Robins fill midfield void
Friday Nov 24 2006 10:03
Cheltenham Town have attempted to fill the void created by Grant McCann's loan departure by signing Kristian O'Leary from Swansea City on an emergency loan.

O'Leary is a former Swansea skipper who has made only a handful of appearances for the Welsh club this season.

The 29-year-old has agreed a one-month loan switch to Whaddon Road.

"We have moved quickly to plug the gap left by Grant McCann and I'm sure Kris O'Leary will be an excellent signing for us," Robins boss John Ward told the club's official website.

"He has a wealth of experience in Leagues One and Two and actually played last week against Port Vale so he comes to us nice and fresh.

"He will bring strength and experience to the midfield area and we will look at the possibility of extending the loan if it all works out well for us."

And Jackson is demanding his players pick up maximum points from the game against Oldham at the Galpharm Stadium next weekend.

He said: "We need a win at home against Oldham on Saturday. I know that puts pressure on, but our form at home has been jittery and the crowd knows it.

Re: C-C League One 24-26th Nov

Im looking at Scunthorpe to get something (or possibly nothing) at Yeovil. Yerovil seem awfully stuffy this season and dont give much away. I believe theyve just got a striker on loan from Southampton too. Scunthorpe to me though are playing their best football of the season and are grinding out the points. Im a bit wary of this mind

Quote:
Scunthorpe were unable to find the high tempo they enjoyed when they produced their best performance of the season at home to Northampton Saturday.

"After that we found there was not much left in the tank," confessed caretaker manager Nigel Adkins.

"But this competition is all about winning matches and that is what we have managed to do."
from their monday night cup game. I can see them possibly grinding out another 1-09 away win and i think i'll chance the unders and poss Scunthorpe dnb or similar. if i do a correct score fanciful line then i could throw in the 0-1.

Re: C-C League One 24-26th Nov

I too am finding it hard to find a bet in this division today, the nearest i've got to a pick was looking at Carlisle and Crewe.

Interesting unders/overs market in the crewe game:

unders - 2.56!
overs - 1.62!

can't remember seeing a market like that for some time and just for the sake of it will have a couple of points on the unders, is 2-0 crewe that unlikely?

also quite like the undes in the northampton-Oldham game currently 1.81 with betfair.

Will be going on Crewe as well today at 1.92 with betfair. I don't think much of Chesterfields recent form and Crewe should be too strong for them.

Re: C-C League One 24-26th Nov

Don;t know if anyone is looking at the Swansea v Bristol City game today but as a City fan I can't really make my mind up what will happen, we capitulated 7-1 here last season but the manager left soon after and only a few of the team survive. In fact we'll have as many ex-yeovil players playing (who won up there last season) as veterans of that game so it shouldnt have much influence.

I do think there will be goals though and with 5 of the last 6 meetings being over, the 2.16 looks a nice price.

Both teams will be desperate to win and falling off the chase with the games played yesterday and I wouldnt be surprised to see a winner with the odd goal in three.

Swansea vs Bristol City OVERS 2.16 bet betfair

Re: C-C League One 24-26th Nov

I was looking at the Swansea win. They've won the last few at home and City have lost the last few away (granted there are some differences in class in those results).

I'm gonna go with Swansea here at 2.38 but not a huge bet by any means
