford manager Graham Turner will make a late decision on whether Stuart Fleetwood should feature.

Fleetwood has recovered from an ankle knock and the viral infection which has caused him to lose a stone in weight, although United chief Turner has admitted the striker remains short of match fitness.

Fresh from their first-round FA Cup replay victory over Shrewsbury, the Bulls have no fresh injury or suspension worries but continuing hamstring problems are likely to keep Simon Travis on the sidelines.

But Martyn Giles is available for selection once more after overcoming the spells of dizziness while John Eustace and Neil Mackenzie, who are loan from Stoke and Scunthorpe respectively, return from being cup tied

Darlington v Milton Keynes Dons
New loan signings Mark Albrighton and Anthony Griffith are in contention for a starting place for Darlington.
Boston defender Albrighton played under Quakers boss Dave Penney at Doncaster between 2002 and 2006 and moves to the 96.6 TFM Arena in a deal that sees Darlington defender David Rowson move in the opposite direction.

Griffith was brought through the ranks at Doncaster by Penney, who handed the 20-year-old midfielder his debut at Swindon last season.

Darren Holloway suffered a hamstring strain in the win at Lincoln last week and is set to be out for a month, joining Matt Clarke (back), Joey Hutchinson and Ville Vaisanen (both groin) on the sidelines.

Gaetano Giallanza (knee) is also unavailable while Phil Stamp and Julian Joachim (both hamstring) have only recently returned to training.

MK Dons manager Martin Allen will hand a debut to new loan-signing Paul Butler.

The 34-year-old joined the club from Leeds in midweek and he is raring to get going on Saturday.

He told the club's official website: ``I'm fit and ready so now it's just a matter of getting to know the lads in training and getting out there and playing. I can't wait to get started.''

Fellow loanee Lee Harper had scans on his knee but they came back clear so he will be in contention.

Sean O'Hanlon (head) is still rated as 50-50, as is Aaron Wilbraham, but Lloyd Dyer is definitely back after the birth of his daughter

Grimsby v Accrington Stanley
Struggling Grimsby are boosted by the return of defender Tom Newey.
Newey missed Tuesday's FA Cup first-round replay 2-0 defeat to Northampton Town after his sending off at Wycombe last weekend with a one-match ban.

Alan Buckley is also boosted by a trio of loan signings, with Stoke duo Anthony Pulis and Martin Paterson in line for their debuts, along with Birmingham's Peter Till after all three joined on Thursday's loan deadline.

But Gary Cohen - who has just returned to training following an operation to cure tendonitis in the summer - is still not ready for action.

He remains sidelined along with fellow frontman Michael Reddy (hernia and hip) although Isaiah Rankin has finally shaken off a thigh injury.

On-loan Nottingham Forest midfielder Kevin James will be out for another two months as he recovers from a dislocated shoulder.

Accrington boss John Coleman could hand debuts to four new loan signings.

Liverpool's David Mannix, Crewe's Adam Dugdale and Cardiff's Joe Jacobson and Curtis McDonald will all spend the next month at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

However, midfielder Ian Craney has joined Swansea with a view to a permanent deal.

Skipper Peter Cavanagh is missing for the next three months with a knee injury and Jay Harris starts a three-match ban for his red card in the 2-1 defeat to Hartlepool last weekend.

Elsewhere, attacker Rommy Boco (back) and defender Andrew Tretton (knee) remain sidelined.

Hartlepool v Wycombe
Hartlepool defender Darren Williams is a doubt but new loan signing Andy Monkhouse is in contention.
Right-back Williams suffered a recurrence of the hamstring strain he sustained against Accrington during extra time in Monday's FA Cup penalty shoot-out victory over Rochdale. However, James Brown and Matty Robson, who were both forced off with cramp against Dale, should be fit.

Monkhouse will contest a place in midfield following his month-long switch from League Two rivals Swindon despite not featuring for the Robins for four weeks because of a hamstring injury.

On-loan forward Darryl Duffy is available again after Hull refused permission for him to play in the FA Cup.

Antony Sweeney is closing in on a return after a lengthy absence with knee ligament damage but Joel Porter (also knee) is still out.

Fourth-placed Wycombe will welcome back midfielder Anthony Grant from suspension.

The on-loan Chelsea teenager sat out last week's 1-1 draw against Grimsby with a one-match ban after picking up five yellow cards.

Scott Golbourne has returned to Reading following the end of his loan spell, which could pave the way for Aston Villa youngster Stephen O'Halloran to come into the starting line-up for the first time in the league.

Chris Palmer, who came off the bench to good effect against Grimsby, provides another option for manager Paul Lambert.

Argentinian playmaker Sergio Torres remains a long-term injury absentee with a niggling knee problem along with goalkeeper Frank Talia (knee).

Peterborough v Torquay
Defenders Ben Turner and Craig Morgan will be added to the Peterborough squad after signing on loan.
Turner, of Coventry, and MK Dons centre-half Morgan completed loan deadline-day moves to Posh and go straight into the squad.

But fellow Sky Blues youngster Liam Davis, who has also rejoined Posh for a third month, has been ruled out of the London Road clash with a shin injury.

Peter Gain (groin), Trevor Benjamin (back) and Jamie Day (calf) all got a midweek reserves run-out and are available, although Keith Alexander may opt to start with an unchanged side following last week's impressive 2-0 win at Mansfield.

Striker Simon Yeo remains the only long-term injury absentee as he continues his rehabilitation from a fractured cheekbone.

Young left-back Adam Smith could make the squad after signing this week from non-league side King's Lynn.

Torquay are waiting on the fitness of left back Stevland Angus.

Angus missed the 2-1 FA Cup win over Leatherhead with a knee injury and although he started last week's 1-0 home defeat by Swindon with his knee heavily strapped, he was substituted at half-time and replaced by Stephen Reed.

United are again set to be without skipper Craig Taylor. Taylor recovered from a back injury - which has ruled him out for over a month - but then suffered a thigh strain and missed last week's defeat by Swindon.

Taylor's place in the back four has gone to converted striker Lee Thorpe.

Rochdale v Mansfield
Rochdale manager Steve Parkin looks set to welcome new loan signing William Mocquet into his side.
The 23-year-old Frenchman joined from Sunderland just days before the transfer deadline and he is likely to line-up on the right-hand side of the midfield.

Mark Jackson was ruled out of the Dale's FA Cup clash with Hartlepool with a recurrent foot problem and he is likely to be out again on Saturday.

But Parkin has been boosted by the return of John Doolan and Clive Moyo-Modise after hamstring injuries, while Darrell Clarke is available again after not being allowed to face his parent club in the cup.

Winger Adam Rundle would retain his place in a four-man midfield but he will drop to the bench if Parkin opts to return to 433 after playing a 442 at Victoria Park.M

Mansfield manager Peter Shirtliff should have a full squad available.

New signing Asa Charlton is expected to keep his place after the left-back impressed Shirtliff despite being replaced by Michael Boulding after 65 minutes in the 2-0 win over Peterborough.

Midfielder Stephen Dawson is the only major injury concern after he suffered a back strain in training forcing him to miss the Peterborough match but Shirtliff is confident he will now be available for selection.

Danny Reet has shown no ill-effects from concussion he suffered against Bristol Rovers and was on the bench last week but could be in line for a first-team place, while Simon Brown is also pressing for a starting spot after being restricted to a substitute appearance following his recovery from a dead leg.

Adam Birchall is unavailable after Shirtliff allowed the striker to be loaned to fellow League Two side Barnet.

Stockport v Macclesfield
Stockport manager Jim Gannon will make a late check on Rob Clare.
The defender limped out of the 1-1 draw with Chester with a calf problem and Gannon will not risk the injury against the Silkmen.

New signing Keith Treacy goes straight into the squad after joining on loan from Blackburn but defenders Gareth Owen (hamstring) and Michael Raynes (chest) and striker Liam Dickinson (knee) are out.

Gannon watched Macc record their first win of the season against Walsall in the FA Cup in midweek and believes they are a tougher proposition than their league position suggests.

He said: ``Their win at Walsall was well-deserved because it was an excellent display. They worked very hard with a good shape and they're difficult to break down.

``Paul has got them very organised but they're a threat on the counter-attack and from set-pieces. In some ways this will be a harder game than the recent one against Lincoln.''

Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic goes straight into Paul Ince's Macclesfield squad.

Begovic has arrived from Portsmouth for the month as Tommy Lee has picked up a groin problem.

Defender Rob Scott is available after missing the 1-0 FA Cup win at Walsall with a head knock but the game may come too soon for skipper David Morley (thigh).

On-loan striker John Murphy is still struggling with a back problem and Ince will weigh up the striker's fitness before deciding whether to try to extend his loan next week.

Ince, whose side recorded their first win in 20 matches against the Saddlers, said: ``They've been buzzing this week but they've set the standard now, going to the league leaders and winning.

``Now that we've done that, we know we can go anywhere and get a result home or away but we just need to start picking up points.'

Swindon v Bury
Swindon will be without midfield duo Paul Evans and Michael Pook.
Evans is expected to be sidelined for around three weeks after a scan revealed he suffered medial ligament damage in last week's win at Torquay. Pook also has a problem with his knee but he misses out through suspension after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season at Plainmoor.

Their absence could mean a debut for Fulham youngster Michael Timlin, who joined the Robins on loan until January 1 on Thursday.

Jamie Vincent has returned to training following a hamstring injury and could force his way back into the reckoning but the game looks like coming too soon for fellow defender Aaron Brown.

Bury manager Chris Casper can call on new loan signings Matt Blinkhorn, Stephen Turnbull and Andy Warrington.

Blackpool striker Blinkhorn and Hartlepool midfielder Turnbull have both joined the Shakers on a month's loan, while Warrington is with the club until January 1 and all three go straight into Casper's squad.

Full-back Tom Kennedy is expected to feature despite requiring stitches in an eye wound picked up in the FA Cup clash with Weymouth in midweek.

Manchester City's Kasper Schmeichel plays his last game before returning to Eastlands, so Warrington may have to settle for a place on the bench, with fellow goalkeeper Alan Fettis (broken arm) a couple of weeks away.

Tom Youngs is sidelined for a couple of weeks with a knee injury sustained in the 2-0 defeat by Bristol Rovers but Glynn Hurst returns after being ruled out of the midweek game due to the structure of his loan deal from Shrewsbury.

Casper said: ``We've been to Notts County, Peterborough and Lincoln and won this season and, while this is another tough game for us, it's one that we're relishing.``

Walsall v Notts County
Central defender Chris Westwood is expected to return to the Walsall squad.
Westwood missed the midweek FA Cup first-round defeat to Macclesfield while nursing a hamstring problem but should regain fitness in time for the Magpies' arrival.

But fellow defender Anthony Gerrard remains sidelined by an ankle injury and is not expected back until next week.

Striker Tommy Wright is set to make his debut after joining on a two-month loan from Barnsley, but Darren Wrack has been rated as touch and go after falling victim to hamstring troubles of his own but Mark Kinsella is expected to be recalled after being rested for the cup tie.

Craig Pead will miss out though while serving the final instalment of a three-game suspension and long-term knee problems keep Allan Picken on the treatment table too.

Notts County manager Steve Thompson is pondering whether to tinker with hus winning side.

Thompson's men travel to Bescot buoyed by their 2-1 win over Wrexham but the Magpies boss is keen to avoid burn-out among his squad on the run-in to the critical festive fixture period so may make a few changes.

Certain to miss out though is winger Tom Curtis who has recovered from a broken foot but who has yet to regain the match fitness and sharpness lost during his lay-off.

And Steve Hunt will also be excused duty after picking up an ankle knock which is likely to keep him sidelines for a further two weeks.

On-loan Southend midfielder Jay Smith is pushing for his first County start after featuring as a substitute against the Red Dragons.

Wrexham v Lincoln City
Wrexham boss Denis Smith is again missing a clutch of strikers.
Strikers Neil Roberts, Lee McEvilly, Juan Ugarte and on-loan Middlesbrough starlet Tom Craddock all remain sidelined through injury.

McEvilly and Ugarte both played in a practice match on Wednesday but are not yet considered fit for selection.

Ugarte, who is battling back from a 12-month lay-off caused by a knee injury, has found his progress impeded by slight hamstring problems.

But he could back in the next fortnight along with former Rochdale forward McEvilly, who is recovering from a foot injury.

Faltering Lincoln should hand debuts to loan signings Mathew Birley and Shane Nicholson.

Birley, a 20-year-old midfielder, has joined from Birmingham while Nicholson has arrived from Chesterfield.

Both players will stay until January 6 and could go straight into the starting line-up at the Racecourse Ground as the Imps seek to end their their-match losing streak.

Nottingham Forest defender Nick Eaden has also returned to Sincil Bank for a third month on loan and the deal could be made permanent in January.

Midfielder Scott Kerr (back strain) and striker Ollie Ryan (stomach) are again expected to be missing along with defender Jeff Hughes (hamstring).

However, striker Martin Gritton has shrugged off an ankle strain and could make his first appearance since October while Ryan Semple has moved to Chester on loan.

Re: C-C League Two 25-26th Nov

I think Rovers have a good chance of winning today, as has been mentioned, Barnet have lost their top striker and Rovers are full of confidence having hit a bit of form lately.

They are available at 2.04 with betfair and i thin it is a fair price.

I got a bit stung yesterday backing the home team and the unders after a flurryof late goals in the crewe game but both teams here struggle for goals - 66% of rovers home games are under and 55% of Barnets away games are under.

sod it, lets just get on the rovers to win

Rovers to beat Barnet 2.04 with betfair

Re: C-C League Two 25-26th Nov

You can get 2.075 for Bristol -0.5 with Bet365, handicapman, have taken that myself too. Not sure whether there's some kind of negative team news though, as the Bet365 1X2 price on Bristol R has gone from 1.83 to evens. Can't see anything that should lead to that kind of change, and as has already been mentioned on here, now that Kandol has gone from Barnet, one of their biggest threats has gone.
